Animal League News

Hi… my name is Harley,

SENIOR DOGS COME WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Sure, puppies are cute, but they are a lot of work: 2 am wake-up calls, chewed belongings, potty accidents, and don’t forget, they need training. Skip the chaos. Wouldn’t you rather wake up on your schedule? Go for a hike on a nice day or perhaps binge-watch your favorite show without worrying about your shoes being chewed or finding potty accidents? Why not skip the hard work and enjoy the fun and companionship of an adult dog: ME! My resume includes lots of experience living in a foster home. I’m housetrained, have impeccable manners, don’t chew things, don’t jump on people, adore kids, love walks and car rides. So what if I’m not a fan of other 4-leggeds? I’m all you need. The icing on the cake? I come with Vet Care Support for Life!  (bio rev 8-17-25)

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Smitty,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

When my human mom became ill and could no longer care for me, she brought me to The Animal League. Although sad to lose my home, I am being well-cared for here. Mom said about me: “Smitty is very laid back and sweet.  He loves to walk by you and rub his head on you. He is good with other cats, dogs, turtles, and birds. He’s lazy and loves head scratches and treats. He can sleep anywhere but usually on his cat bed.” Recently, I was diagnosed with diabetes so am in foster care receiving special medical treatment. But, hey, that won’t stop me from loving you! TALGV now gives me vet care support for life. Let’s make arrangements to meet soon.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may  call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Whimsey,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

When I arrived at The Animal League, I had no idea my stay would be this long. I now have Vet Care Support for Life. In my previous home, I loved to play with my toy mouse and wand toys. I could be a sweet lap cat for a few minutes, but I tended to swat when perturbed. Do you suppose that was because I was originally found as a stray by a young woman who couldn’t keep me? Her dogs scared me! I’m okay with other cats. My favorite place here is atop my cat tree observing life passing by. My wish: a fur-ever home!                    (Dec. 2024)

Hi… my name is Foxy,

SENIOR DOGS COME WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

I’m a 12-year-old female Red Heeler with Vet Care Support for Life. My foster mom admits my reputation at TALGV for being “highly selective” in who I like is well earned, but I can be lovable with the right person. I’m good when left alone, ask to go out, know “sit,” “leave it,” “crate,” and “come.” I enjoy walks and love going to the park, even though I don’t like riding in cars. I may know a lot of neighborhood dogs but I usually try to ignore them. I guard my human, food, miscellaneous objects, and space, so we avoid close encounters. When guests arrive, I get a timeout in my crate or another room. If you’re preferably a female who’s willing to make some provisions, we should meet. I may be “unique,” but if you can adjust to my idiosyncrasies, we should get along just fine.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Andy,

ANDY HAS BEEN AT TALGV OR MORE THAN 2 YEARS AND COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE.

I’m extremely intelligent and great at problem-solving – sometimes a little too good. I can open doors, figure things out quickly, and have mastered “puppy dog eyes” to extract treats from you. Like many brainy types, I come with a few quirks: kids make me anxious, I’m socially awkward outside my trusted inner circle, and I strongly dislike wind and passing vehicles (unless I’m riding in one, obviously). I need to be your one-and-only pet, as I prefer having all the attention and thrive best without other animals. My ideal home is adult-only, calm, and predictable, with limited visitors, a secure backyard, water to splash in, and humans who enjoy high-energy games of fetch that would impress most athletes. I’m housetrained, crate-trained, respectful indoors, and—because I’m a longtime resident—I come with Vet Care Support for Life.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Sunlight.

Adopted December 19, 2014.

There’s nothing like having a name that you live up to, and boy do I do mine justice! Someone adopted me from PACC a while ago because I was micro-chipped, but the lead didn’t pan out, so I’m here waiting to spread some sunlight in YOUR life! A woman in the Villas East fed me on her patio for about three months, but winter was coming, and since she wasn’t “in the market” for a feline (she had a small dog that I got along swimmingly with though), she brought me here. She said that I was very friendly (well, food and a lap you know!) and she was sure I’d be a wonderful (indoor only please!) companion for some lonesome person. If that’s you, come let me purr sweet nothings in your ear!

Arrived November 25, 2014.
