Hi… my name is Darby.

Adopted April 30, 2016

For a gal who was roaming free for over three months (that the people in Madera Highlands know of!), I was actually in pretty good shape when I arrived and a sweetheart to boot. Although I needed a bit of cleaning up (there are a lot of “things” to acquire while you’re “going walkabout”!), I spiffed up nicely and really enjoy having regularly scheduled meals provided for me as well as the attention I get from everyone (although I’d sure like a lot more!). I’m a lovely, medium-haired, medium-sized mostly all black lady who will be happy to check out world events from the safety of a window, or even better, a screened porch! Or…just lie around with you and watch them on TV – whatever pleases you works for me!

Hi… my name is Kandy Kiss.

Adopted May 9, 2015

During the short time I stayed with my rescuers, they said that I was a very sweet little girl who got along with their other cat and was even good with their (gentle, kitten-savvy!) young kids. They found me wandering in the Santo Tomas neighborhood, and said that although I was a little shy, that was probably only because I’d been dodging critters and prickly things alone in the desert for a while (that is a very scary, ouchy place!). They didn’t have a dog, but being just a youngster, I’m infinitely adaptable, so like with kids, if you have a canine that’s respectful of cats I’d probably be okay with it too. I’m a darling 4-month-old, medium-haired, black and white girl just yearning for a safe, warm lap to snuggle in.

Hi… my name is Rosie.

Adopted September 26, 2015

Although no one knows anything about my origins, it’s apparent I’d had a rather hard time of it for a while. I had several injuries on my head and neck from what appears to be animal attacks (there are so many out there just waiting to pounce!), but they’re healed now and I’m ecstatic to be safe here at TALGV! The volunteers are learning more about me each day, and they say that I’m a super sweet gal who has the joie-de-vivre attitude that goes with being a young and ready-to-experience-the-world kid. Although I don’t have much training (yet!), I love people and don’t react a bit to other dogs when they try to ”create drama”! I’m a slender, approximately 1-year-old Vizsla/hound mix, who promises to be the companion of your dreams!

Hi… my name is Paco.

Adopted August 15, 2015

When my people moved and couldn’t take me with them, I was pretty disappointed. But now things are looking up! I’ve made lots of new friends here at the Animal League; it’s fun spending time with people I like. I was shy at first, but now they say I’m more like a real-live teddy bear—loveable, can be good company, and very cute in my beautiful red blend coat. I’m a little over 1-year-old and didn’t have much human attention before coming here, so I do need some help in learning good doggie behavior. I’ve already learned how to walk on a leash. I’m a male, Chow/Shepherd mix, and hoping for a new friend who can help me reach by best doggie potential.

Hi… my name is Meowner.

Adopted January 16, 2016

My mom, a dog (that we never interacted with since he lived outside), my siblings, Flounder, Ariel, and I were on the verge of homelessness when our mom moved to a “no pets” place, so we’re all exceedingly glad TALGV was there for us and not the streets! Despite the upheaval in our lives, we’re all outgoing, sweet critters who will settle right in to new homes in no time I’m sure. I’m a gorgeous and companionable medium-haired tabby girl, 8 months old (I was born on August 25, 2014, so you can celebrate my birthday every year!), and want more than anything to be able to show you how appreciative I’ll be for a lap, a cat tree, two squares, and a treat or two when I’m good (and that’s always)!

Despite the upheaval in our lives, we’re all outgoing, sweet critters who will settle right in to new homes in no time I’m sure. I’m a typically delightful and companionable orange tabby boy, 8 months old (I was born on August 25, 2014, so you can celebrate my birthday every year!), and want more than anything to be able to show you how appreciative I’ll be for a lap, a cat tree, two squares, and a treat or two when I’m good (and that’s always)!

Hi… my name is Gary.

Adopted September 15, 2015

After two weeks of feeding me in his garage and searching for my owners, my rescuer was taking off for parts north for the summer and knew no one else was going to look out for me so he brought me to TALGV. It’s pretty obvious that I’d been on my own for a while as I was a bit, uh, “ratty” when I arrived, and have lost most of the vision in one eye (they think I can see light and dark), but that hasn’t stopped me one bit from being a delightful fellow who just wants human attention, regularly-delivered meals, and a safe, loving place to call my own. I’m a youngish quintessential “Morris-type” orange tabby guy who only wants to be your new best friend!

Hi… my name is Javier.

Adopted December 7, 2015

Years ago, when I was an adorable young pup, I spent lots of happy days running and playing. Now those times are memories and I’m spending my golden days with a kind and loving foster person. Although I still have some pleasures in life, I need help just getting around inside and out. I want you to know I’m getting that help, along with the comfort and loving care so dear to an adorable golden guy like me.

Hi… my name is Mona.

Adopted June 7, 2015

My sister, Lisa, and I appeared one day in the yard of a home in Sahuarita Heights and stayed around to play with the resident Shih Tzu and the tribe of kids who lived there. The owners fed us outside while they tried to find our owner, but when that didn’t happen after two weeks, decided that we needed more “exposure” to potential adopters so we could find new homes. They said that we were beautiful, playful, happy youngsters who need a good-sized yard and lots of attention, play time, and someone with “puppy-patience.” They’re calling us Whippet mixes, but we have “Shar-Pei-like” ears, so who knows? I’m just a happy amalgam of something! All you need to know is that I’m cute, sweet, and, best of all, (since Lisa has been adopted) I am still available!

Hi… my name is Goldie.

Adopted May 8, 2015

I guess there’s really not a while lot I need say about myself except that I’m a yellow Lab lady and just that will doubtless tell you more about my personality than mere words! I was found sitting in a cage outside TALGV with my leash in my mouth and a bowl of food next to me (that just was a subtle hint that first, I wanted out, and second, maybe a long walk was needed — and happily I didn’t have to wait too long!). I’m a very happy dog, who seems to have been well cared for (I weigh 77 pounds — no food rationing in my life!), and I was obviously once well loved, so it would be great if that happened again for me, and soon!
