I didn’t know what to do when I was left beside a road in the dark. I was starving, thirsty, scared and shivering. Then a car pulled over. Two sisters, despite needing to get to the airport, had stopped for me. In that moment, my life changed. The sister who lives locally gave me food, water, and lots of kindness. I started becoming the real me – happy, affectionate, and attentive. She said I never barked and slept through storms. Her cat really didn’t want a dog, so she brought me to TALGV, where I play and cuddle with new friends. I’m a small Dachshund female, who bears a mark from the past (perhaps a tight muzzle), but who’s ready for a bright future. Could you be the special someone who loves me forever?

After 4 years as a member of the family—I’m 4 years old, so basically my whole life—I lost my home through no fault of my own. I belonged to the daughter and when she moved, there was no one to take care of me. My owner said I was good in the house when they were gone, but those were lonely times. I’m a super friendly Spaniel and so I really like to share the good times with a special someone. Here at TALGV, I see friends all around me, which is great. Still, I’m hoping to be part of a family again—a forever family. Let’s get together so I can show you how much fun it can be to have a playful, handsome, super friendly Spaniel in your life.

So with names like Sage and Oregano (Parsley, Rosemary, and Marjoram were already adopted!) you just gotta know that my sibling and I will spice up your life no end (okay, technically we’re herbs, but you get the drift!). The kind lady who rescued our mom cared for all of us until we were ready for our own homes (I guess six of us might have put her in the “crazy cat lady” category!). Well, here we are, and we’re all a hoot if I do say so myself. With our bespattered black and white fur, random abstract markings, and winning kitten ways, you couldn’t go wrong with us. Do yourself (and me!) a favor and make 2015 the “year of the cat” in your life!

My foster mom, with whom I lived for many weeks until I gained my strength and “got growed,” said, “No one told Ritz she was named after a cracker because she’s thinking more along the lines of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel! She’s a very sweet kitten who just seems to have class.” Well, that’s what happens when you’re pampered and coddled — you learn to love (and expect) it! Since I was only three weeks old when found, I needed a lot of TLC to get my weight up with extra nourishment, but one look at me and you’ll see how well that paid off! I’m a darling, medium-haired torti/tabby mix girl who is going to be one of those “can’t-take-your-eyes-off-her” ladies when I’m grown. You be the one to watch that happen!

The person who brought me to TAL said that I “scare easily” and I’m “in need of love.” I agree, especially the love part. My story includes the sad word “abandoned;” I was left at a home where I couldn’t stay. That was a bumpy start in life, but things are getting better. I’m just a young female Staffie mix, shiny black with white markings. One of my favorite things is playing with other dogs, but what I’d really love is a person who’ll teach me what good young dogs need to know. Okay, the secret’s out: I’m a big guy! There’s 100 pounds of me to love. And these days, love is exactly what I need. I’m an 8-1/2-year-old Saint Bernard mix male, tan and white, with dreamy brown eyes. When I was just a puppy, I was found out in the desert. For the last 5 years, I’ve lived outside most of the time, where I acted as a sentinel. Now, in my mellow out years, I’m hoping for a soft, comfy place to relax and enjoy the days. I know “sit,” am leash trained, got along with the cat I grew up with, and I come with Free Vet Care for Life.
