Lucky is a friendly and well-mannered 50-pound, 3-year-old male Hound mix that was found and needs a good home. He is neutered and micro-chipped and uses doggy door. He is good with other dogs; cats and children are unknown. Lucky is healthy and is up to date with his shots. He is obedient, loves to walk on leash, likes to ride in car, and is very smart. He is motivated by praise more than treats. There is no adoption fee for this special dog. Once upon a time, I was rescued from a big highway, and I’ve been a lively, active guy ever since. I’m happily entertained with squeaky toys and balls, but have been hesitant around strangers, and need time to get acquainted and trust new people. On the other hand, I positively thrived in the foster home environment. Foster mom reported I learned how to interact with two other dogs, rode beautifully in the car, stayed off her furniture, and was housetrained. I didn’t even try to steal the remote! Friends say I’m smart, energetic, and have pleased the patient, understanding people who care about me. Will you let me make you a proud dog parent?

Now that’s not to say that I don’t do other “stuff,” like rolling on the floor for belly rubs, following you around the house, and engaging in the enchanting stuff kittens do (at a year old, that’s what I still am!), but bottom line is I just want to be with you! I arrived here with my feline friends from a shelter that was closing, and although it was a long trip, we’ve all settled in and are ready to move on to real homes for the first time in our lives. I hope you’ll be the one to give me mine!

Elijah Blue

Change is really hard for some cats. For all of my 6 years, I’ve lived happily with my mom and another cat and we enjoyed the laid-back pace of a peaceful life. I loved to play with laser lights and toys, and pretty much was happy as the proverbial clam. When mom had to start using a walker, though, I started getting underfoot – and you know how that can end up – so she decided for her safety (and mine!), I needed to find a new home. I’m still trying hard to adjust to a strange environment, so I’m a “work in progress,” but if you keep an eye on me, you might just find the completed project will be worth the wait!
