Hi… my name is Paprika,

Adopted 12-21-17

There are “bad environments” and then there are really, really BAD environments, and that’s what I came from. There were about 30 of us in a hoarding situation, and thankfully an incredibly dedicated woman rescued all of us over the course of a few months. Several of my companions and I came here, and when we arrived, almost all of us had one sort of affliction or another. It’s been a long road to recovery, but we’re almost there and SO ready to have places of our own. I’m a delightful 4-month-old girl with the world’s fluffiest tail, and although still a bit stunned by my ordeal, I’ll warm up in no time and fill your house with affection, one purr at a time!

Hi… my name is Chan,

Adopted 6-26-18

Chan comes with Free Vet Care for Life

You know how they say, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”? Well, I’m a CAT, and I’m here to say that that doesn’t apply to ME! The volunteers here wanted me to get more exercise so they decided I needed to learn to walk on a leash. That’s not most cats’ favorite activity, true, but I just love it! And it gives me a chance to get “out and about” and say hi to visitors! When both my mom and dad ended up in wheelchairs, I had to find another home, and although I miss them, I know that my affectionate and gentle nature will charm you as much as it did them. I’m in great shape for my 13 years and have free vet care, so what’s not to love?

Hi… my name is Sarah (aka Spooky),

Adopted with Andromeda 12-2-17

There were tears aplenty when my mom brought my brother and me back to TALGV. She really didn’t have any choice though, as dad developed terrible allergies to us after ten months, so back to our old alma mater we came. Mom said that I’m playful, affectionate (she said if you don’t pet me enough I might nibble on your fingers to give you a hint!), and just love, love, love all kinds of toys (at only 13 months old that shouldn’t be surprising!). My brother and I are really bonded , so maybe you have room for two of us. Or I’d probably be happy “strolling down the avenue” with just you!

Hi… my name is Tedly (aka Treat),

Adopted 1-4-18

There were tears aplenty when my mom brought my sister and me back to TALGV. She really didn’t have any choice though, as dad developed terrible allergies to us after ten months, so back to our old alma mater we came. Mom said that I’m playful, very affectionate, will “eat everything” (no picky eater here!) adore tossing my toy monkey up in the air and chasing it, and well, pretty much love all kinds of toys (at only 13 months old that shouldn’t be surprising!). Truth be told though, people are my real “faves.” My sister and I are really bonded, so maybe you’d have room for two of us, but if not, I’d probably be happy “strolling down the avenue” with just you!

Hi… my name is Firecracker,

Adopted 10-23-17

My happy little life had a dramatic and dangerous beginning. When we were just days old, my brothers and I were part of a remarkable rescue—twelve dogs (including six newborns) found in a vacant house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Our TALGV friends worked frantically to save us all and they succeeded! Of course, our mom was helping the whole time, and she will always be our number one hero. When rescued, I weighed about 1 pound. Today, I’ve grown to 6.8 pounds, part of which is my curly blond-and-white coat (Mom was a Poodle mix). I’m now a playful, energetic, 4-month-old male puppy with lots to learn, so some patience and training required, but if I promise to stay adorable forever (and I do), may my happily-ever-after-home be with you?

Hi… my name is Kimber,

Adopted 8-2-18

Kimber has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

Once a lost dog wandering the streets of Chicago, I was rescued and moved to Arizona. (Pleasant surprise: There are lots of Chicago Cubs fans here.) When my person couldn’t keep me anymore, I came to TALGV, glad to be making new friends while looking for that special someone who’ll be my lifelong friend. Maybe you can see the hope in my big brown eyes. If we become acquainted, you’ll know I’m affectionate and sweet with my person, love bath time, and like to snuggle under a soft blanket. I also know some commands and will usually quiet down when you say, “shhh.” A tan, 9-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, about 40 pounds, I’d love to be your lap dog, but will be forever happy just being by your side as your loyal, loving companion.

Hi… my name is Wesson,

Adopted 9-29-18

Wesson has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Your attention and affection make me so happy, sometimes you’ll see me give you my best doggie smile. I love belly rubs, being petted, and—full disclosure—I’ll sleep right beside you given the chance. (It’s okay to put my cushion on the floor so there’s room for you in the bed.) I also love to learn, which is how I earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate, awarded for excellence in the behavior department! I’m a 4-year-old Staffie mix male, down to 75 pounds on a nutritious diet and still strong. I wasn’t raised around children, but when I met two young boys here, my behavior with them was “wonderful.” I’m best as your only dog, and if you let that dream come true, I’ll try to make you smile every day, too.

Hi… my name is Rocket (aka Rocky),

Adopted 11-1-17

Rocket comes with Free Vet Care for Life

When you’ve lived with your people since you were 5 weeks old (and now you’re 10), you can understand why I’m shy in this strange new place! I’m a pretty reserved guy to begin with (but was a “total lap cat” with my senior mom and dad), so things are going to be doubly hard for me for a while. I long for a quiet home (dad was said to have an impressively loud voice which sometimes disconcerted me!), with a patient, understanding person who’ll give me the time I need to adjust to a new life. I know there are people like that out there, so I’m hopeful you’ll be the one to give this declawed gentleman (with free vet care) a chance to shine!
