Hi… my name is Hugo,

Adopted December 19, 2015

Lost and running, all on my own, I took a lucky turn and ran under a small underpass. It was there I was spotted by a real nice guy who was driving by. He saw I was in danger on the road like that, so he stopped, opened his door and called to me. I didn’t think twice! I jumped in his car and he brought me to TALGV, telling the volunteers that I’m “very sweet.” They agree. I’m sweet and playful; a strong guy who’s super interested in people and learning to please them. I know “sit” and you can teach me lots more. 18-months-old, I’m a brown and white Staffie mix male, and I’m ready to step into a great life with you. Won’t you please open up your heart to me?

Hi… my name is Hercules.

Adopted January 21, 2016

Just like people, some of us are smarter than others! The lady who adopted me discovered that I’m the embodiment of the “curious cat” and know how to open lever doors and counter cabinets to get what I want — usually food! That wasn’t so bad, but when I started picking on her other cats (and eating their food), that wasn’t quite so entertaining. But aside from the cat thing, I’ve got a herculean personality to go along with my impressive name and simply love people! I’ve got my sights set on a family that’s ready to add a loving, leggy feline to their lives. I’m an überplayful 3½-year-old, medium-haired tabby (with maybe some of that outgoing Maine Coon character), that promises be the cherry on your sundae!

Hi… my name is Tinsel,

Adopted March 1, 2016

There’s no nice way to say this: My brothers and sisters and I were dumped. We were left out in the cold and filth with only each other for comfort, lucky to get food from a kind stranger. I don’t want to think what might have happened if TALGV hadn’t come to our rescue. Thankfully, the vet who examined us said we are remarkably healthy. Also, the volunteers think I probably had some okay human interaction before being abandoned because I’m comfortable with humans. I’m a 4-1/2-year-old Chihuahua mix male, brown and sable, long and small at just 12 pounds. Imagine how grateful I’ll be for a comfy, carefree home with someone who’ll love and care for me forever. I’ll be the best little companion you could want! Won’t you take me home today?

Hi… my name is Petals,

Adopted December 2, 2015

My dog friend, Maxwell, and I had apparently been lost for some time because when we were found, we were extremely hungry and thirsty. We were so grateful when a kind person gave us food and water, and rescued us from the road. In our short time together, she could tell that I’m a very friendly dog, and I was great with her friend’s 5-year-old son. Being with them was a sweet taste of how great it will be when I’m part of my own family forever, and I promise to be a great addition to almost any household. I’m a gorgeous, 1-year-old Shepherd/Retriever mix female, white with some touches of brown, including velvet brown ears. Won’t you please make today my luckiest day ever and tell TALGV we want to get together soon!

Hi… my name is Daisy,

Adopted November 2, 2015

When you’re just a 3.2 pound dog like me, the world is a great big place! It was very scary, too, when I was lost. Fortunately, a kind person found me hiding in some bushes, which wouldn’t have kept me safe for long, so I’m grateful to be inside and protected. Of course, what I want most is to be loved, so I’m hoping someone wonderful is reading my story right now! I’m an 8-year-old female Chihuahua, brown and white, with a very dear little face that shows you how much I need a forever home. The person who found me said I got along with his Boxer and although I’m still a little shy with strangers, I’d really love to meet you. I think you could be my forever person!

Hi… my name is Snuffles,

Adopted September 25, 2015

I didn’t know what to do when I was left beside a road in the dark. I was starving, thirsty, scared and shivering. Then a car pulled over. Two sisters, despite needing to get to the airport, had stopped for me. In that moment, my life changed. The sister who lives locally gave me food, water, and lots of kindness. I started becoming the real me – happy, affectionate, and attentive. She said I never barked and slept through storms. Her cat really didn’t want a dog, so she brought me to TALGV, where I play and cuddle with new friends. I’m a small Dachshund female, who bears a mark from the past (perhaps a tight muzzle), but who’s ready for a bright future. Could you be the special someone who loves me forever?

Hi… my name is Chloe.

Adopted March 6, 2016

When I went to live with my mom, I had a history of being mistreated. But she loved and pampered me, and turned my world around. We had a great life! I loved running and playing around the house and yard, going to the dog park, and being happy every day. Men still scared me and I didn’t like strangers at our house, but we knew we could work on that. Then, suddenly, she was gone.   After her death, a friend brought me to this safe place, where people understand I need lots of reassurance right now. I’m a 2-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, who has learned how to love and be loved. If my truly forever home can be with you, I will give you my whole grateful heart. Please visit me soon.

Hi… my name is Sugar Bear.

Adopted October 30, 2015

My foster mom and I talked about this message and here’s what we want to say: If you’re looking for a relaxed couch potato, I’m your man. I enjoy daily walks around the neighborhood to say hello to everyone, and I LOVE car rides, but no hiking or mile runs. When foster mom gets up at 4 a.m., I get up, go outside, and go back to bed. However, if you rustle pans in the kitchen, I’ll come running. I could be your sous chef! I’m not food aggressive, though. I’ve lived with dogs and cats, and I like them. I’m a 9-year-old Beagle, about 40 pounds. Foster mom says I’m “just a wonderful dude.” If I could be your happy guy, please ask TALGV to arrange a meet and greet for us.
