Animal League News

Hi… my name is Flower.

Adopted July 28, 2015

My human mom was one of those people who never met an animal she didn’t like, and, as those things go, she ended up with a few too many. After my sister, Milani, and I were born, she finally decided enough was enough and asked TALGV to find us homes. We were just wee babes when we arrived (we’re still pretty much that now), so we lived with a foster mom (who named us for cruelty-free brands of cosmetics!), and she said that we were totally delightful, typically inventive and curious kids who would add tons of vibrancy to anyone’s home. I’m a medium-haired dilute torti girl with delightful “tickle-your-fancy” ear tufts who wants to spend my life charming you (and maybe even with Milani to help me)!

Hi… my name is Thomas.

Adopted July 20, 2015

When my dad moved away for his new job, his mom took my friend, Cosmo, and me in even though she couldn’t really afford our care. Eighteen months later, she just couldn’t manage it any longer, so we’re both here looking for that “third-time’s-a-charm” home. Mom said that I love to be petted, sleep on her bed (I don’t bother her, I just share!), and purr a lot (in case you need “white noise” to help you sleep at night or calm you if you’re having a rough day!). I don’t “do” kids well, but adult humans are a whole different story! I’m a big, declawed, medium-haired slate gray boy who’ll spend days lounging around with you and nights purring you to sleep!

Hi… my name is Felix Foo.

Adopted June 23, 2016

After my dad died unexpectedly, I moved in with his mom and lived with her for several years until she passed away, too. A friend fostered me on a trial basis, but I pursued her 16-year-old cat who simply was not in the market for a gung ho playmate. When I was a kitten, my dad taught me to walk on a leash, so if you’re looking for company on a stroll around the yard (or the neighborhood once I’ve settled in and am familiar with my new surroundings), then I’m your guy. And if you care about looks, well I’m a handsome, blue-eyed Siamese and silver tabby mix that offers charm, companionship (they say I’m chatty at times!), and delight in equal measure!

Hi… my name is Shadow,

Adopted December 14, 2015

The nice lady who found and cared for my brother, Spirit Boy, and me after we were born to a feral mom in early 2015, tried to make sure that we didn’t stay that way for long. But because we’d spent so much time out there looking over our shoulders, we both seem to live up to our names — we’re on the shy side and need to be able to come out of our shells and learn to trust on our own terms. Deep down, I know we really want to be part of the family, so if you let me “do my own thing” and not “push it,” then I think you’ll end up with an exceptionally grateful and handsome grey “Russian Blue-ish” boy, and that’s going to be wonderful for both of us!

Hi… my name is Manny.

Adopted May 30, 2015

Life was one big bowl of cherries for me until my dad’s girlfriend (and her drat cat) came to live with us. I’d been getting along fine with the resident cat and dog, but the newbie didn’t like me, so unfortunately it was me who got the boot. Funny how fast life changes isn’t it? My dad was really sad to part with me and said, “Manny is incredibly friendly and loving and enjoys being brushed as well as playing fetch with hair ties or furry cat toys. He does well with cats and tolerates dogs. He wants to be wherever you are and loves being the center of attention.” I’m a 10-year-old, slate grey and white Korat mix gentleman, so if you’re looking for a companion to lavish attention on, I’m your guy!

Hi… my name is Jade.

Adopted August 6, 2015.

If there ever were a guy who wanted to be your one and only, it’s me! I lived with four other cats, but I never quite got into the group thing (well, they were pretty dominant, and I’m your quintessential laid back “just-want-to-be-with-you-in-your-lap” type). Okay, at 24 pounds, I’ve got to admit that I’m a smidge heavy for laps, but that’s easily remedied with weight management food and fewer snacks (you know how it is — it’s a human thing, too!). And cuddling? Well, we can do that next to each other on the sofa! I’m a dashing, handsome Maine Coon gentleman (and you know how sweet we are!), who, to steal from Clint Eastwood, will “make your day”! C’mon, let me. You know you want to!

Hi… my name is Princess,

Adopted 1-29-19

When I first came to TALGV, I was scared to pieces, but after tons of TLC, I’ve come a long way. I’m still quite shy and can often be found hiding in a cubby, but I do like to have my soft fur stroked now and then, because every day I come out of my shell a little more. I came from a hoarding situation, where I didn’t receive the one-on-one time I deserved. I’d probably be okay in a home with one or two other cats, but too many other felines might remind me too much of a painful past. What I’d really love is a patient cat person with a quiet home who can give me all the love I need.

Hi… my name is Jacks.

Adopted May 3, 2015

Oh, the life I’ve led! Five and a half years isn’t that old, but I sure crammed a lot of misery into it before I arrived here! I belonged to a woman who yelled and kicked at me if I did the least thing that upset her, and when she moved away, she threw me outside to fend for myself. In addition to that, I suffered from entropian (a painful condition that causes eyelashes to grow inward and rub the eye), so you can imagine what a time of it I had trying to get by! Happily, some wonderful people rescued me, ensured that I had surgery to correct my eyes, and now I’m oh-so-ready to find a quiet loving home where I can finally relax and be the enormously grateful Siamese prince I’m meant to be!
