Hi… my name is Claudette,

Adopted 1-26-18

The people who found me under their car were positive they’d find my owners (being the sweet beauty that I am!), but since posters and inquiries failed to turn them up, their loss is going to be your gain! I’m a little slip of a thing at only six pounds, so you’ll hardly feel me at all when I hop up into your lap. Everyone thinks I look a lot like a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat, but given my diminutive size, that’s unlikely (you never know, though, I could be the “mini-me” version of one of them!). So the “bottom line” is that I’m available, and if you get yourself on over here to meet me, well, life will be just peaches and cream for us both!

Hi… my name is Teaka,

Adopted September 19, 2016

When I grow up, I want to be a dog like my mom—playful but calm, eager to please, and fun-loving, too. And you know what? I think I’m off to a good start! Mom is a beautiful Border Collie mix, and she’s been a wonderful mother. Even though she was a stray when found, she gave all her babies excellent care and teaching. For instance, on a walk recently, one of my siblings got too far away. Mom didn’t panic or get mad, but she barked at him until we were together again. That’s the kind of smart, devoted dog I want to be! I’m a delightful female, black and white, now about 24 pounds, and if you make me yours, we can make each other happy for a long time to come!

Mom is a beautiful Border Collie mix, and she’s a wonderful mother. A stray when found, she provided all her babies with excellent care and teaching. For instance, out on a walk recently, my walker and I were too far ahead to suit Mom. She didn’t panic or get mad, but she barked at us until we were together again. That’s the kind of smart, devoted dog I want to be! I’m a delightful black and white male, now about 26 pounds, and if you make me yours, we can make each other happy for a long time to come!

Hi… my name is Dolly,

Adopted 11-25-16

I was a surprise guest who brought unexpected gifts. Put another way, I was a stray who appeared in my finders’ yard and proceeded to give birth to five puppies! That was on 5/27, and my babies were all so delightful that our finders kept two of them, while I came to TALGV with the other three. I continue to keep a mama’s eye on the youngsters while here—teaching by example things like how to walk on a leash—but sometimes when people notice how young-looking and svelte I am, they ask if I’m just a pup, too! Well, I’m 2 years old, about 48 pounds, a classy brown, tan and white beauty with countless happy fun-filled days ahead. Won’t you please come visit and see if we might be the perfect match!

Hi… my name is Marlo,

Adopted 12-16-16

Maybe some critters are meant to live alone, but that’s not me! (As far as I know, that’s not any dog!) I love being with people and do my best to please them. When I was lost, wandering around the Helmet Peak/Mission Road area, I hoped every day that someone would find me and let me be their friend. Finally, someone did and took me to their home, which they share with four Chihuahuas! Since they were full up in the dog department, I’m now a TALGV dog, where they say I’m a very sweet girl, a good walker on a leash, and just plain fun to be with. I’m a 2-year-old, 50-pound Staffie mix female, a beauty in brown and white, and I promise to love you forever if you make me yours.

Hi… my name is Skittles,

Adopted September 23, 2016

Could I get lucky in the adoption department just one more time? My dog buddy, Eli, and I had a wonderful home with our person for 1-1/2 years, but due to her health issues, we came back to TALGV. Before my home with her, I was in a group of pups found in a hole off the highway! Today, I’m still young, a beautiful Catahoula Leopard mix female, whose coat is black and very light brown. I’m leash trained and already know “stay” and “sit,” and I’m sure I could learn lots more if you want to teach me. If you take me home, I’ll do my best every day to make you glad you did. How about we meet and see if the perfect place for me is with you!

Hi… my name is Gracie (aka Countess),

Adopted 11-7-16

You can only keep a low profile for so long before you start to get a complex! After my first person adopted me, she thought that her resident cat and I would adjust to each other, and she really tried for quite a while, but that snooty Bengal just wasn’t having competition, and that was that. Then an older man adopted me, and we led a quiet, happy life together for a year until he had to move in with his family to be cared for, so I’m searching for someone with whom I can revel in the simple pleasures in life. I’m a beautiful, sweet Russian blue lady who after all this time deserves to have one last lap I can call my very own!
