Hi… my name is Trouble,

Adopted February 6, 2016

No, I don’t live up to my name! My given name was “Boots” but my first family called me “Trouble” because I sometimes liked to unravel toilet paper rolls (I understand that that hobby isn’t totally unique to me!). After my dad died, mom couldn’t care for me alone any longer, so I came to TALGV in 2014. Another family adopted me shortly afterward, but they though I was a bit too independent for them (they said I didn’t like to be hugged or come when called — not very “catlike” things anyway!). I’m a 2-year-old declawed tabby and white boy who’s active, affectionate, curious, and loves to play with toys on strings. So if you’re looking for entertainment, a purry friend, and don’t mind a few shredded TP rolls, then I’m your guy!

Hi… my name is Curly.

Adopted July 7, 2015

I’ve heard of dogs being abandoned in the desert but never at an obedience school! I might not have been the star of the show, but I couldn’t possibly have been that bad! Well, since that day two years ago when my mom rescued me (and recently had to relinquish me because of her health), I’ve learned most of the things that I was supposed to back then. I totally love kids and people (but I still need training on getting along with other dogs — see below*), so with my outstanding people skills, excellent house manners, and penchant for laps (at 20 pounds I’m just about perfect!). I know there’s another loving home in my future, so this 3-year-old Poodle mix boy is just waiting here for that to come along!

Hi… my name is Anna.

Adopted June 6, 2015.

With my perpetual smile and sparkling personality, you wonder how I came to be abandoned at Anamax Park! Happily, the Sahuarita police found me before anything untoward happened, and now I’m here getting lots of love and assurances that “it was nothing I said!” They’re thinking I’ve got lots of Corgi in my genes (the short legs), but I suppose you might also think of me as a “mini-Golden,” as I’m just as outgoing and sweet as they are. Whatever — at 25 pounds and approximately 2 years of age, I’m going to be the best thing you could have done for yourself this summer!

Hi… my name is Spirit Boy,

Adopted December 14, 2015

The nice lady who found and cared for my brother, Shadow, and me after we were born to a feral mom in early 2015, tried to make sure that we didn’t stay that way for long. But because we’d spent so much time out there looking over our shoulders, we both seem to live up to our names — we’re on the shy side and need to be able to come out of our shells and learn to trust on our own terms. Deep down, I know we really want to be part of the family, so if you let me “do my own thing” and not “push it,” then I think you’ll end up with an exceptionally grateful and handsome glossy black boy, and that’s going to be wonderful for both of us!

Hi… my name is Lucy.

Adopted June 4, 2015

When you come to shelter with ten other black cats, you figure your chances at getting adopted might be pretty slim! Well, I’m hoping that TALGV is the special place that proves that concept wrong by making sure our attributes and individual virtues are “out there” for all to see! We came from an overcrowded situation, so we’re all keeping pretty low profiles at the moment, but in no time our “real selves” are sure to emerge. None of us have had a lot of “play experience,” but the volunteers are teaching us that that really is a thing that cats do, so we’re all trying to get the hang of being the friendly, outgoing felines we were born to be. If you could help me in that endeavor, I’d be ever so grateful!

Hi… my name is Baby Jane.

Adopted by TALGV volunteers November 23, 2015

You have to wonder about people! I lived with my family all my life, but when they decided to go away for the summer, I was unceremoniously dropped off at TALGV pretty much on their way out the door! Not a thought to finding a “summer sitter” — nope — just an inconsiderate “we’ve-got-our-lives-to-live-and-forget-the-cat” attitude! Okay, they did say I was a “good cat” — but I’m ever so much more than that! I’m a lovely 8-year-old calico/tabby mix lady who, although shy at times, is gentle and loving at heart and would love to spend the rest of my live proving that to you. If you’re the kind of person who wouldn’t think of “moving on” without taking your companion along, then I think we should meet!

Hi… my name is Diane.

Adopted June 8, 2015

After I was found, the volunteers were scratching their heads wondering what breed I was because there was “something familiar” about me. Turns out I look just like a Canaan dog, the national dog of Israel, and although probably not pure bred, here’s what the AKC says about me: “The Canaan Dog is blessed with an endearing and responsive personality, loves her family, and is adaptable to many living situations. Life in an apartment with several short daily walks is as agreeable as living in a suburban home with a yard and noisy kids. While this breed is active, its energy level isn’t excessive, and they make wonderful companion dogs.” So that’s pretty much me — about 3 years old, 33 pounds and perfect for anyone!
