Animal League News

Hi… my name is Luke,

Adopted 4-7-18

My Animal League friends say I arrived on Valentine’s Day because I’m a sweetheart. (They pet me as they say that, so it’s nice for me.) When found, I was a stray dog “full of stickers,” and my kind finders took care of that. They also let me play with their dogs, adult male golden retrievers, and we got along well. Indeed, they said that while with them, I enjoyed playing with other dogs. As for manners, I didn’t specifically ask to go outside, but did go outside, so that’s good. I’m strong—a 2-year-old, 53-pound Boxer mix male—so best to have a strong hand on my leash. And, honestly, I am a sweetheart who loves sweet people. If that makes us a happy match, I hope we can go home together real soon.

Hi… my name is Batty,

Adopted 5-7-18

Even though I’m still limping, I’m SO lucky to be alive! My mom entrusted me the care of her dad while she tried to find me a new home after she moved, but I guess he wasn’t too cat savvy, as I promptly got outside and was hit by a car. At first they weren’t sure I’d make it much less keep my leg, but I’m happy to report that I’ve had surgery and after hobbling around for what seems like forever, I’m ready to cast this thing off (pun intended!) and find a new (cat SAVVY) home! I’m a 3-year-old, over-the-top delightful tuxedo boy who gets along with dogs and humans (but not cats!), so won’t you help me put this brush with the “great litterbox in the sky” behind me?

Hi… my name is Sophie,

Adopted 2-19-18

When I wasn’t quite 6 months old, my people abruptly moved away and left me all alone. Fortunately, our dog-loving neighbors (people with 6 dogs of their own) came to my rescue. They let me stay with them for two months and learned these important things about me: I was housebroken, good in the house when they were gone, and I got along with their 6 dogs. Here at TALGV, I’ve met more dog-loving people and they call me “a real sweetie,” energetic, affectionate, and easy to love. I’m a tan and white Heeler mix female, now 42 pounds, and you can probably tell, just by looking at me, how eager I am to meet my forever people. I have a lifetime of love to give—will you please let me give it to you!

Hi… my name is Fudgesicle,

Adopted 3-10-18

You say you’ve been looking for love, but in all the wrong places? Well, you obviously haven’t been to meet ME, ‘cause I can put your search to an end in no time! My people adopted me when I was a wee kitten (I’m still a kitten, just not so “wee” any longer!), and they said that I LOVE to play (surprise!), am “highly” affectionate, and adore attention. I also got along splendidly with my feline housemate, but unfortunately there were some changes in my home that I had trouble adapting to, so here I am now, getting ready to start life anew with you (hey, that rhymes!). I’m 9 months old now and just rarin’ to prove that I’m “Mr. Perfect.” One chance is all I need!

PS Hope you like my baby photos in the gallery.

Hi… my name is Jasmine,

Adopted 4-20-18

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Here’s my mom’s message to my new owner: “Jasmine is a WONDERFUL cat who loves to sit in your lap for head rubs. She’ll wake you up early with a ‘whisker rub’ or a cold nose. She’s never gotten on the counters – just chairs and laps. For some reason, she doesn’t like the kitchen, so feed her in another room. She loves to drink milk, especially if it’s in a cup – not a bowl. I’m only giving her up because of allergies, so if you give her lots of love and kisses she’ll return even more of them to you!” So add to those pluses that I’m a gorgeous, declawed 11-year-old lady who has free vet care and I can’t imagine what more you’d want!

Hi… my name is Kelly,

Adopted 3-10-18

Comfy shelter, regular food and water, kindness all around—the world is a far better place than I ever imagined! Before coming here, I lived under a trailer and was left there when my owners moved, but I wasn’t alone long. Angels came (disguised as people) and rescued me. They saw that I am very loving by nature, great with kids and good with other dogs. I was also good in their house when they were gone, and at 2 years of age (a 41-pound female), I’m becoming acquainted with leashes. I’m also learning that adult people can be patient and understanding, so let me tell you a secret: I now dare to dream of living in the best place ever—a loving home, happy and safe, with someone just like you to love forever.

Hi… my name is Nelli,

Adopted 3-3-18

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life.

It looks as if my dad and I both have allergies – his to me and mine to grain (but I do just fine on a grain-free diet). I lived with my people (including two dogs) for eight of my 10½ years and mom said that in order to spend a bit of time around dad, I learned to LOVE having a lint roller used on me, especially around my ears, so that I didn’t trigger his allergies as much. I’m a “meeter and greeter,” very playful, and love being petted (and even held for short periods!). I got along great with the dogs, and am used to having “Soft Paws” applied so that I don’t scratch “no-no” stuff. Oh, I also have free vet care, so between you and me, what’s not to love?

Hi… my name is Coco,

Adopted 2-20-18

I was found in the shadow of Mount Hopkins, sitting in the shade and probably looking very peaceful because I am a sweet, harmonious kind of dog. However, on that day, my finders reported I was very thirsty, hungry, and limping a bit. I welcomed that rescue with all the big dog gratitude I could muster. And although I’m only 74 pounds, volunteers tell me I have big dog charisma, too—a kind of charm that comes from my gentle, friendly personality. I’m about 1-1/2 years old, a gray Staffie mix female, and I’d probably been alone for a while, judging by my dirty coat. As you know, that’s no way for a dog to live—I’m made to be someone’s loyal, loving companion. And maybe—my hopes are high—that someone is you.
