Hi… my name is Scout.

Adopted November 23, 2014.

You can pick up a lot of good stuff at the Sahuarita Food Bank, but stray dogs aren’t usually on the list! A very nice man found me there and waited around for a while to see if anyone might claim me, but when that didn’t happen, he very kindly took me home. I was only with him for one day, and pretty much stayed in an outdoor room with a door to the yard, but he said I was a “lovely” dog who just seemed to need some training. Well, if you know us cattle dogs, you know that will be a snap for me, and since I’m a friendly 57-pound young boy, and still being pretty much a adolescent, my education should take no time at all.

Hi… my name is Charlie Chaplin.

Adopted March 19, 2016

I guess there won’t be anyone out there wondering how I got my name! My “moustache” just adds that extra “something” that makes me so distinctive. My mom adopted me with two other cats a while ago, and although I’d gotten along okay with my fellow felines here, it was apparent that I was a bit insecure with the competition in my new home, so I’d really prefer to be an “only child.” Mom said that she thought a “quiet, predictable” environment where I can “do my own thing” and not have to vie for lap time would be best for me. I’m a sweet Tuxedo boy who is playful, curious and eager to explore my surroundings, so if that sounds like your household, I’d probably fit in just fine!

RUBY is a smart, calm and sweet 45-pound Heeler mix who needs a new home. She was inherited from a family member by a folks that already had four dogs. They really love her but feel she would be happier where there is not so much competition for time. Ruby pays close attention and knows several commands very well: sit, lay down and go to bed. She is housebroken, crate trained, and very low maintenance. Ruby is a healthy 10-year-old, spayed, microchipped, up to date with shots, and her medical records are available. She gets along well with other dogs, kids of all ages and even some cats.

Hi… my name is Rango.

Adopted December 1, 2014.

When a Border Patrol agent saw me cross the border I was near death, so what could he do but take me home? I was mighty happy to get into his vehicle, I can tell you! In the two months that he nursed me back to health, he said my “good qualities” were that I was “lovely, loyal, and listens” and he probably would have kept me forever, but his oldest dog wasn’t having any of me (although the younger one and I got along fine), so here I am looking for a family that will help me get my very own “green card” and a chance to see what “the good life” is all about. I’m a handsome young shepherd/Lab mix boy who only needs TLC and training to be a good “citizen.”

Hi… my name is Abrega.

Adopted November 20, 2014.

As many of you probably know, a Chihuahua’s many charms include our small size and outsize personality, but we’re also fully capable of competing in dog sports. More than anything else though, we love being with our people and boy does that go quadruple for me! I have simply never met a lap I didn’t like! I get along okay with other dogs when we’re out playing, but when it comes to my home life, I’d really rather not have to share my person’s affections with any anyone else (they say I’m “single and loving it”!). I was found wandering the streets in Rancho Abrego a while back and while I’m enjoying the attention I get here, I’d sure like to have lots more of it — preferably now!

Hi… my name is Spirit.

Adopted November 4, 1014.

I’m a very loving, high-energy husky/shepherd mix girl who was adopted from TALGV by a mature couple in February 2009 when I was a year old. Recently my dad died, and mom feels that she alone can’t provide the attention I need. True to my name, I’m very “spirited,” and Central Pet in Amado has volunteered that I can live there for a while so they can continue to oversee my health and training. Everyone agrees that I’m a great (and totally gorgeous!) dog who needs an adopter that is enchanted enough with me to meet my needs (well, you know — just like with every dog!). Why not make an appointment to come visit me and see for yourself?

Leo

Hi… my name is Leo.

Adopted November 22, 2014.

I’m sure my family’s friends meant well when they gave me to them as a present for their new baby, but given that they already had two other dogs, I was probably not “just the perfect gift” for an otherwise-occupied family! But for the family that DOES have the time, well, let me tell you, I’m one terrific fella! I’m a purebred Queensland heeler, just under a year old, and I already know lots of commands, have learned to “wait” before I’m allowed to eat (and then dig in when you say “okay”), am crate- and house-trained, and enjoy going for car rides in my crate. As my mom said, “he just wants to love and be loved and be your loyal companion.” What else is there?

Arrived October 20, 2014.

Hi… my name is Crickett.

Adopted December 2, 2014.

I’m hopeful that the old adage “third time’s a charm” applies to me, because I have to admit that through no fault of my own, I’ve “been around the block” a few times! Sadly, my previous senior owners had to go into assisted living and I ended back here both times. My recent mom says that I’m a very sweet lady, though, and I love to play with laser lights, crumpled paper, and tossed cat treats (exercise you know!). I am beautiful, 7-year-old, Siamese and dilute torti mix girl with enchanting green eyes, and my goal is to find a home with someone who is a real “cat person” and loves the “chatty” Siamese personality. Will you be the one to give me one more chance?

Arrived October 19, 2014.
