Animal League News

Hi… my name is Fenley.

Adopted June 27, 2015

I’ve discovered that chain link fences and cats just don’t mix! I was found wedged in one with a three-inch gash in my leg that TALGV has very kindly patched up, so I’ll be good to go in no time. I think I’ve had quite enough of the outdoor life to last for the rest of my nine lives, so I’ll be eternally grateful for a home where I can romp and explore without fear of something like that “getting me” again! I’m just a youngster at 18 months, and am a classic tabby and white girl who’ll undoubtedly be happy with a lap, a cozy bed, and a family (and maybe a feline playmate?) to help me while away the seasons in climate-controlled comfort!

Hi… my name is Marley.

Adopted September 30, 2015

The man who found me in the Safeway parking lot on Duval Mine Road said that he would have kept me in a minute, but he didn’t have a fenced yard for me to stretch my legs, so decided I’d do better with another family. I got along fine with his kids and the other animals I met, but since I arrived here I’ve been a little shy (but not “fearful” if that makes sense!), and am giving more tail wags and asking for affection with each passing day. The volunteers say I’m curious about toys (I may never have had the opportunity to play with them, who knows?), and they’re certain that I’ll be worth the investment in helping me understand that good things are in store for me with a new family.

Hi… my name is Lily.

Adopted May 31, 2015

Beautiful 10-month-old silver tabby female needs new home. Lily was born July 27, 2014, to a rescued mother. She is spayed and is up to date on shots. She sometimes takes a little time to warm up to new people, but she is great with small children and dogs. She loves to cuddle, play, and to “talk.” There is no adoption fee for Lily. If you would welcome her into a loving home, please call Victoria between 7 AM and 9 PM at 907-903-8661.

Hi… my name is Arrow.

Adopted June 13, 2015

If you know anything about herding breeds, then I probably don’t have to tell you how great I am (but I will anyway!). I love to rub against you and get tummy rubs, understand “no,” am crate-trained, walk beautifully on leash, and ride well in a car (just say “wanna go for a ride?” and I’m there!). I’m typically very athletic, so would make a great Frisbee or agility dog (you know the old “job to do” thing for us active brainiacs!). I sleep through the night and am on my way to being housetrained (pretty good for a 5-month-old huh?), love to meet new people, and will be very protective of my own when I’m in my new home. So attention all heeler lovers — I’m here waiting for you!

Hi… my name is Leah.

Adopted November 2, 2015

I may hold the dubious record for cats “returned most times to TALGV” through no fault of my own! I arrived as a stray for the first time back in 2010. I was adopted shortly thereafter, but my mom died a year later. I was adopted again, but that person had “too many outside interests,” and I came back one more time. Then, three years ago I was adopted by a couple that is now moving to a place that doesn’t allow pets! All my families have said that I’m a loving, playful, gentle lady (albeit a bit shy at times), and since I’m a beautiful combination of dilute tortoiseshell and grey tabby, I have high hopes that this year will see me in my really, truly, honest-to-goodness finally “forever” home!

Hi… my name is Archimedes (aka Archie 2).

Adopted June 28, 2015

For some reason I seem to end up with people that move on and can’t take me with them! My original owner was in the military and was posted overseas, and then the family that adopted me in 2012 decided to move back east to a place that didn’t allow pets. I’m beginning to get a complex, because I’m really a great guy who loves laps and to follow you around the house, so I’m a great companion! I’m a fairly large, 6-year-old orange tabby boy, who has lived with another cat, so I’m hoping to find a quiet settled home where there won’t be any more moves that don’t include me. Seriously, I want stability in my life, and I’m hopeful you’ll provide that for to me!

Hi… my name is Slate,

Adopted May 25, 2016

The senior couple that adopted me nine months ago is traveling back and forth to Alaska several times a year, and they felt that I wouldn’t make that trip easily as I’m pretty much a homebody. I lived with my first family (also seniors) for three years, and they said that I was still active, playful but independent, had absolutely impeccable house manners, and liked to “chase things” (especially cat treats!). They said that I seemed to be more affectionate with women (I particularly like mom’s lap!) but not “averse” to men (whatever that means!). I’m a gorgeous thick-coated, golden-eyed Russian Blue fellow who will undoubtedly bring my own special joy to a family that wants some feline action going on!

Hi… my name is Frank.

Adopted June 11, 2015

When they designed a small dog, they had me in mind! I only weigh 2½ pounds (most kittens that weigh more than that!), so you can imagine the peril I was in when I was found running in the street by Wal-Mart! Fortunately a lady scooped me up and took me home hoping she could find my owner, but after eight days, that didn’t happen. She did get a chance to get to know me though, and said that I’m a great guy who likes to get on furniture (‘cause that where you are!), but will mind and get down if you really insist. She discovered that I’m crate trained and walk well on a leash, so I’m sure to steal your heart if given the teeniest chance.
