My mom had me all of my six years of life, so all this upheaval has been pretty discombobulating for me, but through it all, everyone agrees that because of my inherently loving personality, I’ll make the adjustment to a new home in no time. My mom’s friend said, “Emma is super friendly and affectionate, never bites or scratches people [well, I am declawed!], and needs to be near you – on your lap or by your side.” I just know life will be rosier for you and me both when we spend it together!

BROOK is a gentle, loving 2-year-old, 45-pound female Shepherd mix. She is a very sweet, people-oriented dog who was abandoned by owner. Brook is housebroken and will sit on command; she enjoys riding in car and walking on leash but needs more training. She is healthy, spayed, and is up to date on shots (medical records are available). Brook is okay with other passive dogs; cats and kids are unknown. Brook needs a home where someone is mostly at home; a fenced yard is recommended. There is no adoption fee. I’m an active 8-year-old Rottweiler mix female, a beauty in black and tan, and I’d love to hike and play with you. Best of all, I want to be your devoted companion—a part of the family. My owner’s mom said I get along well with kids and cats, I’m housebroken, and know lots of commands—including sit, stay, off, no, come, and go to bed. “A good girl, very friendly,” is how my former owner described me. Unfortunately, she also said I chased chickens, goats and cats, and she has all those animals. But let’s get back to my good qualities! In addition to being friendly, I’m leash trained, know lots of commands, and definitely know how to have fun—I love water, running, and playing with toys. Prior to coming here, I was living outside and somewhere along the line, my throat was hurt, so I have an unusual bark. I’m a 2-1/2-year-old St. Bernard mix female, 72 pounds, with a gorgeous tan and white coat, and you can imagine how much it will mean to me to live indoors in a comfy, loving home. If you make that happen—well, plain and simply, I’ll love you forever!

CODY is a mild-mannered, gentle 2-year-old blonde Lab/husky mix boy who lost his mom recently and needs a new loving home. He is house-broken and asks to go out, but he loves his daily walks. He weighs 120 pounds, is neutered and up to date on his shots (medical records are available). Cody likes other dogs and cats, is social with everyone, especially women, and he likes children of all ages. He is used to a doggy door and will “sit” on command. Cody is mostly a house dog who enjoys laying on his cushion, but he would enjoy a ranch or horse setting. There is no adoption fee. Since my puppy brothers were adopted, I’ve learned people can be fun, too! A volunteer even took me home for a visit and here’s what she discovered: I really like her two big female dogs and respond correctly to their “coaching,” have a good appetite, adorable personality, a little mouthy (maybe missing roughhousing with my brothers), settle quickly in my crate in the car, my leash skills are improving with every outing, and—here’s something to make you proud—I went potty whenever given the chance to go outside, so housetraining should go well. I’m a growing, 2-month-old Shepherd mix male with a smooth tan coat. Sometimes I’m timid, but when we meet and like each other—which I hope is soon—I’ll be the happy, easy-to-love puppy who’ll love you back forever!

Pluto

When I arrived here, I just sat by myself, sad and lonely. Then, after a few days, I realized things might be okay for me. I started going for walks, playing “find it” for treats (love that game!), and making new friends. As a rule, I’m cautious with new people (might growl when they approach); but my former family reported that I could be “loving with people I know.” For fun, I enjoy nice long walks and playing fetch, plus I’m good in the car and housetrained. I’m a smart 2-year-old black Lab mix male, 90+ pounds (did I mention the treat game?), and once we get to know each other, I’m a good and loving companion. My suggestion? We should get acquainted real soon because we could be happy together for a long time!

I’ll be a gracious gentleman and simply say that I became a TALGV dog because my owner forgot to pick me up. (The word “abandoned” is so hurtful that I’ve chosen to forget it.) So, I’ve been waiting a while, but now my future looks great—the chance for a happy, comfy, loving home with my wonderful new someone. Who could ask for more? Oh, I should explain that if you notice my chronic limp, that’s due to a past injury to one of my legs.
