Hi… my name is Kita.
My “given” name is Chiquita, but like lots of names, people have been using the diminutive, so Kita I’ve become. My family lost their home and left me with a friend to care for until they could take me, but that never happened. My “foster” mom would have kept me, but she had a lot of health issues and wasn’t able to give me the exercise I needed (she also didn’t have much of a yard, so I couldn’t get my daily calisthenics in that way either!). I’m a white, 29-pound, shorthaired, American Eskimo Dog mix (okay, I don’t have the long, plush fur they do, but I’ve got other attributes like their “smile”!) about 10 years old (so I qualify for TALGV’s “Vet Care for Life” program!) and I’m a lovable, quiet and submissive lady. I just know that there’s one more family out there that wants to make the rest of my life complete!

Hi… my name is Bella.
I was found running in the street near a restaurant called “Bella …something,” but my rescuer already had twelve (!) dogs at his place, so one more mouth was WAY over the top and he needed to find me a nice home of my very own. I am a young brindle and white Staffie mix girl weighing approximately 30 pounds. TALGV is making sure I am in good health and giving me lots of attention (although I’d really rather not share it with so many other dogs!), so I am half-past ready to go home with you. My training in my previous life seems to have been quite good, and I get along very well with other dogs. I have a sweet temperament and really want to please, so I hope you will consider adding me to your family so we can be together for a long time to come.

If you’re a “big dog” person, have I got a deal for you! My little family had to relinquish me because their landlord said I was too big (I started out life with them as a puppy, but, like Topsy, I “just growed” I guess!). They had so many good things to say about me — I’m calm, good with other dogs, great with kids of any age, not toy or food dominant, respond to whistles, and like to give hugs (if you don’t mind a 73-pound hugger!). I’m perfectly house and crate trained, walk well on or off leash, know “sit, lay, shake” and the ever popular “hug” when you pat your upper chest. I’m an impressive brindle-colored Labrador mix boy who wants so badly to be part of an active family. Maybe if I can find that, I’ll be able to stop missing everyone I had to leave behind. Can you help with that?
