Animal League News

Hi… my name is Sheriff,

Who was that masked cat? Why, it’s me! I have an orange nose with white cheeks. I’m not a criminal, and I wasn’t arrested. I had a delightful home, but the little girl I lived with developed allergies. You guessed it! I had to go! So, if your family includes dogs and kids, I’m good with that. I may take my time to get comfortable with you, but I’m worth it! I live to play, I’m gentle with kids, and I will cuddle up with you once you’re no longer a stranger to me. Won’t you release me from The Animal League? I’d love to go home with you.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Jetta,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My kittenhood history is a mystery! I was found as a stray and brought to The Animal League for safety and care. A nice man adopted me back in 2022, but he passed away. So, here I am again. I’m a green-eyed girl in good health with 3-year vaccines that will not be due again until 2028. I’m a friendly feline (on my terms) who will rub against your legs for attention. Since I’ve been waiting here for over 2 years, I now come with Vet Care Support For Life which covers many medical expenses. I’m looking for a quiet home in which to roost. How about yours?

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may  call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Odie,

I’m a mature gentleman of 9 years old and still have places to go and people to charm. I’m basically a tiny celebrity with an adorable underbite and a growing fan club. I know several commands, enjoy walks, and believe every dog deserves spa treatments like brushing, massages, and being told how handsome they are. I’ve enjoyed hanging out with smaller dogs, but prefer my toys and snacks to remain under my personal security detail. Cats and I aren’t fond of each other. I am cautious with new people at first, but once you become an official “Odie Friend,” you’re family. One final note: I occasionally leave ‘pee mail’ indoors. Fortunately, fashion-forward pants solve the problem beautifully. If you’re looking for a dog with a big personality, charm, and bonus underbite, I’m accepting applications!

Tux

Hi… my name is Tux,

When our humans could no longer care for us, a bunch of us felines ended up here. Not that I’m complaining! It’s nice here but, of course, I’d like a home of my own. I’m used to living with other cats and a dog. I’m somewhat shy with people so I’ve been hanging out on a high wall perch, but you can pet my body. I’m not wild about contact on my head; I’ve had some dental work, you know. My owner said I like to be petted at night just before bed. My name describes me to a T: black and white, just like a tuxedo.

Hi… my name is Tango,

When my human had to move, I also had to find a new home. Luckily I came to The Animal League!  I’m very shy but my previous owners earned my trust and I slept by them. Here I’m pretty confused, but I let the volunteers pick me up, pet me and brush me. I’m OK with other cats and lived with a dog. I’m a cute orange tabby with just a few miles on me, and a desire to find a new home with a nice person. If you’re in the market for a sweet, middle-aged boy, I’m the one!

Hi… my name is Loaf,

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH BONDED COMPANION GUS

Want twice the love and affection? Gus and I await you at The Animal League. We had a loving home until the new baby arrived (dogs and all). Gus began overgrooming himself until he began to look like bald lion! As for me, I’ve kept my beautiful long soft fur in place. I’ve got a huge plume-like tail, yellow eyes, and a small patch of white fur on my chest. I’m a friendly guy, in the prime of life, who likes pets and daily brushing. I may be shy at first but enjoy being picked up and held once I get to know you. We’re amazing critters!

Gus

Hi… my name is Gus,

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH BONDED COMPANION LOAF

Are you looking for twice the love and affection of felines? Here we are! I’m a sweet and gentle boy in the prime of my life who loves pets, playing, and will give you kisses. If it’s okay with you, I’ll even perch on your shoulders. In our last home, Loaf and I lived with a family who had dogs, but the new baby really pushed my anxiety buttons. I started “stress grooming” which has made my fur look patchy and bald in places (I’m told it will grow back). Won’t you please come rescue us? We need a new place to call home a.s.a.p.

Hi… my name is Cindy,

Who pulled the rug out from under me? I had a home for six years, but my human had to move away and took me to The Animal League. Of course, I was not a happy camper. Would you be? It’s true that I’m independent and very shy, but I’m a good girl around the litter box. I’m looking for a quiet home where I can be content watching the birds and other activities from a sunny window. Previously, I lived with other cats and a dog, so if you have other pets that’s okay with me. My name is Cindy. Could I be your Cinderella?

Hi… my name is Gunther,

I may have started as the runt of the litter, but nobody told me I was supposed to stay small in spirit. I was found abandoned in a box with my siblings, and now I’m making up for lost time by living life at full speed. I’m playful, curious, affectionate, and always ready for the next adventure. My foster home has been the ultimate training ground—I’m learning how to be a proper member of the household while hanging out with kids, dogs, cats, and even reptiles. Basically, I think everyone is a potential friend. I may be smaller right now, but I’m expected to grow into a 40-pound boy, give or take. Trust me, this bio can’t capture all my awesomeness—call TALGV and ask to set up an appointment to meet me!

Hi… my name is Brittney (aka Currant),

Hi there, future best friend. I’m your neighborhood brindle-and-white beauty with a smile so dazzling it should probably come with sunglasses. My favorite hobby? Scooting right next to you and soaking up all the pets you’re willing to give. Ear scratches, back rubs, shoulder leaning? I’m an expert in all three. I’m friendly, sweet, and fully committed to being your shadow and emotional support sidekick. Whether we’re binge-watching shows, taking walks, or simply hanging out together, I promise to make every day warmer and cozier. Hi… my name is Xena,

Some dogs leap into life like it’s a parade. Me? I take the quiet side street. When my family lost their home, I landed at TALGV, unsure of everything. I’m a soft, fluffy girl with a shy heart, and I do best when life moves slowly. In my foster home, I’ve shown that I’m a peaceful, easy roommate. I love cozy beds, calm mornings, and being near my person. I’m house-trained, prefer staying indoors, and enjoy simple pleasures like mealtime games and gentle affection. What may help me is having another calm, friendly canine companion to give me confidence and help remind me to enjoy being a dog. If you have a low-key home and a kind dog to show me the way, I may be your perfect match.
