Hi… my name is James.

Adopted October 11, 2014.

I’m really happy there are people out there hiking around Elephant Head, because that’s how my sister, Jesse, and I ended up here. We were sitting at the DeAnza trailhead when he left and when he came back, so I’m glad he didn’t think leaving us was an option! If you know Australian cattle dogs, then you’ll know we’ve got smarts galore, and in addition to that we’re loyal and loving. It’s pretty obvious that I haven’t missed too many meals, so perhaps a bit of a diet (and WAY more exercise) should be on the agenda for me. Wouldn’t you like to provide that? I know I’ll love you for it!

Arrived August 13, 2014.

Hi… my name is Clyde,

Adopted 11-13-17

Clyde earned his Canine Good Citizen certificate on February 9, 2016.

I arrived at TALGV in August of 2014, and I’ve learned a lot since then! Now, my TALGV friends are proud to announce that I have earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate. I know all the special commands, can be left alone without whining, and will let my people brush and handle me when asked. I’m an exuberant guy and truly love my walks, usually trotting right next to my human, but I need a strong person on the other end of my leash, someone who’s even better trained than I am! A handsome chocolate and white Staffie mix, I’ve lots of love to give the one who’ll continue to teach me on a regular basis—I love attention. Are you out there? If it’s you, please come see me soon!

Hi… my name is Rico.

I was adopted on September 6, 2014.

Whew! I just made it here by the skin of my teeth! I was being chased by a pack of coyotes on Ruby Road in Rio Rico when a rancher drove by and rescued me. He checked out a nearby ranch, but no one was home, so I’m awfully glad TALGV could take me in. I’m a delightful hound/shepherd mix boy and in typical puppy fashion, I love people, romping with other dogs, and just generally being an easy-going, energetic guy. With the good genes from both my breeds, you know that I’m going to be the star of the show in no time!

Hi… my name is Princess.

Adopted March 7, 2015.

It was actually a good thing that the Sahuarita police picked me up for “vagrancy” because I was running in the middle of the intersection of Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard and Pima Mine Road, and that’s a pretty dangerous place for a canine! Since I was already spayed, I guess I belonged to someone at one time, but now I need to find another family to shower my affection on. I’m a magnificent black and white American Bulldog/Staffie mix, and I totally adore people. All I ask out of life is attention, an active family, and a place to call my own forever. That’s not too much is it?

Arrived August 12, 2014.

Hi… my name is Lucy.

Adopted January 17, 2015.

There wasn’t enough room for another big dog (well, 44 pounds isn’t THAT big!) at TALGV when I was found, so I stayed in a boarding kennel for a month until some space opened up. When the volunteers visited me, though, they said that I was happy, friendly girl whose “whole body wagged” when you met her. Now that I’ve got my own space here, I’m getting tons more attention, walks several times a day, learning lots of important commands, and getting some play time in too. The people at the kennel were nice, but it’s way better here — especially since now visitors will see what a sweetie I am and want to give me a new home! I’m a gorgeous, glossy ebony Staffie mix, and I know in my heart that the perfect family for me is just waiting around the corner. Why not make that you?
