Hi… my name is Bubba,

Adopted 10-23-16

Running around a wash can be fun for a while, but when you start to get hungry or thirsty, or can’t find shelter or protection, it’s no place to be. I know—I’m a 1-year-old pup who was rescued from a wash, a little shy and shaken at first, but now back to my lively, happy self. I’m a black and tan Rottweiler mix male, a slender 58 pounds; people tell me I’m handsome, but mainly I’m looking back at them, thinking, “we could have so much fun together!” My rescuers said I played and slept with their cat and dog, liked car rides, and was friendly with everyone. Here, I’ve had a kennelmate and lots of friends, but what I need is someone to love who’ll love me back forever. Someone like you!

Hi… my name is Mojo,

Adopted 11-5-16

Mojo has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I lived with my former people for six years, but one of them has a medical condition and can no longer take care of me, so I need a new home. Despite being shy, I’m adjusting to the change. One secret of my success? Dog treats! Being “treat oriented” helps me connect with people. And with or without treats, I know what to do when you say “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” and “shake.” Indeed, I’m so awesome in the behavior department that I’ve earned my Canine Good Citizen certificate! Human friends say I’m a very nice dog; my former people said I got along with their small female dogs and was best with children over 10. I’m a lovable 6-year-old Staffie mix male, 69 pounds, and I bet we could become best friends forever!

Hi… my name is Pixie,

Adopted 1-4-17

I’m a Chihuahua with a challenge. I weigh about twice what I should, so nutritious diet here I come! It’s something I truly want because getting in shape will help me feel better and play more. And here’s great news: I’m just 3 years old, so I’ve got lots of playing to do! These days, I love my special pink blanket and my toys—especially Pooh Bear, and here’s hoping that soon I’ll be able to have even more fun with toys and friends. Shy at first, after some time I welcome your attention—oh, who am I kidding, I love your attention, including being petted gently on my soft head. My new diet and activity schedule may transform me, but please don’t wait to be my friend. I’m ready to love you today!

Bug

Hi… my name is Bug,

Adopted October 12, 2016

“Downsizing” is not a word that pets want to hear! When my family moved to a smaller home, they couldn’t take both cats and dogs, so I guess I drew the short straw. I know it was a hard choice for them, because they said that I’m a very sweet (if at times shy) lady who got along fine with kids and other pets, was “very nurturing and mother-like,” and loved to be petted (although not picked up – they “respected my wishes” in that area!). Mom said, “She’ll let you know when she wants attention, and is a loving, happy girl who likes to sleep on beds, or in small, quiet, comfy places” (yes, very cat-like!). At 9 years old, I’ve got way more living to do, so let’s do it together!

Hi… my name is Claudette,

Adopted 1-26-18

The people who found me under their car were positive they’d find my owners (being the sweet beauty that I am!), but since posters and inquiries failed to turn them up, their loss is going to be your gain! I’m a little slip of a thing at only six pounds, so you’ll hardly feel me at all when I hop up into your lap. Everyone thinks I look a lot like a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat, but given my diminutive size, that’s unlikely (you never know, though, I could be the “mini-me” version of one of them!). So the “bottom line” is that I’m available, and if you get yourself on over here to meet me, well, life will be just peaches and cream for us both!

Hi… my name is Teaka,

Adopted September 19, 2016

When I grow up, I want to be a dog like my mom—playful but calm, eager to please, and fun-loving, too. And you know what? I think I’m off to a good start! Mom is a beautiful Border Collie mix, and she’s been a wonderful mother. Even though she was a stray when found, she gave all her babies excellent care and teaching. For instance, on a walk recently, one of my siblings got too far away. Mom didn’t panic or get mad, but she barked at him until we were together again. That’s the kind of smart, devoted dog I want to be! I’m a delightful female, black and white, now about 24 pounds, and if you make me yours, we can make each other happy for a long time to come!
