BROOK is a gentle, loving 2-year-old, 45-pound female Shepherd mix. She is a very sweet, people-oriented dog who was abandoned by owner. Brook is housebroken and will sit on command; she enjoys riding in car and walking on leash but needs more training. She is healthy, spayed, and is up to date on shots (medical records are available). Brook is okay with other passive dogs; cats and kids are unknown. Brook needs a home where someone is mostly at home; a fenced yard is recommended. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Brook into a loving home as part of your family, please call Andrea between 10 AM and 4 PM at 520-307-9481.

Hi… my name is Patty,

Adopted 4-15-17

“A good girl, very friendly,” is how my former owner described me. Unfortunately, she also said I chased chickens, goats and cats, and she has all those animals. But let’s get back to my good qualities! In addition to being friendly, I’m leash trained, know lots of commands, and definitely know how to have fun—I love water, running, and playing with toys. Prior to coming here, I was living outside and somewhere along the line, my throat was hurt, so I have an unusual bark. I’m a 2-1/2-year-old St. Bernard mix female, 72 pounds, with a gorgeous tan and white coat, and you can imagine how much it will mean to me to live indoors in a comfy, loving home. If you make that happen—well, plain and simply, I’ll love you forever!

Hi… my name is Pluto,

Adopted 1-5-18

When I arrived here, I just sat by myself, sad and lonely. Then, after a few days, I realized things might be okay for me. I started going for walks, playing “find it” for treats (love that game!), and making new friends. As a rule, I’m cautious with new people (might growl when they approach); but my former family reported that I could be “loving with people I know.” For fun, I enjoy nice long walks and playing fetch, plus I’m good in the car and housetrained. I’m a smart 2-year-old black Lab mix male, 90+ pounds (did I mention the treat game?), and once we get to know each other, I’m a good and loving companion. My suggestion? We should get acquainted real soon because we could be happy together for a long time!

Hi… my name is Sundance,

Adopted 5-12-17

My buddy Butch and I were found with our leashes tied together. We’re close to the same size—I’m about 12 pounds and he’s 11—so we could walk side-by-side, but we didn’t know where to go! Our rescuer tried to find our home, called the police for help, but no one claimed us. Judging by how very dirty we were, we’d probably been out on our own for some time. But that’s over now. We’re off the leashes (except when we’re out for a walk, of course) and back to being our happy, confident selves. I’m about 2 years old, a white and tan Terrier mix male with lots of personality and love to share. So what do you say? Will you let me keep you company on all the happy trails ahead?

Hi… my name is Bell,

Adopted 2-27-17

We’re not sure how I became a stray, but it appears my former owners left me behind when they moved away. Then, very soon, my story took a turn for the better. I was rescued from that predicament, whisked away to the care of people who made me feel important. Now, I have lots of friends here at TALGV, and they’ll tell you I’m a charming female, sometimes shy at first, but with lots of personality once we become acquainted. If we get together, I could become a favorite walking companion, (you would definitely be mine), and at home, while you relax, I’ll be happy just chilling out. I’m a white Shepherd mix, about 59 pounds, and who knows? You and I may discover some of our best times ever just by being together!

Hi… my name is Oliver,

Adopted 3-20-17

On a cold and rainy day, my finders discovered me at their front door. Although they couldn’t keep me—they already have 2 dogs and 6 cats—we became acquainted and, wow, did they have good things to say about me! “Very adaptable, quick learner, affectionate, loves humans, fine with cats and dogs (actually somewhat intimidated by cats), wants to play and run.” Asked what a potential adopter should know, they said that I “will be a wonderful companion, especially for an active person/family.” And you know what? The caregivers here feel exactly the same way! They add that I’m shy, very sweet, and handsome—a black and white 1-year-old male—and I’m grateful for all those kind words. Best of all, I believe someone wonderful will soon say to me: Let’s go home!

Hi… my name is Travis,

Adopted 5-21-17

When my brothers and I arrived here at TALGV (which was because there were simply too many dogs where we were born), we apparently resembled cowboys because we were given country western names. These days, the others have been adopted and so I’m going solo, letting my own charming personality shine through and thoroughly enjoying the company of my people friends. We play together, exercise, and cuddle a lot; I’m an attentive, smart little guy, a handsome Heeler/Staffie mix male with a sleek black and white coat. At 5 months I was 20 pounds; a little older now and still growing, I already have a full-grown dream that you can make come true: To go home with you and become the dog you’ll love and be happy with for a long time to come.
