Hi… my name is Mittens.

Adopted October 30, 2015

There are several personality descriptions owners can choose when surrendering a pet, and my mom checked ALL of them for me: quiet/laid back, playful/kittenlike, independent, and dependent/needy! Well, I AM a cat after all — obviously one with multiple personalities! I lived with my mom and her parents for twelve years, but now that the parents are moving, she has nowhere to go that will take me too. She said that I’m very friendly, but shy with strangers (a not uncommon cat trait!), love to be “babied” and “loved on,” and don’t like to be shut up in a room all by myself for very long (who would?). So with those bona fides, and Free Vet Care for Life, what more could you want?

Mittens comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

Hi… my name is Ranger.

Adopted October 22, 2014.

One look at me and you’ll agree that I’m the classic “happy face” guy! It’s clear that I had a home in the not-too-distant past, as I’m as friendly and outgoing (and kid loving) as can be. I was seen wandering in a Rancho Sahuarita neighborhood for several days before a kind man brought me here in hopes that someone would reclaim me. I was wearing a blue collar, so that was even more encouraging, but I wasn’t microchipped and had no tag, so I guess it’s been long enough now that I can start my search for a new, active home. I’m a 62-pound black Lab gentleman, who is outgoing, gentle (in that inimitable Lab way!), and promise to be the perfect addition to any active home.

P J

Hi… my name is P J.

Adopted October 8, 2014.

It’s amazing what miracles a little love and patience can work! I had been “living rough” in Arivaca for several months, relying on the kindness of strangers for food. After the volunteers rounded me up and brought me here I was pretty frightened for a while, but as the days have gone by, I’m finding that life (and the humans who go along with it) really can be grand and am coming out of my shell more each day seeking attention. I’m a small shepherd mix girl (they think I might have some Kelpie in me, too), and if you spend a bit of time sitting with me you’ll see that all I really want is a safe home and a loving family that I can shower with loyalty and gratitude.

Hi… my name is Crystal.

Adopted December 2, 2014.

I can tell you I am one happy camper to be here! A kindhearted woman found me in Elephant Head eating plastic and cardboard. It was obvious that I’d recently had puppies, and since I had severe bite marks they assumed I gotten them defending them from predators (sadly my babies were nowhere to be seen). I was so exhausted when I arrived, that I slept for two days! Well, my wounds have been treated and I’m on my way to healing, so I can rest easy now knowing that the volunteers will make sure I find a family that can shower me with affection to help me forget my ordeal. I’m a sweet hound/heeler mix, and I sure am looking forward to my new lease on life!

Hi… my name is Bugger.

Adopted November 20, 2014.

If you’re looking for a cat that you can carry around like a baby, your search is over! There aren’t many felines that enjoy that mode of transport, so I’m pretty unusual in that respect! When my mom lost her home, she had no one who could take me in ‘til she found a new one, so she sadly had to relinquish me. She’s written a whole bunch of good stuff about me, so I’ll just give you the bare bones: I get along great with kids, dogs, and (nice!) cats. I love ice water, looking out windows, sitting in sunrooms (the fresh air, you know!), and being with my person. I’m a tabby and white “tub of love” who’s sure to be your best friend in no time!

Hi… my name is Ricardo.

Adopted October 11, 2014.

You have to meet me in person to appreciate what a big guy I am (85 pounds!), as my pictures don’t quite do my size justice. The Wal-Mart parking lot seems to have been getting its share of strays lately, and I’m one of them. Maybe I escaped from a car (although the windows would have had to be been WAY down for that!), or maybe I was abandoned, but I’m here now in all my glory, waiting to find a “big dog” family (with plenty of space!) looking for a guy like me to love. I’m a handsome shepherd/Doberman mix, about 4 years old, and the volunteers say that I’m a quiet fellow and a “true gentle giant.” Why not come see for yourself – it might just be love at first sight!

Hi… my name is Nova.

Adopted November 9, 2014.

My family adopted me a year ago from TALGV after I’d come in because I was jumping the fence to go exploring (well, I was left in the yard all day so was just looking for some fun!). My new people had me for a year, but since they were fostering several really young children they were worried that my “lust for life” was a bit too overwhelming for them. I’m a hound/shepherd mix guy who is affectionate, outgoing, and want to both give and get lots of love. I’m perfectly house-trained, walk well on a leash, and love squeaky toys (and kids!). I need some work on curbing my enthusiasm around people, but then I’ll be a companion with whom you’ll want to spend all your time (both indoors and out!).

I’m a charming Poodle and maybe Norfolk terrier mix girl, and if you spend some time sitting with me, you’ll see that all I really want is a safe home and a loving family that I can shower with loyalty and gratitude.

Hi… my name is Waylon.

Adopted October 10, 2014.

Three years old, ten pounds, and a Chihuahua — what more could you “little dog” lovers want? Everyone thought for sure my owners would come looking for me in a day or two after I’d been found in the Duval Safeway parking lot, but I’ve been here twiddling my paws for three weeks now and I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen! SO…all you need to know is that like all members of my breed, I’ll be good with families (if the children are gentle) and because of my small size, I don’t require a whole lot of exercise (well, some!) and minimal grooming. All I need are the “basics” of dog care: plenty of food, love, attention and a lap to call my own forever. C’mon, you KNOW that’s you!

Hi… my name is Wyatt,

Adopted February 25, 2016

Wyatt earned/received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification on July 6, 2015.

I’m Wyatt (like the Earp guy); a large, white Staffie mix bundle of joy! I love people (not cats) and will do almost anything to please my person. Plus, I’ve passed my Canine Good Citizen test and stay sharp with regular training tune-ups. My TALGV friends enjoy taking me to the Farmers’ Market and other events, and I love to strut my stuff on walks around Sahuarita Lake. Sometimes my person reminds me not to be too energetic in an exciting moment on my leash, and I mind that, as well as “leave it” for things I shouldn’t get too close to. My last kennelmate just got adopted, so I’m lonely, but you could make me happy again. Please let me show you what a super companion I’ll be once you call me yours.

Hi… my name is Monty.

Adopted November 16, 2014.

How can you resist this face? There seems to be an overabundance of lost “little guys” lately, and I’m sad to say that I’m a member of that not-so-lucky club. I AM lucky in that I ended up here, though, as had I not been rescued from Nogales Highway, I might not be around to promote myself! I’m a darling, young tan and white Chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier mix boy with a bit of salt and pepper around my nose. Since I’ve been living in an enclosure here in “The Den” at TALGV, it’s obvious that I’m perfectly crate-trained, so I’m sure my house manners will be exemplary. It’s also really special for me when people come to visit because I LOVE attention, so I promise to be the lap dog of your dreams when we’re together!
