After we lost our first dad, another older gentleman adopted us but his health declined, too, so we’re both back waiting for the next chapter of our lives to begin. I’m a little shy at the moment, but I’m basically a people-loving, 11½-year-old (with free vet care) and I’m looking forward to “Phase 3” of my life with a new human (and since I lived with and depended on Perdido all my life I need to be adopted with him). You know the old Doublemint ad, “Two are better than one,” so why not see how true that really is!

Now that both of my people have health and mobility issues, and although it broke their hearts to say it, they think I deserve a less stressful home, where I can get regular exercise and I’m the only dog. When I was lost, running down Nogales Highway with another lost dog, my immediate needs were basic: A safe place to rest, food, and—number one—water. I was so thirsty! When someone stopped to help us, I was shyer than the other dog but equally relieved to be rescued from the road. Then came another tremendous relief: Settling in here with my own water dish, regular food, and a comfy bed. Now they say that for me—a guy who’s a sweet combination of shy and friendly by nature—there’ll be an even better place: A forever home, where love lives, and I can be the devoted companion to my favorite someone ever. I’m a 1-year-old Staffie mix male, black with cool white markings, 60 pounds, handsome, lovable, and oh-so ready to be yours.

When I was lost, running down Nogales Highway, my immediate needs were pretty basic: A safe place to rest, food, and—number one—water. I was so thirsty! Settling in here with my own water dish, food, and a comfy bed was a tremendous relief. And now I can focus on the love of my life: People! I love being with people. Honestly, I don’t always like other dogs, but people are my favorite critters ever. Some of the volunteers call me “lovebug” because I’m so happy to greet them and give them my attention and affection. If you and I get together, the same will be true with you. I’m a 2-year-old brown and white Staffie mix female, 62-pounds, learning how to walk on a leash, and ready to happily devote myself to you!
