“A friend found her along the road, but she’s allergic to cats, so couldn’t keep her. Mija is diabetic and needs shots twice a day, so I’m not able to care for her either. She’s the most endearing cat I’ve ever seen – she’s super loving and adores being petted. My friend said when she found her it looked like she’d been frantic and confused and in panic tried to climb a cholla cactus.” Quite a saga, huh? Well after all that, I’m now on the mend and ready for a 180-degree turnaround in my life! I love company and I’m an excellent host—friendly, a good listener, always willing to share my water bowl (although there aren’t a lot of takers on that)—so won’t you please pay me a visit? I’m a good sized guy, a Hound mix, and you may be pleasantly surprised at how courteous I can be—quietly giving you my full attention while hoping you’ll notice me. My previous people gave me up without complaint because they no longer wanted me. That hurt, but it’s in the past. In the future (I’m just a young guy, so looking forward to a great future), I’ll be someone’s devoted, loving companion forever. Could my special someone be you?

You know two words I’d like to see disappear from the English language? “Landlord issues!” That’s what happened when my family exceeded its allotment in pet “dependents.” Then my second family decided to move out of state to a place that didn’t allow pets (pretty poor planning, I’d say!), so I’m hopeful my third home will be a charm. Anyway, I got along with everyone, loved sitting in windows, and being petted (on my head). I’m not big on being held. however, but sometimes I’m in the mood, so I’ll let you know (I have a “very sassy attitude”)! I’m a 4½-year-old bundle of fun just sitting here waiting for Mr. (or Ms.) Right to appear!

It’s hard to believe when you first see how young and dainty I am, that I’m the mama of six kittens! They’re called the “jewel litter” and I’m not ashamed to say that I’m aptly named as the “diamond” of the bunch! A kind man found and cared for me until my babies were old enough to be adopted, and although I’m happy to see them all go their own ways, and I’ll be even happier when I can go mine! I’ve still got lots of endearing kitten ways (‘cause that’s what I am!), and am the sweetest thing in the world, so I know we’ll spend many years trying to “out love” each other!

Given that I’m still a kitten at about 1 year old and would normally be mingling with people and enjoying life, something bad must have really scared me before I was rescued from the streets, ‘cause I’m pretty timid right now. I’m working on it hard though, and the nice people here tell me that everything will be okay if I’m patient and trusting. I’m a handsome little guy and once I discover the “me” that’s meant to be, I’ll make a wonderful companion (and probably stick like glue to you in appreciation for keeping me warm and safe!). Everyone needs a good deed to do, and I hope I might be yours!

I’ve had many different homes, so have tons of “house experience!” I’m also leash trained, know lots of other commands like “sit,” “walk,” “stay,” “lie down,” “come,” and “go outside” (that’s the most fun of all!). For extra enjoyment, I love car rides, and when you sleep, I’m happy to lie on a blanket by your bed. The best thing though is to be your center of attention (because I value my “personal space,” other companion dogs should be low-key personalities), and I can sometimes be a bit shy around men. If you’re an experienced “dog person” (and know and love Boxers), then this 7½-year-old gentleman is the one for you!
