“Landlord issues” and “moving” often don’t spell happiness for pets! When my dad had to move, my two best canine friends (a Staffie and a Chihuahua) and I had to move on,too, but unfortunately not with him. Dad said that the Chihuahua was “my baby” so I’ll bet that I’d do fine in a home with another small friend to nurture (in addition to you, of course!). I’m keeping a low profile for a while (change is hard for cats, you know), but I know in a new home, I’ll be ruling the roost in no time. My former owner could no longer care for my basic needs, so now I have a chance at a new home, where the basics and maybe even more will be given. There were 3 other dogs and 3 horses at my former place; they said I got along with other animals and the kids (ages 7 and 13). But I lived outdoors there, so you can imagine how much I’m enjoying indoor time—safe, dry and comfy! And the regular company of people is great. They seem to like me, too—especially my composed, mature manner. I’m a 3-year-old black Lab mix male, and under my calm demeanor, I’m yearning to be somebody’s best buddy. Could it be you? Boy, some older cats sure do forget how to play with youngsters! You’d think having a playful little bugger like me around would add a little zip to their lives, but in my case, the prissy old thing that I shared the house with just wasn’t having any of it. I know it was hard for my human mom to make the decision to relinquish me, but since I’m young (and gorgeous, they say!), she felt an active family, maybe with kids, would appreciate my antics and enthusiasm for life more than a settled one. Mom said I’m a “loving kitty” who adores all kinds of toys and sitting in your lap, so if life’s been a little dull for you lately, my goal is to rectify that!

I was found with a Hound mix female who looks a lot like me. After trying for two weeks to locate our home, our finder brought us here, where I’m happy to say Tanya, my female companion, has already been adopted. Now it’s my turn! I’m a good-looking 18-month-old Hound mix male, tan with white markings, medium-to-large in size. “Sit” is one command I already understand, and I’m eager to learn the other basics that good dogs know. Admittedly, I didn’t get along with my finder’s mini-pig, but my dog friend and I had lots of fun playing together. Plus, I’ve been called “people friendly,” and if that means I’d love to be your new best friend, then yes—that describes me perfectly. Let’s meet today just to see how great we’ll be together!
