Hi… my name is Elijah Blue,

Adopted 10-14-17

“The silvery blue coat and brilliant green eyes of the Russian Blue draw immediate attention, but it’s the intelligent and playful disposition that makes them perfect pets for most households. They’re gentle cats with a somewhat shy nature around strangers, but are devoted to and affectionate with their loved ones. They’ll greet you at the door, find a quiet seat next to you, or fetch a toy at playtime. Relatively quiet-voiced (except perhaps at mealtime!), they appreciate a pat on the head, a window from which to watch the birds, and, of course, the comforts of home.” OK, no one knows for SURE that’s what I am because I was a stray, but I fit that description to a “T” so I know we’d make beautiful music together!

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 7-14-19

Buddy comes with Vet Care Support for Life

After my dear owner died, her daughter said this about me: “Buddy needs to know someone loves him. I don’t think he had a very good life before my mother adopted him.” But once I was with her, my life was blessed with care and understanding. I had two doggie housemates and our person loved us all! Now, alone again, I have some concerns. I’m head shy and sensitive to touch of my hind end, maybe from past injuries; please understand it’s not personal. We don’t know if I’d get along with other dogs now, and we don’t think I should be in a family with children. Most of all, I need kindness, patience, and the freedom to be me—an 11-year-old male, 59 pounds, who has learned what love is. May I share it with you?

Hi… my name is Cody,

Adopted 11-11-17

Did you know that orange tabbies (aka “marmalades”) are known as the Golden Retrievers of the cat world? Well, actually, I just made that up, but it’s true – ‘cause if we could, we’d wag our bodies just like they do and get out there and love on everyone we meet! And play? Let me tell you! So it’s hard to understand how my owners could have moved away and left me in the yard (especially since I’m declawed!), but maybe they assumed that I’m such a sweetie I’d find a new home in no time. Well I haven’t yet, but that’s because YOU haven’t met me, so make sure your next outing includes a visit to TALGV and see what you’ve been missing!

Hi… my name is Hilda,

Adopted 10-8-17

When I was lost, hungry and thirsty, I accidentally wandered into a dangerous place: The middle of a highway! Thankfully, my rescuer brought me here, where I’ve quickly put those difficult days behind me and made many new friends. The volunteers think I’m a Mastiff mix (82 pounds), and I do possess some of the great Mastiff qualities: I’m affectionate, good-natured and calm. Playful, too—I’ve lived with another dog here at TALGV and we’ve had lots of fun—and good on a leash, although naturally strong. I’m a 3-year-old black and beige female, who’s even more beautiful once you get to know me, and I hope that happens real soon. Granted, I’m not exactly a lap dog, but I’ll bring lots of love and laughter into your life. May I become yours today?

Hi… my name is Mitzie,

Mitzie has FREE Vet Care for Life

Hard to know which to look at first with me – my beautiful tri-color calico coat or my sea green eyes – ‘cause the combination is awesome! Couple my looks with my sweet gentle nature, and you’ve got one pretty irresistible package! After my mom died, I lived with her sister for a while, but she couldn’t keep me forever, so this bundle of beauty can now be yours! I’m a chatty 12-year-old declawed lady who loves to be brushed (“multiple times a day”!), absolutely adore playing with pompoms and catnip “anything,” and promise to be your very best friend (with free vet care!) in no time flat. I’ve never been around dogs or kids, so I’m guessing if it were just you and I life would be complete!

Hi… my name is Penny,

Adopted 10-28-18

Everyone knows that cats have diverse interests, but my mom said that catnip toys, catching bugs, and playing in my water bowl were my enduring favorites! I’ve lived with a dog and other cats (although I wasn’t crazy about them), but mostly I loved spending time next to mom in a chair so she could scratch my ears, head, and chin. She said I do tend to overeat (not a problem limited to cats!), so she fed me small portions of food a few times a day so I was always “full” (she wasn’t fooling me, I knew she was reducing my caloric intake!). I’m a lovely 7-year-old chocolate lady who’d love to diet and watch TV right along with you!

Hi… my name is Mandy,

Adopted 10-5-17

Things were crowded at home with four other dogs who played a little too hard for me. Oh, I generally got along well with those dogs, and the cats and horses, but I’m a gentle soul—shy until we become acquainted, and prefer cuddling to roughhousing, so it was decided that I’d be a better fit in a new home. At just 1 year old, I love to play, know commands like “sit,” “down” and “shake,” and will be happy going on long walks or just watching TV together. I’ve been good with kids ages 9 through 12, still unsure with younger children, and I’m leash trained. A 55-pound female, mainly black with white speckled paws, I’m a very loving and sweet dog whose biggest hope is that I’m the perfect companion for you!

Hi… my name is Indy,

Adopted 1-5-18

Up until now, the path to my forever home has taken some detours. I was rescued from my first home, but my second home already had three dogs and the four of us didn’t get along. There were happy times—my rescuer said I was good with her daughter, enjoyed playing ball, and behaved in the house when alone—so I’m bound to be a great fit in the right place. I can be reserved with strangers (maybe more likely with men), but once acquainted, I’ll open up to show the real me—lively, playful, and smart. (In training, I did a great job on my very first day!) I’m a 2-year-old Shiba Inu mix male, 37 pounds, whose greatest wish is to earn my forever home by being the faithful companion you love.
