Hi… my name is Yolanda,

Adopted 9-5-17

My life on the streets as a single mom wasn’t easy, but I managed to find a nice gentleman (the human kind!) who rescued me and me five 3-week old kittens. Fending for myself was tough enough, but with five mouths to feed, it was doubly hard! Well I’m happy to say that TALGV found us a foster home and my kids are on their way to new lives, so I’m next in line for a home of my very own. I’m barely out of kittenhood myself at just 13 months, so you can expect lots of entertainment, affection (I’ve got a TON of that!), and especially gratitude for giving me the kind of life I think I’ve earned after my peril-filled journey to get here!

Hi… my name is Vegas,

Adopted 11/18/17

Vegas is FeLV Positive and comes with Free Vet Care for Life,

I feel so sorry for my dad because he lost his job and could no longer afford my “upkeep” (when you’re living hand to mouth, every penny counts). So although I have a heavy heart at the moment, I know that I’ll be able to transfer my affections to another human with just a little encouragement. Dad said that I was a “great cat” who “loved being loved,” so you know that it won’t be hard for you to provide help with my transition. I’m a 3-year-old FeLV-positive girl, which means that I need to either live with another FeLV cat (we have several here!) or be your one and only, and I wake up every day hoping this is the day we find each other and start a new life together.

Hi… my name is Rupert,

Adopted 8-25-17

Some people think I have a distinguished look and manner, as though I have wise thoughts to share. Others tell me I’m just plain adorable to look at and to know. I say, happily, both can be true! When I was found lying on the side of Helmet Peak Road, my finder knew only that I was a lost dog and she very kindly rescued me. Here at TALGV, the volunteers have gotten to know me and they’re now my friends—complimenting me for being sweet, friendly, and great company. I’m a tan Shar-Pei mix male, about 5 years old, 79 pounds, generally calm and easygoing, with one very special dream: A forever home where I’ll always be loved. Imagine how devoted I’ll be if you’re the one to make my dream come true.

Hi… my name is Yogi,

Adopted 9-10-18

I used to live outside all the time. Oh, I learned to cope, but the comforts and company of living inside are truly appealing. (I do love a pool, so some outside time can be fun.) I’m 7 years old—lots of living still to do—but my people are moving and can’t take me along. We’ve been together since I was a puppy, so it’s a big change, but there’s a bright side: I know how to be a loving companion and I certainly love receiving attention, so this is my big chance for more of that! I’m an Akita/Lab mix male, about 65 pounds, with a beautiful rust and white coat. I’m leash-trained, have lived with other dogs, know some commands, and will live happily ever after if you make me yours.

Hi… my name is Socho,

Adopted 12-21-17

You know it’s really tough when you’ve lived with one person all your life and then they’re not there anymore. My beloved dad is now in hospice care, and I do miss him awfully, but after being at TALGV for just a while, I’m finding that other humans can be pretty interesting and loving, too. I’m a 7-year-old, über-handsome longhaired grey boy, but since I’ve never been around other pets or kids, everyone pretty much agrees that I’d probably like to be a one-person companion again. That doesn’t mean that I’m an old fuddy-duddy, ‘cause I love string toys and have tons of energy, so I’m saving it all up for just you! Come check me out and see all I’ve got to offer!

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted 9-2-17

“There are so many wonderful and good things about this dog.” That’s what my former people said about me, and they elaborated: “Great on a leash, easily treat motivated…smart, good looking…active…wants to please …learns quickly.” So why did we part? Cats. I cannot live with cats. Also, after we moved, I had some separation anxiety when left alone in the new house. Back here, the volunteers agree with all the good things said about me, especially the observation that I’ll “warm your heart.” I’m a gentle, sweet, beautiful red 4-1/2-year-old female, 76 pounds (need to lose a few), and although I can be shy at first, you’ll see that I love the company of people. I’m sure there are many wonderful and good things about you, too, so won’t we make a perfect match?

Hi… my name is Ginger,

Adopted with Dulce 9-9-17

My sister Dulce and I had a fabulous home, but happiness there ended when our people divorced and moved away. Fortunately, we have each other—two sisters lovingly bonded to one another. We love to cuddle, (sometimes pretend to be lapdogs), splash in a wading pool (do not swim though), or just play and have fun. We’re good on walks, friendly to other dogs and people, (I’m a littler shyer than Dulce), know commands, are extremely alert and loyal to our person. (Btw, we like to be brushed and even enjoy a shower!) Dulce and I—who want to stay together—are 16-month-old Queensland Heeler/Shepherd mix females, I’m 43 pounds, she’s 38. We’re both beautiful, (I’ll sometimes do the adorable head tilt when listening) and we’ll bring happiness with us when you make us yours.
