Hi… my name is Clove.

I was adopted September 4, 2014.

They probably didn’t know when they christened me that my eyes would one day match my name! I do have quite astonishing amber eyes, and they go beautifully with my bold personality. I was adopted from TALGV in 2013, and although I loved my mom dearly, I didn’t get along with the other cat in the house, so I’m back “on the market” again. I love to snuggle in the (early!) morning and evening, am a real explorer (the “outgoing” part coming out!), and love to play with toys, so if you’d like a handsome, active, tabby and white fellow who’ll be with you through thick and thin, that would be me!

Hi… my name is Roscoe.

I was adopted on August 29, 2014.

Although my rescuers only had me overnight, they said, “This guy was good with all eight of our dogs – big and small – was relaxed with the family, and leash trained. He seemed quiet and calm, but was still recovering from his days in the desert alone. Someone is going to get a wonderful companion.” Those are pretty good credentials for a short stay! I’m sure the volunteers will be able to “fill in the blanks” as the days go by, so stay tuned for updates on the progress of one handsome Rottie gentleman — I bet you’ll be convinced that a “meet and greet” is in your future!

Hi… my name is Miko.

Adopted December 24, 2014.

Although I lived with my single, older dad for five of my seven years, his asthma bothered him the whole time, and lately it got just too much for him to keep me. The two of us led a quiet life, and although I was gentle and tolerant of kids and got along with other animals that visited, I think I’d really like to continue the tradition of just me and my person (or people!) living a laid back life. I’m a lovely calico lady who is a bit on the “plus size” (that could be remedied by fewer treats I’m guessing!) and it’s my dearest wish in life to spend the rest of it with you!

Hi… my name is Micky.

Adopted September 17, 2014.

I’d just managed to dash around the traffic on Sahuarita Road when a lady stopped, opened her car door, and in I jumped! Wasn’t I glad SHE came by! Since TALGV was “full to the gills” as usual, I’m staying at a boarding kennel ‘til there’s room for me to “move on up,” but I’m being walked and socialized, and the volunteers say that I’m young, energetic, and eager to GO! I’m getting better on a leash, but I’m happiest when I can lay my head in your lap and enjoy some petting during our “sitting time.” I’m a handsome Staffie mix boy who’s pining for my very own person to make life complete.

Hi… my name is Sadie.

Adopted November 29, 2014.

If you’re looking for a gal with an active mind, tons of energy (think of a hiking, walking, running partner!), and intelligence, well her name would be “Sadie”! I’m a striking, 35-pound Australian blue heeler who is a real “looker” with my one blue and one brown eye. I’ve had some professional obedience training (I know wait, sit, leave it, out, down and more!), and am perfectly housebroken, leash- and crate-trained. I’m still a high energy “puppy” though (at almost 18 months), so I’d probably be a wonderful candidate for agility training (keeps the old mind and body “occupied”!) in addition to providing lots of “together” time. So if you’re an experienced, “dog person” who can provide the leadership I need to help me realize my full potential, we should definitely meet!

Arrived July 28, 2014.

Hi… my name is Luna.

I was adopted on August 20, 2014.

My mom said, “Luna is a great dog. She’s been there for us during good times and bad. She loves our cats and kids and we are all going to miss her so much.” Sadly, my family lost their home and had to move in with relatives. Since they had a big female dog who didn’t appreciate my presence one bit, my people reluctantly had to relinquish me. I’m a beautiful shepherd/Chow mix girl, am leash trained, know “sit” and “shake,” love to play with ropes and balls, and am a superb “family caretaker” (I’ll be sure to let you know when a stranger is near!). I’m a bit at sixes and sevens at the moment, but I know once I’m in a new, settled home, I’ll be my old “take care of everybody” self!

Hi… my name is Cuca.

I was adopted August 16, 2014.

It seems like everyone is moving these days! There must be a dozen denizens here that got left behind when their families moved on — and we’re all a bit dazed by the abrupt change in our lives. I lived with my people most of my life, and they said that I’m gentle and tolerant of kids and other animals, am well behaved on leash, have perfect house manners, am not afraid of thunderstorms, and love to play catch. So with those credentials, you’ll know a good thing when you meet me! I’m an unusual liver-colored, heeler mix girl with a delightful “Zorro-like” mask, and although you might not know it yet, once we get together you’ll find that I’m going to be an essential addition to your life!
