I was found as a kitten in the desert in November 2019 and didn’t have a lot of human “hands on” time so was justifiably wary of people. Even though I’ve been here almost two years, I’m still shy, but with a little patience, once you entice me out, you’ll find I enjoy being petted, have an endearing habit of rolling on my back for attention, like giving little kisses/nips, love playing with string toys, and getting treats. In my heart I know that a home of my own will be just the thing to bring out the love in me, so if you’re looking for a venture with a big payoff, that’d be ME!

I’m a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix with quite a bit of energy. I love long walks and my absolute favorite thing is playing ball! I’m quite affectionate and I like to be near my people as much as possible, although I can be a bit shy around some men. But I really like one of the guys who volunteers here and gives the best ear scratches you can imagine! The lady who found me said I was okay with her cat, too. I also love car rides and have been okay with being left by myself. (Just make sure you come back soon so I can greet you at the door!) Sometimes the Chihuahua personality in me takes over and I show you some spunk and personality! And—my adoption is free to qualified adopter!

“Cotton doesn’t like to be held, but gets in your lap when he’s ready. Because of my youngest granddaughter, he likes you to pet his tail and to hold onto it lightly. He needs a scratching post to deflect him from furniture (or use a water spray bottle, but a cat tree is more fun for him!).” My mom had to move in with relatives to care for her, so my feline friends and I came to TALGV to find new homes. I love head and body rubs, which invariably lead to satisfied kneading and purring on my part, so come do both of us a favor and take me home – the sooner the better!
