Hi… my name is Mitchell.

Adopted June 26, 2016

Sometimes the best of intentions go awry. My folks had hearts of gold and, like lots of people, just couldn’t say “no” when a stray cat arrived in their yard. When, after a few years, they’d accumulated 20 of us (none neutered!), they realized that they needed help finding us safe homes and medical care. So TALGV’s Outreach Program came to the rescue, and we’re here now and ready for just that — homes of our own. My mom said, “Mitchell isn’t crazy about being held, but likes to be petted while he’s sprawled on the floor or couch. He has ‘ghost-chasing’ moods where he runs at top speed from room to room and then flops, but most of the time he’s easygoing. He knows ‘down’ and is obedient.” Yeah, I’m cool!

PS If ANY cat considers you for adoption, you know you’re pretty lucky, but if one of our few FIV cats picks you, you can be sure you’re REALLY special!

NOTE: FIV is a virus that can only be passed among cats (humans or dogs are never affected), and only through blood. Since cats rarely fight to the degree of drawing blood, FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives with both other FIV positive cats and friendly non-FIV cats. So don’t let those letters scare you — they’re practically like everyone else and they’ll love you even more for choosing them!

Hi… my name is Leonard,

Sometimes the best of intentions go awry. My folks had hearts of gold and just couldn’t say “no” when a stray cat arrived in their yard. After they’d accumulated 20 of us, they realized they needed help finding us safe homes, so TALGV’s Outreach Program came to the rescue. The volunteers say that I’m kind of an introverted guy with humans (I get along great with the other cats though!), so I tend to stay in my cubby and, therefore, miss out on being appreciated for the sweet and mellow fellow I am. They did agree, however, that with patience and love, in a nice quiet home I’d definitely be a wonderful companion for someone. I’ve been waiting a long time, so won’t you be the one to give me that chance?

Hi… my name is Buddy.

Adopted June 13, 2015

Like Superman, I can scale tall buildings with a single bound! Okay, not really, but I do like to tackle the odd fence now and again! The people who found me in Rancho Sahuarita’s Safari Park only had me for a week, but said I was gentle and tolerant with their kids (except when they tried to pinch my food and toys!), loved to sleep with them, and adored playing ball. I do need some guidance in the obedience department though, but I’m ever so willing, and want more than anything to please and to fit in, so if you take the time, your patience will be well rewarded. I’m about a year old and a delightful, 27-pound mix of Basenji and something else, and I know we’ll both be happier when I’m by your side!

FIV Positive – Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

My folks had hearts of gold and, like many people, just couldn’t say “no” when a stray arrived in their yard. When, after a few years, they’d accumulated 20 of us, they realized that they needed help finding us safe homes and medical care and TALGV’s Outreach Program came to the rescue. I’m not quite sure how I got my name, because I’m really a very sweet and loving girl, who, mom says, “plays well with others, understands ‘no’ and ‘get down,’ likes to watch kitchen activities, and likes any kind of toys.” So even though I’m FIV-positive, at my young age I’ve got many years ahead of me to share that love (plus I come with Free Vet Care for Life)!

Hi… my name is Farrah.

Adopted April 11, 2015.

Beauty is not just skin deep! In my case it burrows its way all the way down to my warm little heart! I was found covered with cactus spines and cowering under an RV after being chased by coyotes, and boy was I glad TALGV came along! Now that I’m safe and all patched up, everyone agrees that I am a super sweet, friendly girl who is oh-so-ready for that much-vaunted “forever” home! I have a roommate here and we’re getting along fine, so I’ll bet I’d be okay with a canine friend or two in a new home. I’m a young 24-pound Belgian Malinois mix, and since I’m probably going to be on the small side when I’m grown, I’m told that’s just the perfect “Green Valley” size!

Hi… my name is Lyric.

Adopted March 22, 2015

When your person says, “She’s more than a dog, she’s my best friend,” you know that it was awfully hard for him to part with me. After my dad moved to a new house and his new family developed allergies, I spent a lot of time in the small yard, and everyone agreed that I’m the kind of lady who needs to be with people (I even like cats!). Dad was working long hours, too, so my “attention time” was really curtailed. I’m an über-friendly black Lab mix who’s had obedience training, is gentle and tolerant of kids, and although I’m nervous during thunderstorms, I’m okay if you keep me close. I’d love to spend the rest of my life proving what a super family dog I am!

B B

Hi… my name is B B.

Adopted June 6, 2015

When the new baby in my home was born with a heart defect, my people understandably had to spend a lot of time at the hospital and at home caring for him, so they simply didn’t have time for a big gal like me. I lived with them for most of my life, and they said that although I was a high-energy, high-spirited girl, I loved and was gentle with their kids. A friend took me in for a few months, but the little resident terrier (who didn’t like anyone but her mom and the kids) wasn’t about to make a concession for me! So — here I am in all my beauteous glory — a smart, happy 2-3-year-old American bulldog gal who just wants a family to love! Could it be yours?
