Animal League News

Hi… my name is Schubert.

I was adopted on July 4, 2014.

I’m a very cute black long-haired little guy.  I showed up on the patio of a very nice lady who loves animals but she now has too many to invite me to stay long-term.  I was with my friend, and we were both starving and dirty.  She kept us for a few weeks and then, happily, TALGV took us in and I’m anxiously looking forward to finding my forever home.  My tail apparently had an accident and the end had to be clipped off – just so you know!  My rescuer said that I’m extremely friendly and very lovable, good with other cats and dogs, and that I’d rather be petted than eat!  I think those references are pretty good, don’t you?  So if you’re looking for a new kitty with those attributes, here I am, just a friendly homeless guy with a funny tail!  I’ll purr for you!

Hi… my name is Li’l Pumpkin.

Adopted with Cheeto December 1, 2015

I’m must be upfront with you and admit that since I arrived with a whole passel of cats I got lost in the shuffle when it came to socialization. But on the plus side, I’m a super-handsome, 2½ -year-old, longhaired, orange tabby and white boy and I’m sure that in a peaceful home with people who have time and patience to “wait out” my shyness, I’ll overcome that in no time. My absolute best friend and soul mate, Cheeto, is also a bit on the reticent side, so the volunteers would like us to be adopted together (moral support, you know!). I’m certain that if you make the effort with us, you’ll be rewarded with two delightful (but undoubtedly always quiet!) companions. But hey! What’s wrong with quiet?

Hi… my name is Salem.

Adopted 11-8-16

Salem comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

I’m a handsome, almost-all-black gentleman who came to TALGV back in 2012 because my mom lost her home and her new place didn’t allow pets. I lived with another cat and a dog for six happy years, and although when I first came I was pretty discombobulated, I’ve relaxed a lot since then. I know there’s tons of competition here, but since I get along with other animals and older kids and I come with Free Vet Care for Life, I just know there’s another happy home for me somewhere (I’ve been here for several years now, so hello out there – I need you now!). I love to be petted and all in all, I’m just a laid back guy looking for a quiet life and a loving relationship.

Hi… my name is Murphy.

Adopted April 23, 2016

Oh boy, I’m back at TALGV for the second time! The first time around I was found in Sahuarita on one of the hottest days of the year (talk about lucky on that score!). I was soon adopted, and because I really didn’t like the resident cat, I was less than perfectly mannered in my behavior. Under normal circumstances, I’m a wonderfully outgoing, fastidious guy – my family said that I love to play with balls, feather toys, and stuffed mice – and although it might take me a (very short!) while to become the lap cat of your dreams, I know that I’ll be your best friend in less time than it takes to say “I want a furry friend that loves me”! I’m a handsome, black and white, guy, and I promise if you just give me a chance (and let me be the only guy in your life); I’ll be the feline of your dreams!

Hi… my name is Ember,

Adopted 12-18-16

Ember comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

I’m a big, beautiful Calico lady, whose name perfectly describes her color. I was so happy living with my mom, but when she moved she couldn’t take me with her and I had to move on too. She said I got along with other cats, but I’ve never been around dogs or children, and since I’m pretty used to a fairly quiet life, very young kids may not be a great idea. Although I’m not your traditional “lap cat,” I am very affectionate and mellow and love to be petted. Although I’m not a youngster any more (I now come with Free Vet Care for Life), I can still be playful at times, so come meet me – despite all the “company” here, I’d love a visitor and a friendly chat!

Hi… my name is Suma.

I was adopted March 29, 2014.

Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking, but there’s nothing wrong with me that healthy eating and exercise wouldn’t take care of!  And I didn’t come here with that name (I guess someone thought it was funny), so I not only lost my home, I also lost my name (formerly Blackie), which is not so funny!  Enough “sorry for me” anyway, I’m a large, good-looking, all-black girl, whose family decided they didn’t want me any more.  But if I have to be in a shelter, TALGV is definitely the one to be in!  So here I am eagerly running in the adoption stakes against fierce competition, and I’m up for it!  I’m very friendly, I have neat eyes, and I’m ready, willing and able to make your life a better place by having me in it.  Why not take a chance on me, my bags are packed and I’m ready to go – purrrty please consider me!

Hi…my name is Kiwi.

Adopted May 23, 2015

I’m a beautiful young grey tabby lady, who has certainly been around the block a few times in such a short life.   I was rescued in early 2010 by a wonderful lady who brought me to TALGV and there I gave birth to five fluffy little kittens.  I was hoping that when that was over I could get on with my life and find my forever home.  Finally I was adopted!  Then it turned out my new mom didn’t really want a cat, except for having it sit in her lap, and a nice friend of hers brought me back to TALGV.  She said that “it was not my fault!”  I was welcomed back with open arms, but I’m really sad that once again I haven’t found my forever home.  I am super outgoing and affectionate, and I’m really hoping someone out there will read this and give me a home!

Hi… my name is Sophia.

Adopted April 1, 2014.

I’m a beautiful, green-eyed, long-haired brindle (or classic brown tabby with a bit of torti!) female, who is front-declawed.  My dad got me from a shelter four years ago but now he has health problems and a friend brought me to TALGV.  I didn’t come with a whole lot of information, but a few little details may help – we hope!  I’m quiet and a bit shy (although you’d never know it when someone comes around to pet me). I like to rub against you and be petted, but my dad says I don’t like to be picked up.  I know, I know, it’s not much to go on when you’re looking for a pet, but I’ll tell you one thing: I’m a bit scared of all these other cats around (I’ve been an only pet), so someone please get me out of here!!  I’ll make it worth your while – double purrs!

Hi… My name is Nick.

Adopted June 1, 2015

Hey guys! I’ve been at TALGV for almost three years now and I’m beginning to get a complex! I’m a very, very friendly 6-year-old marmalade boy who was found in a Green Valley family’s back yard. They tried putting me out over the fence, but I came back (twice!) despite the dog and just waited outside their door (I should have been called “Fearless Freddie”!). Although they called around the neighborhood, they had no luck finding my home, so my persistence paid off – I was rescued! Everyone says that I’m a delightfully friendly guy who just seems to get overlooked for some reason, but that I’ll find a home “one of these days.” Well I sure hope it’s soon ‘cause I’ve got a ton of love to give!

Hi… my name is Squiggy,

Adopted December 5, 2015

Hey out there! I’ve been at TALGV for THREE YEARS now, and I think it’s time that someone took a look at me (especially with these gorgeous blue eyes — really unusual in an orange tabby!). Before I arrived, I lived with my senior mom, four other cats, and two dogs. Although I got along fine with all of them in my home, the number of cats here sometimes overwhelms me, so I often keep a low profile. I’m trying not to though and if you’ll come sit in my room and “talk nice” to me, I’ll bet I can convince you that I’m the one for you. Please give me a chance and try it — it might be Karma.

Hi… my name is Ziva,

Adopted 6-11-18

I guess it’s time to get outta this shelter as I’ve been here since I was three weeks old and now I’m 7! They tell me I’ve been here longer than almost any other cat and they might start making me earn my keep, so I think it’s definitely time to find my own human! I found an adopter a while ago but I hid under the bed and he didn’t understand that we shy cats need time to adjust to new places. I do like to be petted and play with string toys, but I’m not one of those super needy cats that never give you any space. And I am beautiful, too, as you can see from my pictures, so now’s the time to give me a new lease on life!  (bio revised November 2017)

Hi… my name is Cheeto,

Adopted with Li’l Pumpkin December 1, 2015

I’m a handsome, black-striped tabby guy, who, if I were a little more silvery would be known as a Silver or Blotched Tabby and very desirable as an American Shorthair. There were SOOO many kittens at TALGV when I arrived in 2011 that I kind of got lost in the shuffle and still haven’t made it to my forever home. I’ve made a lot of progress in the socialization department though, and my “BFF” (that’s “best feline friend”), Li’l Pumpkin, and I love to hang out together, so the volunteers would like us to be adopted together too (moral support, you know!). I’m certain that if you make the effort, you’ll be rewarded with two delightful (but undoubtedly always quiet!) companions. But hey! What’s wrong with quiet?
