Hi… my name is Nieve.

Adopted June 27, 2015

My Celtic name is Niamh (sounds like Nee ev). It means Bright Star. I come with FREE Vet Care for Life!

My mom left my housemate and me with her mother when she moved out of state, and we thought things would be hunky-dory until we realized that there was a service dog in the house (we really weren’t into any kind of dogs!). Unfortunately, in his eagerness to make friends, he was neglecting his responsibilities to his owner, so, long story short, I’ve got my paws crossed that someone will adopt me soon. I’m a sweet, healthy, low-key, 10-year-old lady (who comes with free Vet Care for Life) and am a real cuddler who likes to lick your hands like a dog and fetch little cat balls, so why not help prove that old age isn’t a disease and give me a new lease on life?

Adopted January 7, 2015.

PRECIOUS is a cute, calm and sweet 8-pound, 4-year-old (possible) Snorkie (Schnauzer/Yorkie) who needs a new home. Her dad died recently and there were no family members to take her in. Neighbors want to help her find a home and feel she would be happier as an only dog in a calm environment as she was for the past 3 years. Precious is housebroken (asks to go out), walks well on leash, and seems to be very low maintenance. She is a healthy little girl, who is probably spayed as she was rescued from a shelter by recent owner. Her coat is a silky, somewhat shaggy, charcoal color with white accents. There is no adoption fee.

If you will welcome Precious into a loving home as part of your family, please call Susan between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-406-7516.

Hi… my name is Casey,

Adopted May 21, 2016

Casey has received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and he has also learned how to carry a backpack (which will be part of his going-home packet).

You don’t see too many Chesapeake Bay retrievers here in Arizona, much less in shelters! I suppose I’m not a purebred though because their coats are curlier than mine, but I’ve got the same personality traits (happy, intelligent, gentle, tolerant, and active!). I wandered onto the property of a family in Sahuarita to play with their female Staffie, and “just stuck around.” They said I was a very sweet guy who got along great with their 7-year-old daughter, and loved to play “tug-of-war” with a rope. So trust me, if you’re looking for a big, happy-go-lucky companion, you’ll find that the folks in Maryland knew what they were doing when they chose me as their state dog!

Hi… my name is Champ.

Adopted My 10, 2015

Champ has received his AKC  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.

After the police found me on Sahuarita Road, my owner was traced through my chip, but never responded, so here’s what the TALGV volunteers said about that: “We can’t understand why Champ’s owner never came back for him because he’s a real charmer!” I was a little rough around the edges when I arrived, but now — drum roll, please — I’m especially proud to say I’ve earned my nationally accredited Canine Good Citizen award! I get along with other dogs, have excellent leash manners, and simply will do anything for your affection and attention! So there you have it. Someone out there is missing out on one very special dog with tons of potential! I’d love it if this 2-year-old were on your radar!
