Animal League News

Hi… my name is Tonka,

Adopted 10-17-23

Are you ready “fur” a kitty? Well, if you are, I came in with nine others, and we are all just as sweet as can be! Why are we here? Too many cats and dogs in the home. So here we are waiting to be adopted. I’m a handsome, furry lad who is super-friendly. I will follow you around for attention. Like I said, I’m friendly. Oh, did I mention I love to jump? I’m tolerant of a home filled with activity. After all, I lived with children, several large dogs and several cats. I “roll with the punches” so to speak. Please come check me out! I’m waiting for you.

Hi… my name is Diana,

Adopted 12-26-23

I’m sure I was named for the Roman Goddess Diana. I am a lovely, svelte young lady who quietly manages my life. Some of my life is a mystery. I’m at The Animal League because I have no home of my own. I want one; I really do. If you come meet me, please say my name and come to pet me gently; will you? I’m timid and bewildered so I tend to sit by myself. I don’t mind the other cats in my room; it’s just that I’m an introvert here. In your home, I might flourish as your sweet, loving companion. Will you give me the opportunity to love you?

Hi… my name is Mila,

Adopted 11-15-23

I come from a blended family: dogs, cat and a new baby. I was kept separate from the dogs, but with the arrival of the new baby, I began fighting with the other cat. I guess it was just too much for me!  Mom says I’m super-sweet though, and love to cuddle, sit on laps and sleep with you. I also like to play with strings. Here at The Animal League the volunteers notice I like to hang out on the top perch of a cat tree and respond to petting and brushing with my “elevator butt.” I have cute chubby cheeks and a beautiful charcoal grey coat.  Why not come chat me up?

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may  call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted with Mimi 10-13-23

Wanted: companion who likes to pet me, will let me sit in their lap, and play fetch with me. In return I will purr, follow you around, and give you my undying loyalty! My mom has health problems but wanted us to know that I’m a mild-mannered fellow with no fear of humans—even though she rescued me from outside. I still seem to be interested in the outdoors so it’s best to be careful when opening doors around me. I like attention so much that sometimes when it stops, I like to give love nibbles in protest. Why not come meet me and let me show how enthusiastically I respond to brushing and scratching!

Hi… my name is Iris,

Adopted 10-16-23

Boy am I glad I was found and brought to The Animal League! Another cat (maybe my son) and I were found hiding in some pallets. We were rounded up and now we’re sleeping in safety and getting regular meals. What a deal! All I need now is my own home. So far, I’ve been pretty laid back about it all, and I’ve been lounging around in the cat beds here. You can pick me up and hold me and I won’t mind. My coat is a pretty grey and white.  How about coming over to check me out?  Now that I’ve been “brought in from the cold” I don’t ever want to go back!

Hi… my name is Howard,

Adopted 11-1-23

At The Animal League my favorite post is on my cat tree looking out into the hall, hoping my next human will be coming to meet me! As a tiny kitten, I was rescued from the desert, skinny and scared. With the care of humans, I became a curious little guy who loved to explore. I loved to play with string toys and balls. I chomped down my food with gusto. How fortunate I was! While living with my foster family, I got along well with children, but dogs were a no-no. They said I might not always be brave, but that I was always cute and ready to snuggle! Why not come meet me? I’m waiting!

Hi… my name is Chickpea (aka Jack),

Adopted 10-23-23

This is my second time at The Animal League! I was found outside as a stray kitten, then was adopted along with another cat and we had a few good years in that home. Now I find myself back here, through no fault of my own. I am okay with dogs (don’t know about kids) and dad says I’m a wonderful, loving cat. I’m not shy and like to meet new people. I like to sleep with you or on a soft chair. I’m a big boy who likes brushing (with my longer coat that’s a good thing), and I have a black dot on my nose. Please come let me introduce myself.

Hi… my name is Yeti,

Adopted 12-30-23

No worries about stepping on my tail because I don’t have one! I’m a Bobtail Cat. I’m a petite beauty with soft, grey fur awaiting my new home. For the past two years I have lived with a couple and their dogs. My humans said that I was initially nervous around strangers but became calm once I trusted them. Around excited children, I became anxious and played rough. I enjoyed playing with balls and feathered wands. I liked to sleep in my own cat tree. And that’s where you may find me at The Animal League. Please approach me gently with soothing words, and I’ll check you out. You just may be my new companion!

Mia

Hi… my name is Mia,

Adopted with Callie 3-2-24

My humans who had me since I was a kitten were moving and couldn’t take me and my feline friend Callie with them. Perhaps that is why my eyes weep at times, but all you have to do is wipe them. I have that unique cauliflower left ear which sets me apart from other cats. I was gentle with children and tolerant of the two dogs. I was shy with strangers due to my laid-back personality. That’s okay, isn’t it? I only need my own human’s lap to be cuddled on. Please come meet me, and let’s see what we can work out.
