I was adopted March 23, 2014.
I’m an extraordinarily handsome little guy with the most rare of color for a feline – sort of charcoal tabby with a little white on my chest — and like all kittens, I’m just as sweet as can be. I was found living in a power plant by some workers who brought me to TALGV where I joined all the other kittens here (there’s been a bumper crop of them this year!). They say that I “purr on contact,” so you know that I’m really craving my very own human that I can sing my “songs” for! I’ve grown up a bit since I first arrived and am a teenager, but I’m still a lover and am waiting (a little impatiently!) for that special person to fall in love with me. I do so hope that you’re right around the corner!

Hi… my name is Mr. October.
My siblings and I arrived at TALGV back in July, and because there were twelve of us, we all got “month” names! At the time, no one tried to match our names to our sex, so some of us have “girl” names (like April and June who are really guys!), but some of us got lucky and have “unisex” names! Because of our not-so-stellar beginnings, all of us came down with a few ailments when we were small, but now we’re all better and growing into lovely medium- and longhaired lovers. I’m a handsome solid black boy who is just as playful as the dickens (having a lot of brothers and sisters to romp with is WAY fun!), but I’d really like to have my own family and home where I can grow into the fantastic feline I’m destined to be. Wouldn’t you like to make that happen for me?

Hi… my name is Simba.
My friend, Sophie, and I lost our mom in 2007, and because of his health, our dad couldn’t take care of us anymore. Sophie found a home of her own, and I went to live with another family for a few years, and although I was a sweet guy, my behavior changed when a new pet and a “male person” were introduced to the house and I didn’t cope well. I am a handsome orange tabby boy and am very friendly, but can be quiet and laid back too. I love my scratching post, to be brushed, and even come to you when called to sit in your lap. Everyone pretty much agrees that when I’m the “only child” in a lady’s-only home where I can be top guy, I’ll revert to my old, impeccable habits. (By the way, since I’m in the “over 10” category, I qualify for TALGV’s “Vet Care for Life” program!).

Hi… my name is Tango.
I was adopted on April 29, 2014.
My sister, Gizmo, and I lived with our mom since we were born on May 17, 2005. Sadly, her health now dictates the she needs to move back east to live with family, and we weren’t able to go along, so we’re hoping we’ll find another wonderful person to spend the rest of our lives with. We’re Border collie mixes and here’s a bit of what mom said about us: “Gizmo and Tango are like Siamese twins and have never been apart from the moment they were born. Even though they’ve only been around each other, I think once they meet another dog, they’d be fine.” Neither one of us is very fond of thunderstorms, but if you take us both (which we are really hoping you do!) with your help we can comfort each other during the monsoon season, and then we can have the rest of the year to be just plain wonderful companions!
Note: Because of my age I qualify for TALGV’s Senior Vet-Care-for-Life program.

Sadly, her health now dictates the she needs to move back east to live with family, and we weren’t able to go along, so we’re hoping we’ll find another wonderful person to spend the rest of our lives with. We’re beautiful black and white Border collie mixes, and here’s a bit of what mom said about us: “Gizmo and Tango are like Siamese twins and have never been apart from the moment they were born. P.S. Because of my age I qualify for TALGV’s Senior Vet-Care-for-Life program.

Hi… my name is Casey.
My dad went into assisted living and the only thing the people who brought me here said about me was “indoor cat!” Well, I am declawed, after all — although ALL cats should be indoors here in Arizona! What I CAN tell you is that even though I have a “cauliflower ear” (which just really adds to my uniqueness!), I’m a beautiful, longhaired calico lady, who checked out pretty well “health-wise” when I first arrived, and since I’m in the “over 10” category, I qualify for TALGV’s “Vet Care for Life” program!. I weigh just a little over 9 pounds (there’s more fur than body!), and since I lived with a senior citizen, I’m probably going to want to have a fairly quiet home again (but, hey, you never know do you?)! Why not come by and meet me — I’ll bet love will be just around the corner for you!

Hi… my name is Chess.
My little family is moving out of the country, and with all the rules and regulations (and quarantine) involved in bringing an animal with them, they felt that it would be easier on me if I found a new home. I’m a beautiful black Lab mix girl who has lived with three kids ages 7, 8, and 9 months (so you know I’ll be good around children) and I get along fine with other animals, too. My dad said that I LOVE walks (they’re good for the physique, you know — both mine and yours!), and also like to play fetch, although I haven’t gotten the “bring it back” part down pat yet. I’m perfectly housebroken (I use a doggie door or “ask”), am crate trained, and walk like a lady on a leash. So all you need to do now is make room for me in your life, and we’ll all be happy!

Hi… my name is Lily.
The people who found me in the desert already had a mastiff, a cattle dog, a pointer, a Shar-Pei, and a Lab — so no surprise that they couldn’t keep me, too! They lived in Patagonia — and their place had lots of room to roam — but adding another dog to the mix of five (pretty big ones!) would have been an awful lot to ask! They did keep me for two weeks though, and said that I was good with all the other dogs, have a very sweet temperament, am a good swimmer, love to play outside, and am a big, smart, obedient girl. I’m a striking, brindle-colored greyhound and Great Dane mix and will be a wonderful addition to any family. I’d love have another canine buddy to romp with (they said I NEED to play!), but if it’s just you and me, that would probably work for me, too!

Hi… my name is Rafferty.
I was adopted on June 30, 2014.
There are lots of interesting places between Esperanza Boulevard and Duval Mine Road, but I was too close to Interstate 19 to be able to check them out before a lovely lady picked me up and saved me from anything bad happening. Where I came from is a mystery, but in the short time she had me, she said that I had a sweet disposition and the volunteers here seem to agree. Although I can be a bit shy on first meeting you, I warm up to people really quickly. I’ve had a run all to myself for a while, so they’re still working on finding out my “social skills” with other dogs, but I’m doing pretty well walking on leash so I’m sure all my other qualities will become evident in no time. I’m an interesting young Boxer/terrier mix with black/tan/brindle coloring, so come meet me and see how terrific I am for yourself!
