Hi… my name is Barney.

Adopted November 3, 2014.

As part of the “Flintstone litter,” my five siblings and I lived with a foster mom for three weeks when we first arrived in early July because we needed a lot of extra care at our tender ages. She said that among all of the gang, I was sort of reserved at first, but if she picked me up, I just melted in her arms and purred. Well, I’ve continued that tradition now that I’m here — I’m a laid back guy who is content to watch or join in the fun — whichever option catches my fancy. I’m a young tuxedo boy who is going to turn into one handsome fella when I’m grown. But between now and then, why not take me home so you can enjoy the transformation?

Arrived June 29, 2014

Hi… my name is Slate.

Adopted October 10, 2014.

My people are moving across the country to a place that doesn’t allow pets (why would anyone want to live in THAT kind of home?), so I’m back at my alma mater eager to find new “digs” with a lively, but settled, family. I lived with my senior mom and dad for three years, and they said that I’m still very active, playful and “kittenlike,” have absolutely impeccable house manners, and like to “chase things” (especially cat treats!). They said that I seem to be more affectionate with women (I particularly like their laps!) but not “averse” to men (whatever that means!). I’m a gorgeous thick-coated Russian Blue lad who will undoubtedly bring my own special joy to a family that wants some feline action going on!

Hi… my name is Sapphire.

Adopted January 25, 2015.

My siblings and I were found under a house in Sahuarita when we were four weeks old. With no mom to care for us, we went to live with a wonderful foster mom who gave us tons of TLC. She said that my brother, Agate (who is still here with me), and I were the “runts” of the litter and very bonded so she really hoped we’d be able to find a home together. Because of all the handling we got as babies (the baths and blow dries weren’t great, but snuggling in warm towels afterward was terrific!), she said, “They may seem ‘ordinary’ black kittens to the casual eye, but they have exceptionally sweet temperaments and need a lot of cuddling and love.” Wouldn’t you like to be the one to give us that?

Hi… my name is Nell.

Adopted July 31, 2015

Life hasn’t been easy for me lately. I spent a lot of time just “hanging out” in a neighborhood off North Abrego Drive cadging food and water from the neighbors while managing to dodge all the resident dogs (boy, did I ever hate them!). Well I’m finally here, and I must admit it’s taking me a while to adjust to life again. I’m a gorgeous, medium-haired, calico Japanese Bobtail lady, and I do like petting now and again, but, like a lot of felines, when I’ve had enough, I’ll let you know. But I’m sure as the weeks go by, I’ll become more and more the lady I’m meant to be and realize that humans really do mean well and begin yearning for a quiet home of my own. Maybe yours?

Hi… my name is Teddy.

I was adopted August 2, 2014.

So you’re looking for a puppy, but maybe one that’s a bit more mature than those balls of fluff everyone falls for? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’m a charming 5-month-old black Lab (and maybe heeler) mix boy, who was found way out on El Toro Road and have that typical “on the way to growing up” personality. I’m very comfortable with the other dogs I’ve been “matched” with here at TALGV, and the volunteers say that I’m a very tolerant, “low-drama” pup who just needs normal supervision. I’m absolutely sure that once I’m comfortable in my new home and understand that I’ll never have to face the great outdoors alone again, I’ll be one doggone grateful fellow who’ll show you the real meaning of “puppy love”!

Hi… my name is Andie.

I was adopted July 10, 2014.

Sometimes you wonder what people are thinking! My family moved and left me in the house with no food or water until, happily for me, neighbors investigated and rescued me. I suppose that was marginally better than being dumped outside, but still…! Thankfully, I got to come to TALGV, and the volunteers said that they couldn’t imagine how anyone could have left a love like me behind (I was super cooperative when they did my “intake,” which involved some poking and prodding!), so they’re positive I’m going to be a marvelous companion for anyone (there were kids in my family so I’m good to go on that score!). I’m a lovely grey Russian Blue mix girl, about two years old, and I’m just here biding my time until YOU come along!

Hi… my name is Sizzle.

Adopted December 31, 2014.

“Feisty” (in a good way!) and “little doll” is how they’re describing me, so you can guess that I’m a pretty outgoing, typically into-everything kitten! I think I got my name because I wandered into a Sahuarita garage during the hottest part of the day, with no ventilation, food, or water (but no desert critters either – that was good!), and I was mighty hot by the time I was found! Anyway, I’m here now in all my glory, so if your summer needs some perking up, you couldn’t do better than letting me do it (along with another kid my age if you’re REALLY into excitement!). I’m a medium-haired solid little black boy whose goal is to be the life of your party!
