Hi… my name is Henry,

Adopted 12-31-17

I was a lost dog—no home, no family, no promise of food or water—until a Good Samaritan rescued me. What a relief! She brought me here to TALGV, where people appreciate the way I’m gentle and good-natured, curious about other dogs but generally not dog reactive on my walks. They’re teaching me to walk politely on a leash and, more importantly, how much fun it is to be with someone. Maybe it’s great for people to be rich or good-looking, but I don’t care about that stuff. I’m a dog. I see your heart, sense your kindness. I can even smell your friendliness. Maybe you can see the best in me, too. I’m a 2-year-old, 57 pound Boxer/Staffie mix male, who needs only this: Someone to love, who loves me back. How about you?

Hi… my name is Adobo,

Adopted with Chipotle 3-17-18

There are “bad environments” and then there are really, really BAD environments, and that’s what I came from. There were about 30 of us in a hoarding situation, and thankfully an incredibly dedicated woman rescued all of us over the course of a few months. Several of my companions and I ended up here, and when we arrived, almost all of us had one sort of affliction or another. It’s been a long road to recovery, but we’re OK now, and SO ready to have places of our own. I’m a sweet young boy, and although still a bit shy from my ordeal, I have a huge heart and know I’ll warm up in no time and fill your house with affection, one purr at a time!

Hi… my name is Sylvester,

Adopted 5-5-18

Being almost killed by a coyote when I was a kitten left a lasting impression on me, as try as I might, I could never get along with the dog I lived with in my second home (I’m not crazy about cats either), so I think I was meant to be a human-only companion. But in that area, I just shine! My dad had me for four of my 9½ years and finally had to choose between the dog and me and, well, you can see who won! He did say said that I love people and attention, like to play with toys on strings, and am very curious (no surprise there, I’m a cat!), so if you have a soft spot for survivors, won’t you give me one more chance?

Hi… my name is Margo,

Adopted 12-19-17

In the company of kind people, I often get a contented “at home” look in my eyes, because that’s truly how I feel. One of the worst parts of being lost was not having a person to be with, for playing and for snuggling. I’m an active, fun-loving, 1-year-old, 62-pound Bernese Mountain Dog/Rottweiler mix female—not exactly lap dog size, but I’m affectionate with people and like it when you’re that way with me, too. My friends say I’m also intelligent and especially good-natured. Of note, I can be dog selective, but I’ve lived with another dog here at TALGV, so it depends. One thing’s for sure: If a loyal, loving companion like me is the kind of dog you see yourself with, I’m ready to take my place in that happy picture forever.

Hi… my name is Gramps,

Adopted 12-15-17

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

When my mom had to move to a place that didn’t allow cats, my housemate, Busted, and I went to live with friends who had their own cats and dogs, and it was not a match made in heaven! Actually, I got along with some of them, but between animals and kids, it was pretty crowded, so I guess it’s best that I find a new human to love. Even though I’m a 10-year-old (who has free vet care), I’m still pretty playful, am a sweetheart who loves attention, snuggling close, and am a “good cat to drink coffee with!” Hey, if that doesn’t set your heart all aflutter, then come sit with me a while we’ll establish a quiet affinity that’ll do the trick!

Hi… my name is Busted,

Who knows? Maybe I was caught doing something “illegal” when I was a kitten, but that’s my name and I’m sticking to it (although I probably wouldn’t be brokenhearted if you changed it)! When my mom had to move to a place that didn’t allow cats, my housemate, Gramps, and I went to live with friends who had their own cats and dogs, and it was not a match made in heaven! I’m a lovely 4-year-old calico lady who is fairly independent (it’s the calico/torti genes!) but if you know the breed, you’ll know the love we’re capable of, and when it’s affection that’s wanted, you’ll be the first to know. If you’re kind enough to give me a new start in life, I promise to welcome you with open paws!
