Hi… my name is Magic,

Adopted 10-11-17

A stroke of luck—perhaps a magic moment—made me a TALGV dog. A volunteer was walking between the buildings when, out of the corner of her eye, she spied me running loose in a neighbor’s parking lot. She called and I happily ran to her. I’d probably been out in the hot weather for some time because my paw pads were swollen and peeling, so you can imagine how great these cool floors felt to me. And as glad as I am to be here, my new friends seem just as glad to have me! They say I’m adorable, calm, and attentive to my person. Just 5 months old, I’m a sweet tan and white female, about 35 pounds, who is ready for that best magic moment of all—when you make me yours.

Hi… my name is Bruno,

Adopted 12-23-17

Would you believe that more than one volunteer has fallen in love with me? It’s true! Oh, I understand—when you hear “87-pound American Bulldog male,” the word “adorable” may not leap to mind, but my new friends call me that. I think they get a kick out of knowing that while I’m big and may even look tough, I’m really an extraordinarily sweet and mellow guy. They see my big heart shining through and know that I’m a 4-year-old who likes to play (including getting sprayed with water), and especially appreciates the kindness of gentle people. Originally found in the pecan groves, I arrived with some health issues and while those are being addressed, I’m dreaming of the friend whose love lasts forever—the one who takes you home. Could that be you?

Hi… my name is Boom Boom,

Adopted with Firecracker 8-17-17

My happy little life had a dramatic and dangerous beginning. When we were just days old, my brothers and I were part of a remarkable rescue—twelve dogs (including six newborns) found in a vacant house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Our TALGV friends worked frantically to save us and they succeeded! Of course, Mom was with us the whole time—doing what she could to keep us going—and she will always be our number one hero. When rescued, I weighed less than 1 pound. Today I’m a growing, adorable male puppy with a black coat (Mom is a Poodle mix), lots to learn (I’m already really good at the nap-and-play-whenever-you-can thing), and irresistibly cute. When I’m ready, will you give me my new beginning in a happily-ever-after home with you?

Hi… my name is Liberty,

Adopted 8-18-17

Now that everything’s okay, I’m happy to be an Animal League star! My babies and I were part of a remarkable rescue—twelve dogs found in a vacant house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Our TALGV friends worked frantically to save us and they succeeded! Of course, like all good mothers, I did everything I could for my three babies and have kept it up once we were safely here. The volunteers (who’ve seen many litters) compliment me on being a very good and attentive mother. They also say that on my own—a young, blonde, 10-pound Poodle mix female—I’m an exceptionally sweet and adorable dog. So all’s well save for one thing: Now that my pups are all adopted, I’ll need a home of my own. Could you be the one to rescue me forever?

Hi… my name is Panther,

Adopted with Tomato 8-31-17

I’ll bet it’s not often that the top of your “best qualities” list is that you’re “a good hunter of flies!” Well, they also said that I’m friendly, social, and playful (I’m 4 months old – no way I’m going to be a couch potato!). I was seen being abandoned by someone who just opened a car door and pushed me out, so I’m one lucky girl that my rescuer scooped me up in time. I’m here with a whole constellation of kittens (and any one of us would be a star!), but I thought in case you were in the market for a “flycatcher,” I’d be the one you should choose!

Thanks for looking at my pictures. My biography is under construction. Please stop back again to read about me or… even better… stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Kennels are open 10-2 every day.

Hi… my name is Gracie,

Adopted with Beijing 11-1-17

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

If you’ve never been owned by a Siamese, here’s your chance! (And of course if you have, well, you’ll know what a golden opportunity this is!) My housemate, Beijing, and I lost our home because our mom’s health was declining, so we’ve got our baby blues focused at everyone and flashing our best “come hither” looks hoping to reel someone in! I’d really like to stay with Beijing if possible since I’m FeLV positive and should only be with others with that condition, but we’ve been together so long that everyone agrees it would be okay for us to stay together. I’m a 12-year-old lady who is as sweet as you’d imagine (and Beijing is too!), so won’t you give us a new start in life?

Hi… my name is Ranger,

Adopted 10-16-17

I like to think my dad would be proud of my excellent behavior at TALGV. After he died, rather suddenly, a kind lady brought me here, where I’ve quickly made new friends and earned lots of praise. The medical people said my behavior during my intake exam was “perfect!” And how am I on a leash? “Great!” Overall personality? “Sweet, nice and friendly.” I gather those adjectives are important to people, and I want to add one that’s real important to me: “Hopeful.” I’m a 3-1/2-year-old red Chow mix male, about 62 pounds, and every day I hope to be the dog someone wonderful will love. For me, the happiest life will be spent as somebody’s buddy for fun, for company, and for keeps. Could you be the one to take me home forever?

Hi… my name is Dana,

Adopted 9-3-17

You’ve probably heard that even among dogs, hounds are known for their exceptional sense of smell. So, since I appear to be a hound dog mix, maybe I was found near a store because I could smell dog food in there! (Like most lost dogs, I was hungry.) My rescuer kept me for two weeks while trying to find my owner, and she said I was okay with cats, good in the house, and leash trained. Once here, I was shy at first, but always sweet and glad for the company of people. A 1-year-old female, I have an athletic build (49 pounds), enjoy exercise, look good in my short easy-care coat, and please everyone with my good and gentle nature. I hope I’ll please you, too—in the happy home we share forever.
