Hi… my name is Brooklyn,

Adopted 4-21-17

Whew! My life has undergone so many changes lately, my head’s been spinning! First, my former family and I moved, my living area going from spacious to small, then they became very busy and there wasn’t time for me. Finally, they decided that the best thing for me would be a new home. So I’m here, scared and nervous at first, but happy to be enjoying lots of my favorite things again: I love treats, toys, walks (I’m very good on a leash) and especially the company of a kind person. I’m a very sweet 6-year-old Boxer mix female, a nice size at just 37 pounds, and when I look up at you with my big brown eyes, I hope you see the great friend I could be. How about we try that today?

Ace

Hi… my name is Ace,

Adopted 3-5-17

I was rescued by a volunteer who saw me chasing an SUV on Duval Mine Road near the TALGV entrance. But these days, I don’t have to run after friends because kind people come to me. I go for walks with volunteers—they like the way I sit to get ready and walk well on the leash, and they compliment me on being a very handsome 4-year-old Lab mix male, mainly black with white touches, looking good now (although a bit thin at 55 pounds on arrival). Shy at first, I’m a fast learner and soon warm to kindness. So won’t you please come for a visit? You might just find that I’m the loyal, loving companion you want in your life, and I I’ll do my best to make you glad I’m yours.

Hi… my name is Mr. Jingles,

Adopted 2-28-17

When found, I was injured—maybe hit by a car—in the area of my back legs. Fortunately, a wonderful foster mom took me home and let me rest until I was strong again. Then I was adopted, but my new person became ill and must now spend lots of time away from home, so I’m here again. Bottom line: It’s been a bumpy ride, but I’m fine. I’m young—just 10 months old—and if I do say so myself, a resilient guy, who’s ready now for my happiest home ever! Just 12 pounds, I’m a blonde Chihuahua male with alert ears and big brown eyes that are watching for my special someone—the person who’d enjoy a happy little companion and will let me love them forever. Could it be you?

Hi… my name is Marie,

Adopted 2-18-17

In my previous story, I told how my brother and I came here together, and now here’s the update: He’s been adopted—yahoo!—and I’m having my own exciting adventures. A volunteer invited me on a home visit and discovered lots of special things about me: I was great with her older, bigger dogs, (she actually said I was “perfect!”), seemed to want to potty outside when given the chance, was wonderful to bathe, and even appeared to know how to swim! Exploring her yard was so much fun—my little tail was wagging happy the whole time! I’m just over 2 months old, an adorable Aussie mix female with a merle coat in brown, tan and white, and if you give me a home full of love, I’ll love you right back forever!

Hi… my name is Donny,

Adopted 2-10-17

My puppy sister, Marie, and I were relinquished—which we’ve learned is a big word for “given up.” But please don’t feel sad for us because we are two happy puppies! We have our own suite here (they call it a crate, but when you’re still little and have all this space with a bed and room service—it feels like a luxury suite). And we play all day! Plus, people stop by to ooh and aah, telling us how cute we are. I’m just 2 months old, 6-1/2 pounds and growing, a Staffie/Aussie mix male with a handsome brindle coat and sweet face, and if you think I’m adorable, well, the feeling could be mutual! How about we meet today and see if we should be spending all of our tomorrows happily together!

Hi… my name is Tazra,

Adopted 8-18-17

Tazra comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Okay, let’s be up front here. I’m a 20-year-old lady (so I have free vet care for life) who’s getting a smidge creaky around the edges – my hearing isn’t quite what it used to be, I tend to nap and watch TV a lot, and I occasionally miss my litterbox (well, I get in it, I just hang over the edge a bit!) – but hey, there are a lot of people in Green Valley with the same “ailments!” I like to sit in your lap and get ear and chin scratches though, and I still play with toys occasionally, so I’m not a total stick-in-the-mud! Someone once said, “Blessed be the person who takes in an older cat, for their time with us is more important than our time with them.” I’m hoping you believe that!

Hi… my name is Orion,

Adopted 4-22-18

Orion has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

“Give this dog a chance. I promise you’ll love him!” My foster folks said that about me after we spent a week together. I’m a Deaf dog, so they had fun learning my sign language, and we all fell in love with each other except their other dog, that didn’t want me around. So, Foster Mom left messages for you about me, and here’s part of what she wrote: “This dog is amazing! Housetrained…good in a crate…loves other dogs and cats…very good at reading others to figure out how they want to play…at home he didn’t bark once…good when he slept with us—no messes, no fussing…he’s a very smart boy.” I’m a 3-year-old male, yearning to give you my whole happy heart. So what do you say—will you give me a chance?

Hi… my name is Rudy Red,

Adopted 2-4-17

How do you say cute? Well, “Rudy Red,” of course! OK, there may be cuter orange tabbies in the world, but I’ve gotta be right up there! I was found as a stray in the Sahuarita Heights area, and although the nice gentleman who rescued me only had me for three days, he said that I was playful (think kitten!), independent (ditto!), and really wanted to sleep with him all night or I let him know in uncertain terms (think “meeooow”!). Actually, I guess you’d call me a “teenager” at 6 months, but I’ve got all the right credentials to make anyone happy. I sure would be grateful if you’d let me show (or remind!) you how utterly charming we youngsters can be!

Hi… my name is Camper,

Adopted with Burt 7-3-20

Since arriving at TALGV in 2017 as a terrified stray, I’ve evolved from a don’t-even-look-at-me kind of guy to one who enjoys soft words, petting, and brushing. I’m still shy (I’ll never be the “meeter and greeter” type), but I have a peaceable soul, get along with other cats (especially my friend, Burt, who are what, in the neighborhood, you’d call “bros”). I often help make new cats feel more comfortable in their new circumstances, and when others hiss at me, I just turn and walk away. I’m so hoping there’s a patient cat person out there who’ll help me (and maybe Burt too?) remember what it’s like to be loved in a real home.

Hi… my name is Homie,

Adopted 2-16-17

“Very sweet, talkative, and attention starved. Homie came from a hoarding situation and didn’t have food at times and rarely received any sort of kindness.” That’s what my foster mom said after she rescued me, but after having me for three weeks, she said that I was really coming out of my shell and craving human interaction. When you’ve lived with twenty-some cats, it’s hard to assert yourself, so I always kept a low profile. Well, that’s something I’d like to fix right quick, so if you have a bit of patience and lots of love in your heart, I promise that you’d make my year! I’m a 2½ year-old boy with a distinctive tipped ear whose sole aim in life is to make yours happy!
