I am a young and energetic chihuahua boy who is looking for a new home. I most recently lived with a family who did not have time for me and I ended up spending too much time in my crate, which was very boring! I rather loved playing with the kids, running outside. I admit I occasionally ran away to do some exploring. They also said I need to learn to tell people when I have to go potty and to walk better when on a leash. I want to learn that! Can you teach me? Here at TALGV they say I am gentle and love to be the center of attention (which is just my due). Although “shabby chic” usually refers to a relaxed, well-worn style of décor, it pretty much used to describe me too! When I showed up on the doorstep of a home in Sahuarita, I was skinny, dehydrated, and the personification of “raggedy Andy.” Now I’ve morphed into the gorgeous guy I was destined to be, and with your help (lots of food, love, lap time, and an indoor-only home), I promise I’ll wow you! I’m a friendly, FIV-positive guy and even though I’m in a room with “Mr. Crabby” (who will remain nameless), I’m maintaining my cool and keeping a low profile, so I’d simply adore sharing that profile with YOU! Aruba

Hi… my name is Aruba,

Think warm sunshine and sandy beaches. That’s Aruba the Island. I’m Aruba the Beautiful. I have lovely torbie markings and a medium-length coat. Perhaps I’m named Aruba because I was found with my three babies as strays in the sand near a playground. We were brought into TALGV to receive their special brand of care. And so we have! My babies are all finding their own homes, and I’m waiting patiently for my forever home. Currently I’m shy and quiet, preferring my own cubby. However, when volunteers come in, they talk with me sweetly and I purr when they pet me. How perfect my life would be if you’d take me home to be yours!

After a short stay at TALGV I moved into foster care, and it’s just what I need… caring people to teach me the basics of living in a home. I know the commands “wait” and “sit” and love going for long walks (as an individual or in a pack). I’m currently sharing the home with the two resident dogs. It seems I may be a bit of a toy hog, but I remain a true gentleman. I’m well behaved, enjoy the company of people, and I’ve been loving towards my foster’s granddaughter. I’m still working on my greeting skills, but I’m never aggressive or prone to jump. My foster mom says I’m a “joy” to have in their home. I could be the joy in yours!

It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, when my canine traveling companion and I were trying to decide which direction to take. A kind fellow traveler stopped and offered to give us a ride. We accepted his generous offer, and because he had no idea where we were headed either, the decision was made to bring us to TALGV. I’m a friendly, handsome, male Staffie mix, who’s definitely giving thanks for being here, and I’m already looking forward to meeting YOU! I can use a doggie door, and one of my handlers mentioned I’m an “easy” walker. Even though my past education is unknown, if you’re willing to be patient and work with me, I could be that loving pal you’ve always wanted. Now, I’m ready to go home! Please, come and get me today.
