Hi… my name is Buttercup,

When you meet me, you will notice my glistening fur coat with unique markings. You’ll have plenty of time to look because I won’t let you out of my sight! I will rub up against for you for pets and more pets. I crave attention and respond with a chirpy meow. I’ve had several humans in my life. It seems something always happens that I don’t fit into their lifestyle. So, I’m hoping that you will be my human that will provide me with my “fur-ever” home. If you want a friendly, front declawed cat, I’m your gal!

Hi… my name is Dasher,

When our humans could no longer care for us, a bunch of us felines ended up here. Not that I’m complaining! It’s nice here but, of course, I’d like a home of my own. I’m used to living with other cats and a dog, and I’m quickly making friends with the other cats in my room. I’m somewhat shy with people but you can touch me. My owner said I usually like to be alone, but I like to be petted at night. Somewhere along the way all of my teeth were removed so I eat soft foods. I have a sleek black coat and bright yellow eyes. Please come to meet me.

Hi… my name is Florence,

Well, I got started early. I’ve already been a mama but no more of that for me! They found me as a stray and I’m happy to be inside and safe, and to get regular meals. I’m working on trust of humans.  I’ve been sleeping in a corner under a cat tree, and the volunteers have stroked me with a wand—but no brushing (yet)! I have a pretty coat of many colors and I’m petite. I’m hoping to find a quiet home where I can build up trust with someone and become a companion. Can you give me a try?

Hi… my name is Mango,

Our human failed us – we were abandoned for over a month! Can you imagine being left behind! A kind lady brought us (Coconut and me) to The Animal League. We were lost; we were terrified. I only had Coconut by my side. Then she had kittens and was taken to a foster home. Well, what about me? I’m neutered and microchipped now. I’m eating well, but still not well adjusted to life in a shelter. Would you like a challenge? I’m hiding out in a wall cubby waiting for that special someone to help me trust again and give me a real home. Could that be you?

Hi… my name is Sugar,

If I’m a little shy when we first meet, I hope you’ll understand. Once upon a time I was lost and had to be very careful. But here at TALGV, I’m growing more comfortable every day. My TALGV friends tell me I’m adorable and that helps. As a young adult I continue to learn but already know some important things. For instance, I appear to be housetrained as I “go” on my walks here, I’ve been good on a leash and understand the word “stay.” And here’s a secret:  I’m what they call food motivated. In other words, treats often hold my interest and make me happy.  I’m a female Pug mix with a tan coat and sparkling brown eyes who’d really like to meet you. Maybe you and I could share many happy times together.

Hi… my name is Tilly,

I was spotted hanging out near a coffee shop. In addition to being lost, I didn’t have my wallet and was hoping to get a pup cup. Lucky for me, a kind human brought me to safety.  I was scared at first, even when volunteers assured me that they’d help me find a new family, I was skeptical, I admit. It turns out, the volunteers are smarter than I initially gave them credit for because they figured out I Iike to make friends with other dogs AND that I like playing in water. I’m a completely different pup. Now, I’m all about zoomies, chase games, and practicing my water ballet skills. All that’s missing? You. If you have a playful dog and a kiddie pool, ask for Tilly. You bring the love, I’ll bring the silly!

Hi… my name is Midnight,

I promise to bring you comfort during any hour of the day! I’m a shy girl at first, the kind who politely observes before joining in or approaching, but once I feel safe, my sweet side quietly shines. I’m a gentle girl with a soft heart and even softer eyes. I’ve got these adorable little white markings on my chest and paws—like I dipped my toes in bright moonlight. I’m not the loud, center-of-attention type; I’m more of a calm companion who’ll sit with you, listen without interrupting, and make your days feel a little softer. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key best friend who loves deeply (just a bit quietly at first), I think we might be perfect together.

Hi… my name is Jacob,

Not too long ago, I lived out in the desert, taking care of myself and staying far away from people. Upon my arrival at TALGV, I was so reserved that nobody knew if I was a boy or girl for several days. Everything felt uncertain. But slowly, I’ve started discovering good things. Toys are fun. Kiddie pools are amazing. Walking with dog friends and kind humans makes me feel brave. I’m learning commands, routines, and that trust can grow slowly and safely. I’m not the kind of dog who will rush into your arms on day one. I need patience, understanding, and time. If you let me learn at my own pace, I could become the very best friend you’ve ever had. Stay tuned for more updates on my journey, “How to be a Dog.”                                                                                                                 (5-2026)

Hi… my name is Orion,

Hi! I’m a constellation of confusion! I was a stray and got rounded up to cat jail where my gender was neutered. Then I was transferred to The Animal League so I could find a home. I’m a real mellow fellow who takes life in stride – a sweet and easy-going guy. I have buff orange fur on my face, ears, and tail. When they assessed me, they found out that I am FIV+. Not to worry, many cats live quite well with this virus, and I come with Vet Care Support for Life which will help with my future care. Are you adopting today? How about me?
