Hi… my name is Sunshine,

Adopted 11-29-23

I’m known to people, familiar with me, as a gal with a “sunny” disposition. With that endorsement, what name could possibly be a better fit for a sweet, affectionate, 3-year-old Staffie mix like me! My previous owner said I behave well in the house, ask to go out, and over all I’m a “good dog.” I’m also crate and leash trained, but because I am a strong walker, he decided he could no longer handle me. I know the commands “sit,” “stop,” “down,” and “stay” and enjoy playing with toys, but sharing, not so much. I’d probably do well in a home with older children. I’ve been an only dog, but previously I have enjoyed meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. Now please, just let the “sunshine” in, and let it be Me!

NOTE: Sunshine has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. She would like to meet any resident dogs before adoption to your home.

Hi… my name is Lady Bird (aka Blue),

Adopted 12-5-23

I shared my home with a couple of kids and 19 cats and dogs. It appears I got along well with all of them! With a full house, several of us had to find new homes. After spending a week in a foster home, as an only dog, I discovered… I LIKED it! My foster mom said, like my name, I was calm and a “Lady” in the house. With a small treat, I’ll willingly go into my crate and sleep quietly all night. I ask to go out, sit when told, and walk well on a leash. I’m strong and need a dog savvy person to teach me how to not react when meeting other dogs. I’m affectionate, love to snuggle and moan when content. You too could be content! Want to snuggle?

Hi… my name is Tina,

Adopted with Baby and Eclipse 10-15-23

Are you ready “fur” a kitty? Well, if you are, I came in with nine others, and we all are just as sweet as can be! Why are we here? Too many cats and dogs in the home. So here we are waiting to be adopted. What a beauty I am! I don a lovely, soft fur coat with under-chin of white. My golden eyes complete my buff/white outfit. I am tolerant of a household filled with activity. After all, I lived with children, other cats, and large dogs. I “roll with the punches” so to speak. Please come check me out! I’d be a great companion. I so desire my own human to love. Is that you?

Hi… my name is Diana,

Adopted 12-26-23

I’m sure I was named for the Roman Goddess Diana. I am a lovely, svelte young lady who quietly manages my life. Some of my life is a mystery. I’m at The Animal League because I have no home of my own. I want one; I really do. If you come meet me, please say my name and come to pet me gently; will you? I’m timid and bewildered so I tend to sit by myself. I don’t mind the other cats in my room; it’s just that I’m an introvert here. In your home, I might flourish as your sweet, loving companion. Will you give me the opportunity to love you?

Hi… my name is Fabian,

Adopted 1-21-24

I’m yet another example of why microchipping – and keeping information current – is so important. Dogs can’t carry wallets. Where would we put them? Some very kind people found me wandering in Sahuarita without so much as a collar and brought me to The Animal League. I easily settled in with my canine neighbors while getting vetted, chipped and made a responsible member of society (neutered). Supposedly I was named after an equally handsome man from “back in the day,” maybe he had a fluffy tail? I’m a playful boy who has rather good leash manners. The volunteers think I’d make a great hiking and/or exercise buddy noting that while I’m energetic, I’m not the canine equivalent of the Energizer Bunny. If you like to play or if you have other friendly dogs who appreciate rollicking play sessions, I’d love to meet you and become a permanent member of your pack!

Hi… my name is Athos,

Adopted 10-21-23

Once upon a time, three young dogs were found all alone in a desert wash. I was one of those dogs, the 18-month-old male, and even I can’t tell you how we got there. Let’s just say we were lost but lucky because a kind person found us and brought us here. The two females in our trio already have been adopted, and I admit to feeling lonely right now.  Oh, I have lots of new TALGV friends. We go on walks, they feed me, keep me company, and are patiently helping me become more confident. I’m a 24-pound Heeler with a beautiful black coat and speckled paws, quietly dreaming of life as a happy, carefree dog in a wonderful place called home. Could you be the one to make my dream come true?

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted with Mimi 10-13-23

Wanted: companion who likes to pet me, will let me sit in their lap, and play fetch with me. In return I will purr, follow you around, and give you my undying loyalty! My mom has health problems but wanted us to know that I’m a mild-mannered fellow with no fear of humans—even though she rescued me from outside. I still seem to be interested in the outdoors so it’s best to be careful when opening doors around me. I like attention so much that sometimes when it stops, I like to give love nibbles in protest. Why not come meet me and let me show how enthusiastically I respond to brushing and scratching!
