Kia

Hi… my name is Kia.

Adopted April 4, 2015

After my dad moved away, his niece took me in for a few months hoping to keep me forever, but their female dog and I had a difference of opinion about who was going to be #1 with the resident males! I adored their two young kids, though, and was very gentle and loving with them. I simply live to play fetch and rollick with other (male) dogs, and the whole family agreed that I’m a super sweet girl who only needs love, another dog or two to romp with, and a family that will include me in all their activities. I’m a 14-month-old, 72-pound, black Lab and Staffie mix girl whose main goal in life is making yours an active and happy one!

Hi… my name is Marmalade.

Adopted May 18, 2016

I’ve sure crammed a lot of living into my five years, and not a whole lot of it has been good, so I’m really looking forward to a turnaround pretty soon! First, everyone thought I was feral because I was roaming the streets (but they found that in fact I’m a total lover!). Then I tested positive for FIV, but please don’t let that scare you away because I’m an otherwise healthy guy and may never have any symptoms at all. (I could live very nicely with another FIV cat — and we have a few to choose from here!) Truthfully, I’d be happy in any situation as long as I had a human to share my love with, so won’t you help me get a new lease on life?

Arrived March 5, 2015

PS If ANY cat considers you for adoption, you know you’re pretty lucky, but if one of our few FIV cats picks you, you can be sure you’re REALLY special!

NOTE: FIV is a virus that can only be passed among cats (humans or dogs are never affected), and only through blood. Since cats rarely fight to the degree of drawing blood, FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives with both other FIV positive cats and friendly non-FIV cats. So don’t let those letters scare you — they’re practically like everyone else and they’ll love you even more for choosing them!

Hi… my name is Gris.

Adopted September 23, 2015

Sometimes the best of intentions go awry. My folks had hearts of gold and, like lots of people, just couldn’t say “no” when a stray cat arrived in their yard. After they’d accumulated 20 of us (none neutered!), they realized that they needed help finding us safe homes. So TALGV’s Outreach Program came to the rescue, and we’re here now and ready for just that — homes of our own. My mom said, “Gris is very gentle. If you ask her if she wants love, she’ll throw herself down on the floor and you can pet her there or pick her up and set her beside you. She gets along with other cats, but especially adores Leonard so I hope they can stay together!” Won’t you please make that happen for us?

HENRY is a handsome and smart 2-year-old, 60-pound, heeler mix male who needs a good home. Henry is affectionate and loves to be around people. He is in good health; is up to date on shots; and has been neutered. Henry is housebroken, but currently lives in a kennel because he is too energetic for one of foster’s old dogs. Henry is leash trained, but he really needs room to run and play fetch in addition to regular walks. He knows sit, come, and down. He likes other dogs; cats and kids are unknown. There is no adoption fee for Henry.

If you will welcome Henry into a loving home as part of your family, please call Kathy from 10 AM to 5 PM at 520-398-2526.

Hi… my name is Opie.

Adopted April 3, 2015

My foster mom took me in when my family divorced because she’d known me for two years and said I was a “great dog.” During my stay with her, I lived in a large outside “pen” but I still had a fair bit of interaction with everyone. At a local “outing” at the Pecan Festival, I was a big hit with everyone — people, kids, and other dogs — and I had more fun than I’ve had in ages, so I sure would love to do that more often with YOU! I’ve learned basic commands, am very smart, loving, playful, and simply adore going for car rides. If you’re a “Boxer person” you’ll know what my potential for being the perfect companion is, so come meet me and see my attributes for yourself!

Hi… my name is Caramel.

Adopted March 11, 2015.

It sure doesn’t do a gal’s ego much good when she’s unceremoniously shoved into the arms of a stranger! Especially when she is a “looker” and a sweetheart like me! You wonder what I did to deserve that kind of treatment — but I guess it’s for the best, as now I can be sure that wherever I go it will be to a loving home that really WANTS me! And why wouldn’t you? I’m a gorgeous, young, medium-haired, blue-eyed, Siamese mix girl, and have the softest, rabbit-like fur you’ve ever felt (and I’m as affectionate and quiet as can be to boot!). So why not help me put the bad memories behind me so I can begin accumulating new, happy ones with you?
