Animal League News

Hi… my name is Brock,

If you are looking for the epitome of charm, look no further! My last owner, who had to give me up because they are moving, says I’m affectionate and am gentle with kids. I also play well with other cats.  I love to snuggle and play with a laser pointer.  When you pet me, I roll over for tummy rubs and purr. What else could you want? I’m a cute orange boy who recently had extensive dental work, and now I’m on a soft food diet. I came through all that without losing my loving personality, and I perk up whenever people come my way.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Being outside is not for me! Someday soon I’d like to have another home. Are you looking for me? I’m looking for you! Please come take me home!

Hi… my name is Bryce,

Young, single male with no dependents, seeking a forever family who understands that young dogs need exercise, training, and a sense of humor to be their best selves. When I got bigger, someone said I was “too much puppy,” but I think that just means I have lots of energy and feelings and didn’t get enough help learning what to do with them. I have already experienced living in a home, so I’m familiar with couches, doors, and polite manners. I walk nicely on a leash, love people, and get along great with other dogs—especially playful ones who enjoy wrestling, chasing, and Olympic-level playtime. I’m smart, affectionate, and ready to commit. If you’re willing to invest time and consistency, I promise to return the favor with loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of tail wags.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Chi Chi,

Boo! Hoo! My human broke some bones and could no longer care for me. He did love me well for three years, so I learned to be sweet and affectionate. In fact, I’m a trained lap cat. I love all the attention you can generate. We used to have breakfast and then do grooming (daily brushing). Yes, I have a good appetite – that’s why I’m a 13-pound beauty! I’m friendly and outgoing. I will lean into your petting me and I like to play catch with my “baby” mouse. If you’re looking for your next lap cat, I’m here waiting for you at The Animal League.

Bug

Hi… my name is Bug,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Are you looking for a distinguished older cat? Well, look no further. I’m a beautiful, affectionate tabby cat with white muzzle and bib. I’ve been described as a sweet, big “baby” boy (weighing in at 19#). When I arrived at The Animal League, I had my share of health problems, including dental issues, which have all been addressed. My previous owner called me “Gato” which is cat in Spanish. So, I guess I’m bilingual. I’m a gentle giant who will meet and greet your visitors. I come with Vet Care Support for Life, so I’ll be easier on your pocketbook. Come meet me soon and call me yours!

Hi… my name is Caramel,

I’m a beautiful Torbie – that means I have a coat of many colors, with an orange waistband of fur around my middle. I forgot to smile when they took my picture, so I look grumpy. Initially I’m shy but will warm to a gentle touch. I like playing with stick toys, watching TV, and cuddling with my human. I’ll purr for you when you pet me around my face and chin. I used to live with two teenagers, so kids are okay with me. My sister, Cinnamon, and I no longer get along, so she and I are here at The Animal League waiting for new separate homes. Want to come cuddle with me?

Hi… my name is Maya,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Have you admired my unique coat yet? I’m a gorgeous blotchy white and grey Ragdoll. I lived in a home with dogs and my former owner says I’m a very nice cat. I experienced stresses in my life before arriving at TALGV. This showed up in inappropriate litter box behaviors. Now that I am living at TALGV, I seldom have a problem with that. I’m a little shy right now but have warmed up quickly with the volunteers who like to pet and brush my soft coat. I approach them and purr. Do you have a home in need of my presence?  Please come see me!

Hi… my name is DeDe,

I lived with my human for the past two years, but health issues forced a change for both of us. They say I’m aloof with strangers, but here at The Animal League I’m trying to do better. I don’t run away but I’m still learning how to react to petting and brushing. Sometimes it’s too much for me. I will talk to you and I really like cat trees. I’m a middle-aged girl with a pretty tabby coat with a white bib and feet. I’d love to find a home where I can relax and let my better nature shine through!

Hi… my name is Cash,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Are you an experienced dog owner or couple who understands that some dogs need personal space and routine? I’m one of those dogs and we should talk! I’m a big guy, worth my weight in gold, who prefers a quiet, structured home where I can feel safe. I love my walks and daily routine, but I need a patient person who respects my boundaries—like when I ask for affection by rubbing my face against you. I’m treat-motivated, eager to learn, independent, and, true to my breed, sometimes a bit stubborn. I’d love a secure backyard with a doggy door and a kiddie pool to cool off in the summer. Bonus! I have Vet Care Support for Life! If you think we’d be a good fit, my foster family and I would love to meet you!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Snooky,

I’m a gentle, thoughtful girl who prefers to take life at a slower, quieter pace. I’ve been feeling a bit scared in the shelter, so I’m now staying in a calm foster home with an older, laid-back dog while I decompress and figure things out. Honestly? It’s been a relief. When the shelter volunteers tried to introduce me to a friendly dog, I let them know I wasn’t ready yet. I believe in boundaries. Shy dogs like me need time to build trust and that trust is worth waiting for. I learn best by watching the world before jumping into it, taking notes from the sidelines. With patience, kindness, and consistency, I know I’ll come out of my shell. I may be quiet at first, but my loyalty runs deep.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Opal,

I’m a naturally curious pup who likes to take the world in one thoughtful moment at a time. Having a calm, easygoing doggy friend by my side would be perfect for me—it helps me feel safe, grounded, and a little more confident as I explore new things. I’m slowly learning that humans aren’t nearly as scary as I once believed, and I’m beginning to suspect they might actually be kind, patient, and very generous with treats (which I consider a great character trait for 2 leggers). Beneath my cautious exterior lives a soft curiosity, a quiet sweetness, and a gentle sense of humor that reveals itself if you’re paying close attention. I may not rush into the spotlight, but once I trust you, my warmth shines through in subtle, meaningful ways. I’m the kind of pup who blossoms with patience, consistency, and love—and I promise the reward is worth the wait!

Hi… my name is Whirl,

My life has been in a tailspin since I escaped. I was investigating something that looked interesting. Now I’m furious because I was so curious! It was a mouse trap, and it caught me! A caring person took me to the vet, who released me to The Animal League (so important to have a microchip!). My original owner had adopted me from The Animal League in 2024, and I lived a happy life with him and Cabasa (another cat), until he passed away. I’m recovering now after losing a few toes. I’m a little less curious, but still sweet and loving. I believe with patience I can thrive again in a safe home. Yours?
