Sometimes everything happens at once, doesn’t it? After my mom died unexpectedly and dad was too disabled to care for me (and my housemate, Jinx), we were whisked away from the home we’d know all our lives and brought here. For a 15-year-old declawed lady (who now has free vet care), that’s a lot to happen in a short time! I’m trying to make the best of it though, because the volunteers are super friendly and attentive and have been letting us know that things will surely look up from here. As is characteristic of a Tonkinese, I’m a delicate little thing with gorgeous “chinchilla-like” fur and love the human touch (just a bit of it elicits major purrs!), so I’m confident there’s a new life for me right around the corner!

It’s wonderful when family can care for each other when the need arises, but unfortunately for me, when my mom moved to be with her father, I couldn’t go too. It was doubly hard since I’d lived with kids and dogs all my life (not cats though, I can be pretty dominant with them). Mom said, “Casper might take a bit to warm up, but once he does, he’ll be in your lap, on the couch, and on the covers at night when you go to bed. He’s been with me since he was a kitten and he’s always been loving and close.” I’m a striking 7½ -year-old declawed Russian Blue/Siamese mix and I’m looking forward to doing all those things and more with you in the future!

“Adults only” usually applies to movies, but in my case that applies too! I lived with a houseful of kids and cats for five of my six years but was never happy with the arrangement so when the newest “little human” arrived, it was just too much. In my defense, mom said, “Tempe loves feather toys and the cat tower/scratching post. She loves to cuddle when she has the opportunity [I didn’t get that very often!], and would be ideally suited for an older or childless couple with no other pets in the house.” Well, I sound like a pretty good prospect to me, so I’m hoping I sound that way to you, too! Oh, since I’m FeLV positive (but very healthy!), I come with free vet care for life.
