Hi… my name is Miata (aka Bella),

Adopted 12-2-18

“Miata follows you around the house like a puppy (watch your feet!), loves belly rubs, likes to get up onto high places, knows how to open cabinets and closet doors, and likes spending lots of lap time. She also is really quick and would love to dart outdoors, so be careful of open doors!” (In other words, I’m really smart!) Take all that and add in the fact that I got along with the dog and female cat (but NOT the male cat for some reason – sadly, that’s the reason I’m back here at TALGV!), and you have the perfect package! At almost 2 years of age, think how rosy our futures will be together!

PS Yes, those are my baby pictures at the end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Tripp,

Adopted 2-7-19

You could say I appeared out of nowhere! Of course, that’s not really true, but we don’t know how I ended up in someone’s yard. (My finder has four other dogs, so that might have led me there.) Next stop was TALGV, and some tender loving care. My left ear was torn, I had a sore spot between a couple toes, and I was real dirty. How I loved the massage of that first bath! Through it all, volunteers said, I was sweet and gentle. Oh, I’m strong on the leash, but a good walker, too. Best of all, I love companionship—maybe that’s what makes me a loving companion in return. I’m a young guy (born in 2016), but calm and patient as I wait here for you—the person who’ll love me back.

Hi… my name is Missy,

Adopted 11-26-18

It makes a big difference if kittens have had a mom around during their formative years to teach them good manners. Unfortunately, I didn’t get enough of that education, so I’m going to need a savvy, “cat person” who can be a surrogate. I’m a gorgeous 5-month-old classic calico, who’s very active (surprise!), likes to sit in your lap and purr (for short periods!) and loves toys (well, everything’s toy, isn’t it?). I’m hopeful you’ll be the kind of person who thinks that some “education time” invested will be double the reward in forever “wonderfulness,” ‘cause If you ask me, I’m just a gem that needs polishing!

Hi… my name is Patches,

Adopted 12-20-18

“One sweet, lively boy.” That’s how I’ve been described here, and I go along with that. Oh, I’m not an athlete—much better suited to the “let’s have some easygoing fun at home” lifestyle. For that, I’m a great companion—loving, sometimes funny, and just happy to be with you. Granted, I’m not perfect. In my previous home, I did not get along with the older dog there. But my former people said I was crate-trained, leash-trained, asked to go outside, and good in the house when they were gone. I like to learn and have been cooperative with new friends here. At 55 pounds, I’m somewhat strong, still young (born in January 2018), with that distinctive Terrier mix look. So what do you say? Can we meet and see if we’re good together?

OLIVER is a handsome, smart, and friendly 3-year-old, 50-pound Border Collie mix that needs a new home with someone who is home most of the time. He loves people, but has separation anxiety if left home alone so must be in a strong kennel if owner needs to be away for an extended period. He is good with other dogs, cats, and children. Oliver is micro-chipped, neutered, and shots are up to date. He is housebroken, but he only will potty on his twice-a-day walk. He loves to run and, if left unattended, would jump over a 5-foot wall. He is very smart and would love to have additional training. There is no adoption fee for this special guy. If you would welcome Oliver into a loving home as part of your family, please call Tammy at 520-312-5044.

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted by The Humane Society 11-25-18

We could say my story started the day I was rescued from the road—running alone, without a safe place to go. My finder said I was friendly and loved her dogs on the one day we spent together. Here, I was shy and trembling at first, but liked the people right away; they stroked my soft coat, told me I’m an adorable dog who someone will love real soon. I was too thin back then (now up to 34 pounds), and not a picky eater—daily meals are a great habit! I’ve learned a couple of commands—sit, come—and because I truly want to be a people-pleaser, I’ll learn more. One thing I know already: I want to go to that place where love lives, and I think that’s home with you.

Hi… my name is Desert,

Adopted 11-3-18

I used to live outside, tied up, and so just being free in my run here is nice. My former person doesn’t have room for me now, but she left me with lots of compliments, saying I’m a very loyal dog, gentle and playful—pretty good at catching a ball, if I say so myself—got along with other animals, and know commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” Plus, I’m housebroken—good to know, and has been true here at TALGV, too. I’m a Hound mix male, white with a tan eye patch, who wants you to know one special thing: I don’t need a fancy place. I just need a place called home, and if you’re my person, home will be wherever you are. May we please be happy together?

Hi… my name is Jessica,

Adopted 11-26-18

There are myriad reasons why people have to surrender their pets, but having a new roof and ceilings added was a first for TALGV! Apparently it was going to be a long (and very noisy!) time, so for my “mental health” my mom decided a new home would be easier on me. Understandably, I’m pretty discombobulated right now, but I’m a “work in progress,” so one of these days I’m betting I’ll be my old self again. I lived with my senior mom and a dog, so another quiet home would suit me to a “T.” I’m not a serious lap sitter, but do like affection and bedtime snuggles, so won’t you give this 2-year-old gal a second chance?

Hi… my name is Blue,

Adopted 11-10-18

From where I sit (or stand, jog or jump!), life is an adventure to be explored and enjoyed. I’m sure that some day I’ll be a long-term couch potato, and I know how that feels; I tucker out at some point every day, but I’m usually a high-spirited guy. My boundless energy makes me a great pal for activities like playing, walking, hiking, jogging–I’m your guy for fun! And my endearing silly streak is good for laughs along the way. The woman who found me discovered that I know commands like sit, paw, and lay down, but I had a weakness—I went after chickens, so please be mindful of that if you have poultry. Otherwise, I’m raring to go as your guy for happy trails and good times ahead for you and me.
