When my dad moved, it would’ve been nice if he’d chosen a place where I could go, too, but that didn’t happen, so I’m back at my alma mater with toes, paws, and whiskers crossed hoping someone will see what a gem is hidden behind this quiet façade. I lived with a Sheltie most of my life and we got along splendidly, so a cat-savvy dog might be okay for me again (although it wouldn’t be world’s end if I were your “one and only”!). I’m a quintessential brown tabby gentleman who loves you to sit next to me while I eat (I won’t ask you to do that forever, but it helps my current shyness!), and I’m sure with patience and love, the “real me” will be the feline of your dreams!

TALGV sure has been getting its share of “needy” cats lately! Their Outreach Program was providing medical assistance for me for quite some time as I had a broken jaw and scabs, rashes, and sores all over my body. To add insult to injury, I tested positive for FIV, but none of that has made a dent in my outgoing nature, sweetness, and love of attention (all that handling during my medical care had a positive effect!). Now my catnaps every day are filled with dreams of a home where I can be the only guy (or one among any number of other FIV positive felines), where my struggles will be but a distant memory and I can greet every day with a rub and purr just for you!
Arrived March , 2015
PS If ANY cat considers you for adoption, you know you’re pretty lucky, but if one of our few FIV cats picks you, you can be sure you’re REALLY special!
NOTE: FIV is a virus that can only be passed among cats (humans or dogs are never affected), and only through blood. Since cats rarely fight to the degree of drawing blood, FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives with both other FIV positive cats and friendly non-FIV cats. So don’t let those letters scare you — they’re practically like everyone else and they’ll love you even more for choosing them!

Sometimes the best of intentions go awry. My folks had hearts of gold and, like lots of people, just couldn’t say “no” when a stray cat arrived in their yard. After they’d accumulated 20 of us (none neutered!), they realized that they needed help finding us safe homes. So TALGV’s Outreach Program came to the rescue, and we’re here now and ready for just that — homes of our own. My mom adored me and said, “Zee enjoys her siblings, especially Bashful. She is most loving in the early morning and middle of the afternoon. She needs her ‘lap time’ every day and is very obedient and mild mannered.” Combine all that with my winning still-kittenish ways, and you’ve got one very appealing black and white package!

Thanks for looking at my pictures. My biography is under construction. Please stop back again to read about me or… even better… stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Kennels are open 10-2 every day.

She likes to lie in your lap and be combed and brushed and will be a wonderful friend.” I have some eye issues that are being treated, but they don’t hinder me one bit, so I’m going to simply love living indoors with you for the rest of my nine lives!

He is just a pleasure to have around.” What more can I add? That I’ll love you to pieces? Yep!

After being rescued six months ago, I lived with a family that included five kids (ranging in age from 12 down to 4), two male dogs, and a bearded dragon! Now that’s an active combination if ever there was one! My people said, “Cheyenne is very gentle with the kids and will make a great walker and lap dog (if you have a big lap!). She is a very well- rounded girl and we all loved the chance to help her. She will make her new family very happy.” Well, now! What more do you need to know (except that I sometimes don’t like female dogs — my only shortcoming apparently). I’m a striking, brindle Lab/Boxer mix who would love the chance to show you just what a fantastic companion I can be!

Anyone who’s ever had a Basset hound or a Dachshund can tell you, we’re just about the most delightful dogs in the world — and I’m no exception! I totally ADORE people (and the attention that comes from them!), I have a sweet, happy temperament, love walks and car rides, playing fetch, and am just plain very smart. I’m crate trained, but I’m still working on perfect house manners (my foster mom said, “If I just had one more week…” when she left for vacation). I get along with other dogs (but am not terribly fond of little kids and have never been around cats), so all I need to be the perfect companion is consistency in my training. If you’ve got that, have I got a deal for you!
