“My husband and I loved ‘the boys’ and took very good care of them. Then cancer took my husband and I now have to work five to six days a week, morning ‘til dark, and they are almost always alone.” I think my brother, Chickasaw, and I miss dad as much as mom does, and with her gone all day, we were pretty lonely guys, so it’s probably good that we got to come back to TALGV to find new homes. Although I’ve had a genetic shoulder problem all my life, it doesn’t seem to bother me. I’m a peaceful, laid back guy who really enjoys a calm home (I’ve never been around kids or cats other then my brother – and I was the submissive one!), so why not make 2017 the year you add a little something special to your life?

My former person loved me a lot and the feeling was mutual, but our energy levels weren’t really in sync anymore. After careful thought, he decided it was best for me to find a new home, and so now I’m here, eager to make friends and have new adventures! I’m a lively, slender 4-year-old female Boxer, all grown up but still loving to romp and play every day! I’m very energetic, learning to get even better at walking on a leash, and delighted to share all such activities with people. My short-hair coat is an easy-care, beautiful brindle and white; my big brown eyes and adorable expression will charm you at first sight. Since I’m a yellow Lab mix, you might expect me to be a really great dog. Well, I’m too humble to brag, but the volunteers say “a really great dog” is exactly what I am! The woman who found me said she was walking by Walden Grove when I just came up to her—a friendly, sweet guy. Oh, I’m playful, too. At just 14 months old (58 pounds), having fun is the best part of my day. And fun can include being gentle, loving, and attentive to my person. I just wish I had a person now. The volunteers sometimes find me sitting quietly, calmly relaxing. And you know what I’m thinking at those times? That a dog like me belongs with someone who wants to share the good life—someone like you!

It’s so good to be out and about! Previously, I lived in a crate most of the time. On occasion, I played with other dogs and two boys (ages 3 and 5), and we all got along well. But now I’m here, looking forward to a home where I’ll enjoy lots of indoor freedom and walks, too! I’d be a good fit in many different households because I’m gentle, learn fast, and live life as a happy guy, described as “a very sweet and loving little dog.” At 33 pounds, it’s been suggested I could lose a few—but when I’m free to exercise, that’ll happen naturally, right? I’m an 18-month-old Pug mix male, a handsome tan fellow, and I’m going to be somebody’s happy-go-lucky pal forever. How about we make that somebody you!

I was part of the “city” litter of kittens that arrived at TALGV after our mother was killed by dogs in Nogales. We were truly lucky when the owner of the house rescued us and brought us here, and I was doubly lucky to have been hand-raised by a foster dad and then find a home almost immediately when I was old enough. Now life’s changed though, as my beloved mom died recently and I’m back again, hoping the third time will be a charm for me. I’m a lovely buff and white girl and just as gentle and loving as you’d expect for a gal who’s lived with an older person all her life, so why not let me be the best part of your new year?

I’m a people-loving dog. When lost, I went to a skating park just to be near people. More recently, I kept another dog company while her human mom recovered from illness and foster mom observed, “Roscoe LOVES EVERYONE, especially those who’ll sit and pet him.” You could say life has taught me how great it is to have friends. I’m an 11-year-old black shepherd mix male, mature and in good shape, plus I have FREE vet care for life. Since being rescued, I’ve met many good people, but there’s still someone missing—the someone who especially welcomes my sweet company, who chooses me to join them for walks and quiet times. Their affection will be a dream come true for me and, with them I’ll be home at last. Could you be my someone?

From my perspective, it’s a really big world out there, so I’m sure you appreciate why I’m a little cautious. People often call that “shy,” but maybe you’ll agree that since I’m just 9+ pounds, it’s wise to be watchful. Of course, being little is part of being a Chihuahua, and I’m good with that! It’s fun being the size that people can easily cuddle and play with, and I’m meeting lots of those people. The woman who brought my brother and me here had offered to help us find a good home and she knew that would happen at TALGV. Maybe it will be soon! I’m just 4 months old and I’m trying to be as adorable as possible, hoping that someone kind and loving like you will want to take me home.

My name is funny because I’m not curly at all! I’m a smooth-coated Chihuahua, light brown compared to my brother Mo, whose coat is darker than mine, and we’re just youngsters—only 4 months old. The woman who brought us here had offered to help us find a home and TALGV was the right place for that. Lots of people visit and when they see us, they often talk about how little we are. I understand that—I’m just 6+ pounds. From my perspective, it’s a big wide world out there, so I’m sure you appreciate why I’m a little cautious. (People often call that “shy.”) But once we know each other, I’m also affectionate and very sweet, and I’m hoping that no matter what my name is, you’ll want to call me yours.
