Fox

Hi… my name is Fox.

If you’re looking for an interesting mix of breeds in a canine buddy, take a gander at me! I’m a Corgi/terrier gentleman (with emphasis on “gentle”!) who, after living with my family for ten years, has lost his home. They are moving to a place that doesn’t allow pets (that should be against the law!), so it’s a good thing TALGV was here or I’d REALLY be homeless! My people said that a while back there were other dogs and two kids in the house, but lately it’s been just me and my older mom and dad. They said that I’m perfectly housebroken, love to play tug of war, fetch, will run around for hours, and then want to sit with you and get lots of petting. Oh, and since I’m 11 years old now, I qualify for TALGV’s “vet care for life” program, so what’s stopping you from making me your own?

Hi… my name is Georgia.

Adopted February 14, 2015

Living with a foster family has many benefits, not the least of which is that people find out more about my personality in a “real world” setting! Here’s what they said: “Georgia is a wonderful, lovable dog and enjoys nothing more than a good belly rub. She is completely housebroken, crate-trained, knows “sit” and “down,” likes to ride in the car (AND the golf cart!), and loves people (especially kids!). She will make someone a wonderful pet. She’s intelligent, willing to please, and has a great personality. If you’re looking for a companion who’s loving and loyal, she’s the one for you!” That said, here are my “vitals”: I’m a 56-pound grey and white Staffie girl, so please let me show you the “warm and fuzzy” side of my breed!

Hi… my name is Stitch.

I was adopted May 10, 2014.

I was just a wee kitten a year ago when my little family adopted me. Everyone had a grand time watching me grow up and life was a bed of roses until a new baby arrived a few months ago. I got along great with their 3-year-old and the two resident dogs, but I guess the addition of one more critter (who seemed to be getting WAY more attention than I was!) diverted me from the straight and narrow and my exemplary behavior changed. So here I am — looking for that special place in life where I can “have it all” as they say! I’m a handsome (and I DO come when you call me that!) flamepoint Siamese mix boy who loves cat toys (especially balls), and although I’m fairly shy (maybe because of all the action?) I’m sure if you’ll give me one more chance to prove myself, you won’t be disappointed!

Hi… my name is Kaboodle.

Construction dumpsters are good for lots of things — even offering a place for a lost or abandoned cat to hide from the elements (and other scary and dangerous things out in the desert!). The man who found me tried to find my owners by putting out signs and posting on Craig’s List, but no one responded, so here I am. He said I “seemed very friendly” (well, you can see for yourself now!), and allowed as how I ate really well (I was HUNGRY!), and that’s pretty much all anyone can tell you about me. Except, of course, that I’m a charming tabby and white boy,  and I’m going to be one happy camper when I get to move in to a safe, loving home of my own. I’ll show you that by making me part of your life, you’ll be getting the “whole kit and caboodle!”

Hi… my name is Elliott.

My first family found me when I was about 9 months old, and although they really wanted to keep me, they already had another dog in addition to two teenagers and just couldn’t afford another mouth to feed (even if mine is small!). I went to live with a really nice couple a few months ago, and they said I was very sweet boy who loves to sit in your lap, sleep with you, and play with my ball and stuffed toys. Unfortunately, they both started new jobs recently, and they weren’t home enough to give me the attention (and “continuing education”) I needed, so once more I’m dreaming of my perfect place in life. No one is quite sure of my origins, but it appears that I’m either a young Manchester terrier or Mini-pin mix, so if you have time for me, I sure do have time for you!

Hi… my name is Sashi.

Adopted October 31, 2014.

Sashi has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification.

Since I arrived last year, the volunteers have learned a lot about me, and I’m now especially proud to announce that I’ve earned my AKC “Canine Good Citizen” certificate (you can check all the things that qualified me for that on the Internet — just Google it!). They also say, “Sashi is a gentle girl with spurts of energy, and loves running outside in a fenced enclosure.  She needs plenty of regular exercise and would love an energetic family. She loves chew toys, tends to be docile, is attentive to children and loves to play with them (but sometimes prefers just being a couch potato!). I’m a 3-year-old, 47-pound tan and white Whippet/Staffie mix and I know with love, patience, and encouragement I’ll be a model friend and one of the best things in your life!

Arrived December 22, 2013.

Hi… my name is Balthazar.

They called Frank Sinatra “old blue eyes,” but I certainly qualify for that nickname too (well, not the “old” part!). A really nice man in Sahuarita found me crying outside his garage and as soon as he opened the house door in I scooted. He was going away for the holidays the next day so couldn’t keep me. (I guess that, plus the fact that he had nine dogs — who didn’t faze me one bit — meant that his home was not meant to be mine.) While he had me though, he said that I was super friendly and “seemed like I belonged to someone,” but since no one has come looking for me, I’m now available to YOU! I’m a handsome, gentle, mostly white Siamese mix young fellow with a hint of orange tabby thrown in for good measure, and I’ve got lots of time to show you how right he was!

Hi… my name is Roscoe.

I was only here at TALGV for a few days after I was found when a couple adopted me as a holiday present to each other. Sadly, I turned out to be “too rambunctious” for my disabled mom, so after just a few days, I came back. Although they think I’m about 2 years old, I’m still very puppyish and love playing with practically anything just to be active. While I was in their home, my adopters said that I was “good with everybody,” slept all night, ate well, and was a sweet guy — just too much for them to handle. I’m an endearing Chihuahua mix boy who does need some lessons in house manners (and basic obedience, I guess), but after you’ve invested a bit of time in that, I know that I’ll be your constant companion. What do you say — let’s try to work something out so that we’ll both be happy!

Hi… my name is Gibbs.

When I arrived at TALGV, my siblings were christened the “NCIS” litter, thus my name. Being the charmer I was, it wasn’t long before I was adopted and went to live with a young couple with two teenage kids. Although they didn’t have any other pets, I was around a lot of other animals, and my people said I got along great with them. I’m said to be gentle and tolerant, housebroken, and know basic commands (I’ve never had any “professional” training, so that might be a good thing for me). My people said that I’m very lovable and listen well, but need someone who will be home a bit more (their pet sitter moved away and there was no one to care for me when needed, so it got pretty expensive in a boarding kennel). I’m a young, black and tan Rottie/heeler mix boy, and I’m sure I’ll make this year one to remember!

Hi… my name is Pepper.

I was adopted September 8, 2014.

They say I’m a “green-eyed lover.” I’m a beautiful lady who was found when I was a kitten as a stray and taken in by a family that wasn’t able to keep me. I went to live with a new mom and pop shortly after I came to TALGV and they say that I’m a sweet, gentle lady who is very playful (I love ribbons, strings, tissue paper and little stuffed mice), but I sort of had “issues” with the resident dog after a while, so here I am back one more time. I’m a striking, shorthaired, all black gal (with those drop-dead gorgeous eyes!), so I’m hoping to find a family where I can be your only love. I promise to be all you want from a friend if you’ll just give me another chance, and I know I’d look elegant with a bright red bow sitting by your window!
