Hi… my name is Peter.
You’ve got to admit, I give new meaning to “happy face”! But then we Pomeranians are known as active breeds with a cheerful disposition, alert character, and fox-like expression (that’s what the AKC says, and I’ll bet anyone who’s owned one of us will vouch for that statement!). I was “just wandering around” in the Los Arroyos area of Sahuarita for several days when a sweet lady took me in. Unfortunately (for me, not her!), she had just adopted a puppy, so she had her hands full with his training and I was more than she could manage. They’re guessing my age and I’m in very good health (but at my age, I qualify for TALGV’s “Vet Care for Life” program anyway), so you’ll have no worries in that department. I’d love to spend my golden years warm and safe in a loving home, so won’t you give me a chance to do just that?
Note: Peter’s age qualifies him for TALGV’s “Vet Care for Life” program)

When I arrived at TALGV, my siblings were christened the “NCIS” litter, thus my name. Being the charmer I was, it wasn’t long before I was adopted and went to live with a young couple with two teenage kids. Although they didn’t have any other pets, I was around a lot of other animals, and my people said I got along great with them. I’m said to be gentle and tolerant, housebroken, and know basic commands (I’ve never had any “professional” training, so that might be a good thing for me). My people said that I’m very lovable and listen well, but need someone who will be home a bit more (their pet sitter moved away and there was no one to care for me when needed, so it got pretty expensive in a boarding kennel). I’m a young, black and tan Rottie/heeler mix boy, and I’m sure I’ll make this year one to remember!

Hi… my name is Pepper.
I was adopted September 8, 2014.
They say I’m a “green-eyed lover.” I’m a beautiful lady who was found when I was a kitten as a stray and taken in by a family that wasn’t able to keep me. I went to live with a new mom and pop shortly after I came to TALGV and they say that I’m a sweet, gentle lady who is very playful (I love ribbons, strings, tissue paper and little stuffed mice), but I sort of had “issues” with the resident dog after a while, so here I am back one more time. I’m a striking, shorthaired, all black gal (with those drop-dead gorgeous eyes!), so I’m hoping to find a family where I can be your only love. I promise to be all you want from a friend if you’ll just give me another chance, and I know I’d look elegant with a bright red bow sitting by your window!

Hi… my name is Lucy.
Adopted December 19, 2014.
Our rescuer found my sister, Nova, and I a few months ago, and although he thought we’d make a great addition to his home, his resident cats had VERY different ideas! So, well, you know the rule: last in/first out! Although both of us love to play and once you hold us, we purr up a storm, it’s evident that our formative weeks didn’t include a lot of love from humans, so we are a little shy when we first meet you. The solution to that, of course, is to shower us with love and attention and prove to us how sweet and caring people really can be. I’m an interesting mix of Siamese and something else — the Siamese coming to the fore in my blue eyes — so you know that when I’m grown, I’m going to be a lover just like my forebears. I just know that’s what you want in a companion!

Hi… my name is Sage.
When you have shepherd, Lab, and a touch of “something else” in your genes, you know that you’ve got the possibility of great things going on! An older gentleman adopted me after I’d been at TALGV for a while, and my life was wonderful until he died unexpectedly. A friend took care of me for two months and would have kept me forever, but he already had four rescue dogs and didn’t have the resources to keep a big, active 3-year-old as well. He said I’m crate trained, walk well on a leash (and even off leash in safe places), and stay close to my people. He said, “Sage will be a great pet for an individual or family. She likes exercise and can be trusted to stop and obey commands off leash. She accepts authority from those who are handling her.” With those bona fides, I know you’ll fall in love with me in no time!

Hi… my name is Mystic.
Adopted January 1, 2015.
Let’s be honest — it’s not that little kids can’t be nice it’s just that they tend to be “huggy” and “chasey” and run around on those little motorized legs like armored tanks! And that makes me very nervous! I’m not crazy about other cats, but I adore adults — mom said that I liked being talked to and cuddled and am a great companion. I loved to sleep in bed with her and greet everyone at the door when they came home. She also said, “Mystic likes to sunbathe and look out windows, enjoys having his fur combed, and absolutely loves wet food”! I have a glossy black coat that makes my orange eyes “pop,” so you’ll be getting a real “looker” in addition to a lover when you take me home!
Arrived November 12, 2014.

Hi… my name is Charlie Chaplin.
I guess there won’t be anyone out there wondering how I got my name! My “moustache” is unmistakable, and it just adds that extra “something” that makes me so distinctive. My people adopted me from a shelter and had me for three months, but as they said, “Our household is quiet, which was too boring for Charlie. He needs more stimulation than we could provide.” They said that I was very boisterous and energetic, but played a bit too rough with their older, timid cat (they thought I’d really like a younger, more lively playmate, so that’s what I’m looking for). I’m a shorthaired black and white boy who is exceptionally playful, curious and eager to explore my surroundings. I might even do well with a dog that liked cats (they are a bit more into “interactive” play than a lot of felines!), so if that sounds like your household, I’d probably fit in just fine!

I’ve been around the block a few times for a teenager as my most recent mom got me from a friend who couldn’t keep me, and then she decided she couldn’t either, so “presto-chango” one more move and here I am! I utterly adore having my ears scratched (I can do all sorts of contortions so that you reach just the right spot!), and although I was allowed outside for a few months, I know life is a lot safer indoors for felines here in the desert, so I’ll be happy to keep you company there for the rest of my life. I’m a young “tuxedo” boy who is going to give your life a whole new meaning when we get together!
