Hi… my name is Luke,

Adopted 4-9-17

I was found near a railroad track, a lost dog who’s apparently known tough times in the past because my smooth brown coat bears some scars. Am I still a handsome guy? Absolutely yes, say my dear friends. Moreover, they say my good looks are from my true nature shining through because I’m a remarkably sweet, gentle, and very loving dog. My finder kept me for ten days and said I was gentle with their teenager and got along with their other dogs. Here at TALGV, I’m delighted when people visit me and when we go for walks, I’m great on the leash. A 6-1/2-year-old Boxer mix male, medium size at 49 pounds, I’m confident the best times of my life are right up ahead, especially if I get to share them with you!

Hi… my name is Bella,

Bella comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

I know my mom would be happy knowing TALGV was caring for me and searching for just the right new home, because she was a long-time volunteer and knows how much compassion the caregivers have. At heart I’m an essentially shy lady with strangers, but with my person, I’m sweetness itself and a lady just looking for love. Everyone agrees that a home with an older, quiet person would be best (like my life with mom and my feline housemate), so if that describes you, won’t you consider me? Since I’m 14 years old now, I come with free vet care for life, and with beautiful looks and a serene personality what more do you need?

Hi… my name is Copper,

Adopted 3-26-17

There are lots of synonyms for “sweetness” in the dictionary, but for some reason not one of them is “Copper!” Well, it should be in there because according to everyone who meets me, I’m exactly that! I “just showed up” at a home in a Sahuarita neighborhood one day, and my rescuer said that I wanted so badly to come inside, but unfortunately she had other pets that weren’t terribly welcoming. She also said that I was very playful, loved meeting everyone who came by, and simply craved attention. All you need to do is come by and visit and you’ll see for yourself – I’ll be the first one to lean over and whisper sweet nothings in your ear. Trust me, you won’t be able to resist this gorgeous two-year-old!

Hi… my name is Baloo,

Adopted 3-11-17

Let me tell you the best parts of being rescued: Regular food, shelter, safety, and, for me, top of the list is the company. Before coming here, I was lost and lonely. But now I have dog and people friends. Just being me—sweet and friendly—has made me a popular guy! Recently, a volunteer took me on an overnight-for-fun and I showed her more of my good qualities, like I’m crate-trained, not a barker, and when we saw javelinas on our walk, I ignored them. Sometimes I make a “growly” sound when I try to talk, snore when I snooze, and maybe you’ve noticed my great big smile. I’m a happy 75-pound adult Staffie mix male, and when you look in my eyes, I hope you see your next best friend.

Hi… my name is Thor (aka Sleet),

Adopted with Loki 6-10-17

My brother, Loki, and I were adopted as puppies into a family with small children, cats and dogs, and we got along with all of them! But now our family is expecting another baby and moving to a place with a smaller yard, so we’re each looking for a new home and people to love. I’m an 18-month-old male, light brown with a white chest, and an athletic build—somewhat slender but tall. My former family said I let the kids lay on me and even pull my tail; guess that says a lot about my gentle, generous nature. Sure, I can bark, but I’m basically a peaceful, welcoming guy; when the volunteers pet or brush me, I’m content. Could you and I make each other happy forever? I’m guessing the answer is yes!

But now our family is expecting another baby and moving to a place with a smaller yard, so we’re each looking for a new home and people to love. I’m an 18-month-old male, light brown and white, somewhat slender but tall. People also notice that my eyes are different colors—one blue, one brown. My former family said I loved to lie down on couch (who doesn’t?) and be petted. Sure, I know how to bark, but I’m basically a peaceful, welcoming guy; when the volunteers pet or brush me, I’m so content. Could you and I make each other happy forever? I’m guessing the answer is yes!

Hi… my name is Arlene,

Adopted 5-20-17

Well I’ve got to say a lot has happened to me in a month — lost, found under a porch, terrified by big dogs, arrived at TALGV, got poked and prodded a bit, and then spayed! Whew! That’s enough “action” to last a lifetime! But through it all, despite being understandably a smidge shy, I’ve loved getting ear and head rubs, and the attention (the nice kind!) from the volunteers has been great. Now I’m ready to find a place of my own (no more big dogs, please!), and let my personality shine. At about 18 months, I’m still looking for the kind of action I’m supposed to be involved in – playing and cuddling – so let’s get working on that!

Hi… my name is Polly.

Adopted 4-16-17

Polly comes with TALGV’s FREE “Vet Care for Life” Program.

My story starts in 2007, when my sister and I were little puppies found abandoned off Interstate 19. Being adorable balls of fluff, we were soon adopted and life was splendid for a while, but then our mom died. After that, two years ago, I was adopted again, but something happened—we don’t know what—and I was found as a stray. Fortunately, my records were traced to TALGV, where they welcomed me back with open arms. I’m 10 years old now and qualify for FREE Vet Care for Life! Even better, I’m a sweet, friendly female, who’s good on a leash, has lived with other dogs, and at 38 pounds (under my fluffy fur), a very nice size. I’m going to give lots of love and joy to someone—shouldn’t it be you?
