Animal League News

Hi… my name is Jose,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

FIV POSITIVE

My caretakers lost their home and then I lost mine! It was hard to believe that I was abandoned at a people shelter! After a bit of shuffling, I was eventually brought to The Animal League, where I’m getting excellent care. Even though I’m old and gray, I still have lots of love to give. Although I’m very shy, I still enjoy being petted. Because of my age and my positive FIV status, I come with Vet Care Support for Life. I’m a good boy who loves wet food. Would you take a chance with me? Look for me in a sheltered corner.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Sheba,

In Hebrew my name means “oath,” which feels pretty fitting because if you adopt me, I fully intend to make an unbreakable oath to steal your heart. I’m a black and white heeler mix with a big personality packed into a friendly, goofy, tail-wagging package. I love people, I love attention, and I especially love making you laugh when I do something delightfully silly—like zooming in circles for no clear reason other than joy. I’m the kind of dog who greets life with enthusiasm and a slightly chaotic sense of humor. One minute I’m charming you with my sweetness, the next I’m reminding you that playtime is non-negotiable. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a silly streak and a whole lot of love to give, I think we’re meant to be.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Libby,

I’m a tan Belgian Malinois mix with a gentle heart and a slightly shy spirit. Watch me perform powerfully humorous one-legged bicycle kicks when you give me wonderful back scratches! Once I warm up (and trust me, back scratches are the fastest way to my heart), I turn into a loyal, affectionate companion who will stick by your side like your favorite song on repeat. I may not be the loudest in the room, but I’ve got a quiet charm that sneaks up on you—in the best way. I’ll nuzzle noses with you, follow you around like a quiet shadow, and happily accept every back scratch you’re willing to give. If you’re patient, kind, and appreciate a slow-blooming friendship, I promise I’ll be your sweetest, most devoted duet partner.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Amanda,

First impressions can be deceiving.  TALGV volunteers thought I was excessively fearful. And I was. I thought the world was a little too big and a little too scary, so I kept myself tucked safely away. But guess what? With a little patience, kind humans, and a friendly canine roommate, I found my brave… and my FUN! Now I’m a bubbly, happy girl who loves exploring on walks, making new friends, and showing off my joyful side. These ears aren’t just for looks—they’re always listening, especially for my favorite words: “It’s time to go home!” A canine buddy helps me shine, so I’d love a friendly dog to share adventures (and zoomies!) with. I’m still a sensitive sweetheart underneath it all, but I’m ready to love big, trust deeply, and be your happiest little sidekick.

Hi… my name is Katie,

Your future best friend and professional treat connoisseur is right here! I’m an outgoing, tail-wagging social butterfly who believes every human is just a friend I haven’t sat for yet. Speaking of sitting—ask me nicely and I’ll plop down like a polite little lady, especially if snacks are involved. I’m spunky, silly, and proudly rocking an underbite smile that could melt the iciest hearts (and maybe earn me an extra biscuit or two). I love making people laugh with my goofy charm and adorable expressions. Life with me means daily giggles, cozy cuddles, and a loyal companion who’s always excited to see you. If you’re looking for a cute, quirky sidekick with big personality, I’m your girl. Let’s make every day brighter together—treats included, of course. I promise to sit, stay, and steal your heart forever.

Hi… my name is Nate,

The folks who found me in their garage did the right thing to bring me here to The Animal League. When I arrived, I needed a little work on my long black and white coat. I do like brushing so that’s good. I had some trouble “settling in” here at first, but since then I respond to petting and brushing with purrs. I’ve found a cozy cubby on a cat tree to call my own. However I’d really like to find more spacious accommodations where I can get comfortable. Why not come meet me and see if we can make an arrangement?

Hi… my name is Lucy,

My owner was going into a care facility so I was brought here to find a new home. I needed a little work on my coat and I am pretty large. I’m a pretty soft grey girl with a little bit of white around my mouth. I’m not adjusting quickly to my new environment and tend to hide, hissing when given attention. In my home, however, I slept in my owner’s bed and had a feline roommate. I’m quiet and shy by nature so I think I’d do best in another quiet home where I could get some TLC. Given the opportunity I think I would recover my serenity!

Hi… my name is Lancelot,

I’m still looking for my knight in shining armor. I’ve been at The Animal League since I was an orphaned as a kitten. Now I’m one and a half years old. It’s true that I’m a shy guy and I have trust issues. It’s hard for the volunteers to even touch me. Would you like a special project? I’ve grown into a sleek lanky boy who needs his first home. I have a lovely tuft of white fur on my chest, which contrasts with my black body. I’ve been “fixed,” had all my shots, and I’m ready to go! Come call me yours and take me out! (2/26)

Hi… my name is Jan,

If you’re wondering if I’m named after the middle sister from The Brady Bunch, you’d be right! I’m a shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a shy streak, which just means I like to take my time getting to know new friends. Once I feel comfortable, my sweet side really shines, and I’ll happily stay close by your side like your quiet little shadow. I enjoy calm moments, soft encouragement, and the occasional treat (okay, I might perk up quite a bit for snacks). I’m not the loudest pup in the room, but I’m full of warmth, loyalty, and quiet charm. If you’re looking for a thoughtful companion who will love you deeply and appreciate the simple things, I’d love to come home with you and start our own happy story together!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Cindy,

Yes, I’m like the sweet little sister from the Brady Bunch, but with fewer pigtails and way more tail wags. I’m a gentle, shy girl who prefers to take new things slow, but once I feel safe, my sweetness really shines. I might not be the life of the party right away, but I’m definitely the cozy heart of it. I enjoy quiet moments, soft voices, and the occasional treat. I’m the kind of pup who will bond deeply with my person and make everyday life feel a little softer and warmer. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a tender spirit and a subtle sense of humor, I just might be your girl. Want to help me write my happy ending?

Hi… my name is Tomfoolery,

When my owner passed away I was brought to The Animal League along with my roommate. I’m a little scared right now! I’ve been hiding out where I can feel safe. When you approach, I may hiss, but if you speak softly, you might be able to stroke me with a wand. I know I need more time to adjust—but I’m hoping I can do my adjusting in a new home where I can feel safe again. I have a fluffy coat, brown tabby and white. I need a patient human who can love me and help me feel comfortable.
