Hi… my name is Teddy.

I was adopted August 2, 2014.

So you’re looking for a puppy, but maybe one that’s a bit more mature than those balls of fluff everyone falls for? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’m a charming 5-month-old black Lab (and maybe heeler) mix boy, who was found way out on El Toro Road and have that typical “on the way to growing up” personality. I’m very comfortable with the other dogs I’ve been “matched” with here at TALGV, and the volunteers say that I’m a very tolerant, “low-drama” pup who just needs normal supervision. I’m absolutely sure that once I’m comfortable in my new home and understand that I’ll never have to face the great outdoors alone again, I’ll be one doggone grateful fellow who’ll show you the real meaning of “puppy love”!

Hi… my name is Fred.

I was adopted July 16, 2014.

Okay, they say I’m rambunctious. Well, at only 6 months old I’m a big guy already, so between the exuberance of youth and a bit of heft, I must admit I am a handful.  But oh what a happy, people-loving handful! My dad adopted me when I was an 8-week-old and he was working on my training, but sadly he developed an illness that severely limited his physical abilities. I stayed with his brother for a while, but he had small kids and although I enjoyed them, my enthusiasm was a bit overwhelming. I’m an imposing black Lab/Mastiff mix boy who knows a few commands, walks well on leash, and am “easily trainable,” so I’ve got a good start on the basics already. Won’t you help me round them out in my own home?

Hi… my name is Blackie.

I was adopted on August 21, 2014.
After my dad had a stroke a while back, he found that he just wasn’t able to care for me any longer. It was super hard for him to make the decision to bring me here as he rescued me in Mexico three years ago and we have been best buddies since (he said, “A very lucky person will get this dog because he likes any human who shows an interest in him!”). I’m a little on the skinny side right now (even though I eat well) as I have tick fever, but I’m now getting medicine for that and should be fine in no time. I’m a lanky Doberman/shepherd mix boy who is well mannered in the house and on a leash. I get along great with everyone, so why not you?

Hi… my name is Lucky.

Lucky has earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Adopted July 10, 2015

My dad found me under a car when I was a puppy and kept me for four years, but recently when one of his other dogs started picking on me, he decided that I needed to find a “friendlier” home. Although I lived outside most of my life, I was allowed in the house occasionally (where I got along great with the kids but NOT the cats!), so it would be wonderful if I could find a home with a family that wanted me to be a bigger part of their lives. I’m a 42-pound shepherd mix girl, and although I may be a little reserved at the moment (things have changed awfully fast in my life!), I know that with love and patience, the “real me” will come shining through.

Arrived June 20, 2014.

Hi… my name is Chase.

Adopted March 16, 2015

Although I only lived with the family that adopted me for a short time, they said that I was very sweet and affectionate with people and simply LOVED car rides and long walks. I didn’t, however, get along with their cats or dogs, so they agreed that I needed to have a home where I could be “king of the hill.” I had a head start on good leash manners when I arrived, and now the volunteers are working on honing that skill along with quite a few others (I do a mean “sit” for a treat!). I’m an impressive, 85-pound yellow Lab/retriever mix (and I come with TALGV’s FREE  Vet Care for Life). I’m sure experienced “big dog” people will applaud the day they chose me!

Chase comes with TALGV’s FREE Vet Care for Life.

Arrived June 19, 2014.

Hi… my name is Princess.

I was adopted July 25, 2014.

You know when you meet me and I immediately roll over on my back to get belly rubs that I’m going to be one sweet and loving companion! A lady from Green Valley saw me pushed from a car in near I-19 in Tucson, and happily for me, she stopped, scooped me up, and brought me here. Whew! Without her that could have been a REALLY bad outcome for me! As a waif, there’s not too much I can tell you about my former life, but suffice it to say I’m outgoing and ever so eager to find a safe, lively home. I’m a young and a charming, 31-pound black Lab “in a smaller package” who promises to be the Velcro dog of your dreams. Just give me a chance!

Hi… my name is Sable.

I was adopted September 14, 2014.

When you arrive with a fractured pelvis, you can be sure you’re going to get LOTS of attention and love. No one knows for certain, but they think that a car hit me (I’m still leery of them), so I was in pretty sad shape. I’m living with a foster mom while I’m recuperating, and she says that I am a sweet, calm girl who loves other dogs (I like to steal their toys and take them to my bed!), get along great with kids, am crate trained, and am “working on” the scary doggy door. I’m a lovely young 25-pound Aussie mix girl, and although I have a little “hop” because of my accident (they say I’m “part rabbit”!), I get along fine anyway, so why not let it be with you?

Hi… my name is Sugar.

Adopted October 25, 2014.

Here’s my one wish in the world: when I “grow up” I want to be a lap dog! I’m only a pup but have led a pretty hard life, so I have a lot of catching up to do! I came to TALGV with a terribly infected eye (as you can see, it’s gone now, thank goodness) and two days later presented them with my (last!) brood of babies. I’m a whip-smart, medium-to-high energy, heeler/Lab mix girl (who prefers “the ladies” to the male of the species — something from my past, they think). I have nice leash manners and will bond very quickly with my new person, so if I can find someone who can spend lots of one-on-one of time with me, my life will be complete!

Hi… my name is Lucie Lu.

I was adopted July 20, 2014.
Thank goodness for Good Samaritans! I was just about to be taken to “the pound” by my owner (because he was unable to walk me any longer!), when a TALGV volunteer overheard the conversation and convinced him to relinquish me to him. That was MY lucky day, I can tell you! I’m a healthy, happy, smart, and affectionate  yellow Lab mix lady (with endearing Shar Pei-like ears!), and everyone agrees that I’ll be a wonderfully loving companion who will adapt beautifully to an active family. I don’t bark (at least no one has heard me yet!), am good with kids, and other dogs, so what’s stopping you? I know that if you come down to meet me you’ll be able to see all my sterling attributes for yourself!
